Another partnership between Steve Winwood and director David Fincher along with "Roll With It", in "Holding On" (also from the same album of the other clip) a group of
colorful different characters interact with each other in what seems to be the 1940's and everybody's happy and having a good time. From couples, friends to an apparent crime
boss with his girl, they're all having a ball while Winwood appears here and there in between sequences, at times quite sad and never performing the song (I liked this concept).
There isn't much to be said about it except that it's all well-filmed and presented, the song is good but far from being catchy as some of Winwood's previous works in that decade such as "Valerie" or "While You See a Chance". There's grace, style and plenty of happiness brought on by the characters and it's a feel-good video, quite uncharateristic of Mr. Fincher who tends to create more visceral imagery and stories sometimes in his music videos. Yet it's a thumbs up for me. 8/10.
