Fun movie
mike6170411 May 2022
I enjoyed the movie. I must admit that I am a sucker for B movies regardless of year. It was funny, fun and a decent story. The direction was great, nice shots all around unlike many B style movies this generation. Practical effects are a go to in my book. Very little CGI and I love that. The acting was better than most and there was beautiful women dancing. The only thing missing was full nudity. If you are going to make a real B movie, you need to be showing it all to get that rating up.

Goofy and corny low budget sci-fi comedy...
paul_haakonsen9 May 2022
Right, well from this 2017 sci-fi comedy movie's cover alone, then I wasn't really expecting a whole lot. But still, as I hadn't already seen director Brian K. Williams' "Space Babes from Outer Space" movie, then of course I had to give it a viewing.

Well, "Space Babes from Outer Space" is not exactly groundbreaking cinema, and it is as corny and cheesy as you would assume it to be given the movie's title and its cover. Initially, I was dreading this would be a lousy and sleazy movie bordering on being softcore pornography, but thankfully director Brian K. Williams didn't venture that far down that path. "Space Babes from Outer Space" has some topless nudity in it and that is about it, so thumbs up for that.

The storyline in "Space Babes from Outer Space" is pretty straight forward. I will say that the storyline was actually corny enough to be enjoyable for what it turned out to be. And the movie was actually not all that bad in comparison to so many other movies of the same ilk. Sure, this isn't Shakespearian storytelling, but you get what you would expect from a movie such as this.

This is a low budget movie, pure and simply. But the props, costumes, wardrobes, sets, etc. Were actually fair, and they added a good layer of charms to the movie. It worked very well in favor of the movie, as it brought a somewhat stylish sense of low budget charm to the production. So, thumbs up on that achievement.

Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with a single actress or actor that were on the cast list. But I will say that those involved in the movie put on good enough performances. I can't single out anyone for a particularly memorable performance, though, but in overall the actors and actresses put on good enough jobs.

It takes a somewhat special mindset to sit down and watch a movie like "Space Babes from Outer Space". You have to enjoy corny sci-fi movies that are aimed at a randy, young adult audience. And you also need to have a liking for movies that doesn't take itself or anything else serious. And most importantly, you need to have a love for low budget cinema.

All in all, "Space Babes from Outer Space" was watchable enough for what it turned out to be. However, it is not a movie that I will be watching a second time.

My rating of "Space Babes from Outer Space" lands on a five out of ten stars.

It's A Feminist Triumph.
jegd-847-63140712 October 2018
You can't help but think that with a cast of A-List celebrities or a well-known director such as Steven Speilberg this film would be nominated for an Academy Award. The storyline was a solid original plot where three young ladies from a planet of all women find themselves trapped on Earth seeking a unique form of energy to fuel their space vessel. It isn't a solid Sci-Fi for many fans, but it is a rather remarkable love story in the vein opf 2017's 'The Space Between Us'. Ellie Church, Allison Maier, and Alyss Winkler carried this film. Respectfully I haven't seen this kind of talent from strong female role models since the 2002 film 'Chicago'. Ellie Church & Brian Papandrea (as Charlie) brought an on screen chemistry for the love story that I haven't seen since the 1950 French film 'Un Chant d'Amour'. Powerful heart touching drama. I genuinely felt the love between this duo.

I only had two criticisms regarding 'Space Babes From Outer Space'; Although this movie was marginally female driven, my first criticism has to be the lack of racial diversity. I could easily imagine someone like Yaya Alafia or Lupita Nyong'o being part of this undertaking. My last criticism would be the character of 'Carrieola' was under-used in several scenes that required nudity. I understand for some that on screen nude scenes can often be a career ender, but in situations where the female body is part of an expressive nature ('The Wrestler" 2008) rather than a gratuity of flesh ('Nymphomaniac' 2013) it is simply necessary. The ending itself (which I won't spoil for anyone) is quite a twist. It was reminiscent of M. Night Shyamalan staple of movie twists that I recall from 'The Sixth Sence' - I literally did not see it coming.

Recognizably this film is not for everyone. It came to life as a Kickstarter campaign and is an easy target for trolls who like to hate on matriarchal ideologies. While it is humorous at times, it is not as funny as ( say) the science fiction classic 'Space Balls'. It is a relatively fresh take on modern society that is suppressive of an opposition through censorship - for example those who might refuse Netflix movies to be nominated for prestigious film awards. I found this film to be entertaining, although for full disclosure I watched it for free, and I suspect the majority of viewers would appreciate the same. More bluntly; do not pay for this movie if you can see it in gratis.

