There was a time Govinda's films were superhits and Pahlaj Nihalini could get audiences to theatres but now times have changed. The film in short is an assault to the senses and ruined by bad direction and loud acting

The film looks out of place in today's times The film is a remake of Rajnikant's Netrikant but looks stupid and out of place in today's times

Direction is bad Music is bad

Govinda in both roles is too loud and gets to the nerves especially in the role of womaniser The heroines are awful Shakti Kapoor is loud Govind Namdeo gets no scope Rest are all okay

Well there was a time when Govinda's movies were a treat to watch and they were great at that time period, but as time changes the acceptance level of people changes, you cannot use the same old theory or actors and try to make the same oldskool thing again, yes there are period films being made, but the actors are new and suitable to the present time, being said that his fellow actors are still working like salman khan, shahrukh, rajnikant, kamal hassan, but they have modified themselves in such a way that they look modern and exuberant , salman khan maintains his physic (to some extent), so does kamal hassan, and they are action heroes , so thats the prime most thing which kept their hold in industry till now. As action films always appeals the public, and Gone are the days when B gradish films with some soft pornographic scenes used to be hit, there are only an ample exceptions like Grand masti, masti, and those too were done by young actors, which didn't make it a pervert film. If old actors try and do such films like this one, rangeela raja, thats way to vulgar and pervert...

Govinda on the other hand is a family guy or a comic jolly actor who was suitable back then with that fluffy physic which was acceptable cuz nobody gave that importance to the physicality those days, and now the time has changed, either the actor has to be more active and good looking, or has to be rajnikant. If you are neither, then stay away and enjoy your fame and stay away from ruining it..

Two brothers, hailing from a royal family in Jodhpur, are completely different from one another. While the elder brother Raja Vijendra Pratap (Govinda) leads a life of deception and engages in adultery, the younger brother Ajay Pratap (also played by Govinda) becomes a sanyasi and believes in leading a righteous life. Loud, obnoxious and a womaniser Raja, who has no qualms about cheating on his demure, docile and much younger wife Shivranjani (Digangana Suryavanshi), starts to feel the heat of his own actions when his younger brother takes matters in his hands and chalks out an elaborate plan to straighten him out. The film is all things 90's - a larger-than-life Govinda on screen, melodramatic dialogues, flashy costumes and over-the-top acting by the entire cast. 'Rangeela Raja' offers nothing new, neither in terms of story-telling, nor in terms of its lousy execution. This family drama/comedy is a figment of director Sikander Bharti and writer Khalid Azmi's over-stretched imagination. The only silver lining here is that the film serves as a reminder of the once adored, colourful on-screen persona of Govinda. The film also features Shakti Kapoor, as driver Padampet, and it's a nostalgic nod to the two actors' iconic comedy pairing from the 90's. Both the actresses in the movie - Digangana Suryavanshi as Shivranjani and Mishika Chourasia as Natasha - have hammed throughout and that doesn't help the prospects of this clichéd story. Perhaps in a different era and with a tighter script, 'Rangeela Raja' would have been able to entertain the single screen audience. But, in the current scenario, this tale of a philandering prince feels a little too jaded.

Nice duo of Govinda and pahlaj nahlani it's really amazing too see Govinda with big duration film after a long long time of more than a decade in 1999 with maharaja and now with rangeela Raja of 2hrs42mins!!!!! I Gave This Film Predictions Of Rs. 5 crores day 1

Being a die hard fan off Govinda, I have waited for a solid comeback with a big banner. And this is not the film.

I most admit that it is a B-Movie with a very low budget.

There are many stupid scenes and WTF moments.

The jogi baba Govinda is OK and some time ugly af.

But the reason I am here is the elder Govinda. Damn it, he did a brilliant job. You love him, you hate him. He is the hero he is the villain. He will make you laugh and he will make you vomit. Govinda grated such a solid personality that don't give a damn, it is his show. And every one around him knows that he is the Boss!

If you can ignore some of the parts and look how good Govinda acted like a real mean , then there is a chance that you can enjoy it.

I MYSELF RESPECT ALL HIS FILMS EVERY ACTOR DOES HIS BEST TO DO THE BEST WE ALL KNOW HE HAS BEEN GONE FOR AWHILE FROM INDUSTRY IN POLITICS BUT HE TRIED HIS BEST TO MAKE A BEST COMEBACK AND EVERY ACTOR WILL NOT DO SAME PERFORMANCE THAT WHAT HE DID BEFORE BECAUSE AFTER A LONG COME BACK EVERY ACTOR STARTS SMALL JUST LIKE A NEW BORN KID SO IF YOU LOVE YOUR SUPER STAR EVEN IF HE OR SHE GIVES A BAD PERFORMANCE STILL GIVE 5 STAR RATING SO THE ACTOR OR ACTRESS FEELS GOOD THAT HE CAN DO BETTER THE NEXT TIME.

AND DONT FORGET HE WAS THE LEGEND IN HIS 90'S HIS LOOKS ARE STILL ASTOUNDING AND AGE IS JUST A NUMBER LOOKS DONT MATTER.

Nice movie ,govinda 's Comedy was great. My fav childhood hero govinda. Very nice movie i watched it today once again. It is very entertaining and touched the soul. Govinda no 1 actor hero no 1 Comedian no 1 dancer. Govinda's comic timing is iconic and still amongst the best in Bollywood. Even back in the day, he was known for improvising his dialogues on set without losing the essence of it. He has a knack for languages which helped in bringing out the best in him. His performance got many positive reviews from critics in the Rangeela Raja Movie. In Happy Ending, Govinda seems to be comfortably in-character and if the trailer is any indication we are all set to see the fun Govinda with great comic timing. Beginning with Shola Aur Shabnam (1992), Govinda used his comic timing to separate himself from the rest and changed the perception that people had of him. This was his third film with David Dhawan after Taaqatwar (1989) and Swarg but it was with Shola Aur Shabnam that the two found their groove and the next film that they did together, Aankhen (1994) changed it all.
