The film was originally titled "Problem, Stora Problem" (Problems, Big Problems), but was changed to Trubbel hos JoTech. After discovering that JoTech was a real company, it was changed again to the final title - Trubbel hos JosTech.
The film was shot across three days, and was the result of a failed LAN-gathering. After failing to establish a good connection to a Minecraft server, there was a notion about making another film. William O'Grady wrote the script in less than an hour and filming began immediately.
Lorenz Pihlblad and Erik Kolterjahn Kjellberg switched the roles of Hasse.
The movie was heavily inspired by Rope (1948) and shot all scenes in one take. The cinematography pays homage to Martin Scorsese's tracking shots, as well as Wes Andersons symmetrical framing and yellow-tinted lighting.
The original ending for the film occurred when the employees watched television. It would cut to black and say: "Starta aldrig eget företag" (Don't start your own company). It was quickly changed.