I Had a Really Good Time With This One

Space Babes from Outer Space (2017)

*** (out of 4)

Three space babes (led by Ellie Church) come to Earth but discover they need sexual energy to get their ship enough power to get back home. They meet a man named Charlie (Brian Papandrea) who is going to show them what sexuality on Earth means.

SPACE BABES FROM OUTER SPACE is a low-budget science fiction film that, as the title suggests, goes for softcore sex and a lot of nudity. This film was financed thanks to a very successful Kickstarter campaign and I must admit taht I was really shocked at how entertaining the movie was. If you grew up watching those cheap softcore movies on Cinemax and HBO then you should be the target audiance for this film.

Normally I make excused for films like this when I enjoy them but I really don't think I need to do that here. Usually I say a movie was poorly made but it had elements that kept me entertained but this here was actually well-directed by Brian K. Williams who really delivers what fans of this type of film would want. THe effects are very cheesy looking but they were done that was for a reason and they work.

What really sells this film are the beautiful ladies and the fact that they are constantly naked (except for the star Church). There are all sorts of nude scenes here and in fact a large portion of the running time takes place at a strip club. If you're wanting to see women naked then this certainly delivers including one scene where a group of strippers are on stage and this scene must have the most number of breasts ever capture during one scene in film history.

Even the monsters were fun. Yes, you read that correctly. SPACE BABES FROM OUTER SPACE really is a pretty good movie. Sure, there are flaws to be found but the film had one goal and it met and exceeded that.

Space trash to be fired into the sun and obliterated from existence
MinistryofDoom21 January 2020
I don't know what the 10 star reviewers are smoking, but I want some. If you want an honest indicator of how good this film is: look at the trailer. The "Space Babes" spaceship is made of cardboard and the control console is literally covered in tin foil. Look, this film came out in 2017, not 1966. There is no reason whatsoever to make a film as poor as this. To even call it a "film" besmirches the more respectable, talented artists who work tirelessly to create cinematic masterpieces. Space Babes is so bad that it doesn't even deserve a Razzie. Last year's Razzie winner compared to this would be an Oscar contender. Truly one of the worst things I have ever seen in my life. It has no redeeming value whatsoever.

I implore you: don't waste your time. Watching paint dry is far more entertaining than this garbage.

Don't be tempted by the title
Hammer-Rocks17 April 2020
This movie is a total waste of time - even during self-isolation.

It's neither funny nor amusing. It's not even corny. It's just plain dreadful. I thought it was going to have the same vibe as great 80s teen movies. It had a crazy plot, nerds, beautiful women, and gratuitous nudity. But that's where the similarities end. The rest was utter chaos and, and.... well, nothing.

This movie is so bad, I didn't even finish it. I lasted 38 mins. So forgive me if the movie gets better after that. But up to that point it was utter rubbish.

This movie isn't a B-Grade, not even a C, D, or E-Grade. It looks more like the work of amateur horny teenagers.

Give this movie a ultra wide berth.

Much better than I expected.

I figured this movie would suck but it was actually pretty good. Charlie's family is extremely funny. The girls are a good reason to not make movies in hd (moles, scars, cellulite etc) and the almost good looking one doesn't show her boobs but you can't expect good looking girls to get involved in something like this. There is also a major plot hole (and few smaller ones) but they don't really hurt the movie. According to this site, the little boy who is being told the story is Young Charlie. According to the movie credits and common sense, it is not Charlie.

Immature, absurd, ridiculous, hilarious dirty fun of an adult comedy for us men.
SinInSanity21 March 2018
If outrageous dirty comical fun that's full of ridiculous antics, tons of dirty innuendos, immature dirty humor, the scrotum made into aliens chasing some not so smart & hilarious women through the galaxy that happen to land upon the "alien planet" Earth, a rocking soundtrack and hot smoking women (with a healthy dose of T&A) sounds like he making of a good time, strap yourself in for this movie. It's a ride you won't want to get off.

I laughed so much at this Spaceballs sort of film for adult men movie (but not a Star Wars parody). I have laughed so very hard and still am laughing as I type. I've laughed at this more than a film has made me laugh in a looong time and it's fun and it's sexy!

