The only thing that's worth watching in Kiran Narayanan's Oru Visheshapetta Biriyani Kissa is the idea of making and eating biriyani, because everything else - from the story to the narrative to the concept of angels to the side arcs of hidden love to sexist jokes - makes this an affair as stale and inappropriate as rotten food. Warning: Spoilers
From a promising start, the movie goes somewhere. Usually the subject of a chef becoming successful from humble beginnings has great potential. There are countless movies like that. Ratatouille, the chef etc. Are some of the famous ones. Showing the main character as
widow with a lose character makes the whole movie kind of nauseating. If she were shown as a struggling middle aged woman with a roadside eatery and she becoming famous could have been a very good plot and would have had more possibilities. Also seems like the movie is made to show a particular religion bad. Anyways this Biryani leaves a bitter and rotten taste.