If you are a guy, you gotta at least rent this (I GOTTA OWN THIS!, my viewing is currently only a rental). This movie is NOT a porn, not even softcore porn despite that it seems like it would be at first glance. It's straight up adult comedy aimed at men, well, many of us men and you don't get a chance to stop some of your laughs before others are piled on.

The trailer doesn't do this justice, not even close but I suppose to do that would kill the experience of your first unexpecting watch of it. Often a trailer for a movie hypes you up for the movie but leaves you so disappointed after watching the movie but this, this is the opposite of that. I wasn't expecting much after what I read and saw in the trailer but after just 10 minutes of viewing I was already like, I can't believe what I am seeing and I LOVE IT!

The only thing that could add to how much fun this is, how hilarious it is, for me anyway, would be watching Beavis & Butthead view it. Just the thought of that kills me, just like the pissing scene did in this movie as that scene had me in stitches & losing my breath in immense laughter. This is on that level of humor too (Beavis & Butthead) but much sexier and much more adult comedy type.

I'm not quite at the end of the movie yet but I needed a moment to catch my breath, so I'm doing this review while I do so. Even if the rest of what's left for me to see for some reason sucked, I'd still give it 10 stars just for all I have seen thus far though I have a very hard time seeing this doing anything but getting better as I finish my viewing.

While there's A LOT of nice T&A in this to see, that's not the strength of the film nor what it relies on, just as the rocking soundtrack isn't either but both help make the experience a great one. The humor is what makes this so great and the other pleasant things are just delicious sweet icing on this cake. The ridiculous dialogue will be immature stupid to uptight people, same with the silly antics but it's this absurdity of it all that is the real strength of the film, which will make you love it (or hate if you are one of those types). This is the far, far, far opposite of a classy film and I love it for that because it does it so hilariously well.

Space Babes: Sci-fi Retro-Sex Gags
babyjaguar1 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This fun, "tongue in cheek", and crowd-pleaser film is a new departure from Williams's earlier cinematographic work in the horror genre (Harvest Lake, 2016). For this film, he goes back to reference retro 80s flick such as Weird Science, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and even Porky's. It where nerds, dorks, deadbeats, etc. get the girls... well sort of speak! Other reviewers as described this film as "love story".

I felt that he could of rip off or referenced 90s films such as Full Moon productions and even Tromaville films. Its 80s references was kind of done for me besides I feel it works better for recent genre directors like Adam brooks (Father's Day, The Editor, etc.) and Paul Ragsdale (Cinco de Mayo). Also this film comes from the fan "crowd funding" circles -- so these are the films for the fans.

There was some good new talents like Brian Papandrea, schlocky special effects to boot and the 80s feel of its soundtrack was strong. It had some decent shots in the strip "titty bar" club scenes. These type of films must to be watched (with drinks) with a group of fans of retro 80s sex comedies.

Watching it alone may be not as entertaining... in time I am sure this may become a cult following at Horror-themed conventions.

Funny T&A exploits, nice production quality
Royson5811 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Although not a classic, I think this will be enjoyable by most looking for good humor, classic T&A presentation (topless nudity of women, but no FF), with good production quality.

References to classics such as "Porky's" is fair, although those were more about teenage hormones. Here we have one main male, Charlie, who's the lucky first guy to meet the three crash landed female aliens.

There were some points which simply didn't work for me. The first was Charlie's family scene (were he takes his favorite alien). Simply too long, unfunny, and introduced you to multiple people who you don't like, etc., etc.

Second, in the 21st century, we still have the double standard of what is nasty for women is OK for men. Charlie's crush has the opportunity to have multiple male sex partners, but can't go through with it. Of course, that doesn't hold true for Charlie. Even in the '80s, they would have found that odd.

Some of the humor was very funny, which is really what this is all about. Not great, but enjoyable.

Honest 10/10
stoyantomov25 April 2020
Can only say that it is obvious that the movie is making a parody out of itself and it's doing a bloody brilliant job of that. I would probably never laugh at any of the jokes in the movie if they were placed anywhere else, but Space Babes gives you the narrative and execution needed for them to work.

Honestly think it's great. 10/10 for everything. It's so good because it knows how to be very bad. Would watch again

Here is a totally honest review... Critics? You suck.
vincentgorona16 October 2020
Had me at "Space Babes". If you are a fan of the late 80's shlock horror and cheesy style late-night Skinemax movies, then you're in for a treat. Now I said "style", I did not say that this is one of those. This is THE type of movie that you call all your friends over, make a bunch of popcorn and sit back and enjoy. Tons of one liners that actually hit the mark. Plenty of goofy antics and great acting from the majority of the cast. There was a critic that didn't get why the laugh track had played when the family was introduced. The sad simple fact is, you just don't get it.

This is a movie that does make fun of itself in the best way possible. If you are a fan of movies like this, and no not just for the skin, but an actual fan of this genre, then its easy to see why I can say the majority of the cast had amazing performances. Ellie Church (Harvest Lake 2016), Alison Maier (Frankenstien Created Bikers 2016) and the ever cute Alyss Winkler (Plank Face 2016 and most notably Violet 2020), all spun their parts off the proverbial spool in this. Not to mention the acting by Brian Papandrea (Plank Face 2016), which is always a delight to see.

This cast and crew only get better with every movie they put out. The acting is great, the sets and props are freaking amazing, This is a great movie and i just want to let the cast and crew know that at least someone out there (me) actually gets it. I don't want to give away any of the plot or anything but then again i'm not some stuck up critic either. I'm just a lover of this type of genre. I actually found this movie by mistake once, saw it and that propelled me into all the other movies they've done. I say shut up, take a chance and watch this one. I encourage you to do so. Have fun and watch the others movies from these fine actors. Actually makes me wish I stuck to acting, Id always wanted to be in films like this. I digress.. why are you still reading this? go watch it!

Great schlock
tyree_hoffman2 July 2017
It's like Troma and classic 80s late night cult schlock got together and had a baby in 2017! So many great puns! An amazing 80s-esque soundtrack! This is by far one of the best films I've seen this year! Space Babes From Outer Space has cult classic written all over it!

This film has that "late night comedy" feel, without the overabundance of nudity in an attempt to lock in viewers (not to say that there isn't plenty of nudity, but those scenes aren't the selling point of the film). It's definitely the sort of film that you can watch again and again with some chicken nuggets, a few cold beers, and your best friends.

This movie is a freaking AWESOME!!!
seanisgawd16 July 2017
I have enjoyed many movies made by Brian K. Williams and Ellie Church. This one was by far the most exciting. The movie is full of light humored dirty sexiness. The ladies are beautiful, the story line is original. Some similarities to Space Balls, but... Space Balls didn't arouse me like this movie did. Feel so bad for Willy though.

Great Movie! Indie Films Rock!
chazboudoir15 July 2017
Yes, I give this indie film a solid 10! Such a fun ride! The one liners are bouncing all around...Brilliant they are in fact. The story line is solid and creative. This is Indie folks so you will be treated to some cool sets, great lines, sexy costumes and much more! I'm not going to give any away but you will want to invite your friends and watch this flick. It's a space journey unlike any Star Wars episode. Think more of comedy every step and corner. Prepare to laugh out loud and disturb all your boring neighbors. The villains, wait til you see who they are and how adorable yet evil in one package they can be. So, don't just take my word for it, see it for yourself and make sure to review the film after. Remember, Support Indie Films!

A fun sci-fi comedy.
DarylJGittings22 December 2023
Space Babes from Outer Space is a goofy, fun, sci-fi comedy.

The movie starts out with a grandpa telling his grandson a "Fairy Tale" at bedtime. Grandpa tells young Charlie the story of the "Spacebabes".

The Space Babes land on earth in a barn. They follow the "energy", being the sexual energy of a young man named Charlie. They need the energy to fuel their spaceship.

Charlie takes the three Spacebabes into the local strip club to find more energy. Apparently the space Babes are being cursed by a couple of scrouts. These weird creatures who want to eat them.

Much of the action takes place in a strip club. As two of the "babes" try to get the needed energy from the club's patrons.

There's some pretty good laughs, especially in the scenes with Jason Crowe.

For what it is Space Babes from Outer Space is a fun movie. It features many of the best in indie horror; Ellie Church, Alyss Winkler (Plankface, Slaughterhouse Slumber Party), Roni Jonah (Slaughterhouse Slumber Party), Jason Crowe, and Ravyn Rose. One of my favorite modern Scream Queens makes a painfully brief appearance at the end of the film; the beautiful and very talented Jessa Flux (Murdercise, CarousHELL 3), who just may be one of the hardest working women on the indie horror scene. Overall the cast is great! Many of these people are in a lot of my favorite indie horror films.

Apparently someone has a strange obsession with chicken nuggets, lol!

8/10: Check it out! This one I want to add a physical copy of to my collection.
