A brutal, disturbing piece of art
TouchTheGarlicProduction22 November 2017
This is the first time since Game of Thrones' Red Wedding that something on a TV show has disturbed me so deeply. I genuinely do not feel okay after watching this episode. The reveal and denouement at the end of this episode is one of the most shocking things I have ever seen. Normally there's some joy in the reveal of a twist, but this... this is just brutal. It's going to take me a while to recover.

Mind you, when I mention how disturbing and intense it is, I'm mostly talking about the ending. The majority of the episode takes the pace down a notch, instead luxuriating in the atmosphere and catching up with the characters in the aftermath of last episode's big event. Angela is shell-shocked, Elliot is madly searching for answers, Dom realizes she's just a cog in the machine, and Phillip finds himself backed into a corner. On paper it's quite slow, but in execution it's mesmerizing and powerful.

But even as the episode takes the time to catch up with all the characters, it's already slowly building the tension and setting up the next phase of this story, which comes to a head at the end of this episode. I've already mentioned how surprising and disturbing it is, but it also didn't come out of nowhere; in retrospect there were a great many things setting it up earlier this season, lines from Whiterose that now have new significance. There's also a very real (almost too real) layer of social commentary to it, making the whole thing all the more visceral.

In summation, this is a stunning, brutal episode of Mr. Robot that will leave you drained, depressed, and even more amazed at the brilliance of this show.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled...

Warning: Spoilers
It's gonna be hard for me to write this review. Not because I don't know how I feel, this IS a great episode. But I feel... I don't even know how to explain it. Beginning of the episode I was bobbing my head to the Knight Rider theme song with a big grin on my face and by the end I was sat with my mouth gawped open and a vacant look in my eyes because I didn't quite know how to process what I had just seen. Literally the whole way through I felt I was being broken down from the inside. Elliot shutting down because he can't bear to say what he's done. Tyrell finding out his wife is dead and that his child is going to be brought up in an alien environment unsure of their future. Angela rewinding the TV so everyone would be okay. And the ending. I wanna be more original and think of other words to describe it but the only word that I can think of is Disturbing. I don't think I have anything else to say, it's taken the most part of an hour to figure out what I've already written, I'm just winging it at this point. Score time!(does a little score time dance) I'm gonna give this a 9.7/10. Now I'm gonna go watch old cartoons to restore what little I had left of my innocence.

The true colors of the revolutions
matheus_yhwh23 November 2017
Dark, intense and sad episode. We are seeing the consequences of first and second season. The photography of this episode is really great - no surprises here. A lot of theories (time travel, parallel universes) now bites the dust. All the characters are in a breakdown state. The show is being more realistic than ever.

mr. robot's darkest episode
da3m0nic14 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
No one gets what they want except Whiterose, who gets everything she wanted. That's my summary for this episode. Every scene contains so much insight into the despair of all of our sympathetic characters, from Angela, to Mr. Robot, to Tyrell, and even to Price. The tragedy of Trenton and Mobley is quite possibly the darkest thing the show has ever done and the scene where Zhang slaps Price's hand is maybe the best scene in the entire series for me. And Dom realizing that Whiterose must be behind every thing and that she won effortlessly is the perfect end to Mr. Robot's darkest episode (so far, at least).

Just wow

Warning: Spoilers
This episode tops breaking bad in it's cinematography, also getting some great references to other films, like zero dark thirty or Sicario. Really, Mr Robot surprised me so damn much during the summer on its first season, and then each episode took it on a higher level. Sam Esmail wrote a damn good screenplay, and delivers it even better. It's so complex and then so easily comprehensive. genius

Sad and beautiful
SeventhirtyseveN_73728 November 2017
Again, Sam Esmail brings us an amazing Mr.Robot episode. Was toned down a notch, not as good as the other two episodes, but still a 10/10 from me. The opening credits alone left me so hyped for the episode, and I was as hyped when it ended as I was when it started. The cinematography was, again, with no surprise, excellent. The soundtrack was beautiful and the climax of the episode was sad and depressing. It has come the time for me to say this show has surpassed Game of Thrones. In my opinion, it has more to offer as an experience and if you liked Breaking Bad, which I love, you're gonna love Mr.Robot. You can tell Sam Esmail got inspired by Breaking Bad when making this show, and even he said BrBa was his favorite show. Getting a bit off topic now, but overall, this episode has a lot to offer, and it's the perfect episode to follow up the two masterpieces that were episode 5 and 6.

Dark, atmospheric and unhinged
TheMelancholySpirit21 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A seemingly important episode, one which definitely drags you deep into its haunting depths. The last few minutes were a reminder that Mr. Robot can be both dark and brutal. It's an episode I wouldn't take lightly. Honestly this was disturbing in the outcome. But what made this was the atmosphere and dialogue. The dialogue between Whiterose and Price was great. I could only describe this episode as cold, gruesome, and almost gruelling. I felt disconnected and deeply disturbed by the end result, and a bit exhausted because the last three episodes have been more than adequate. Some of the best TV out there, really I can't stop watching. It's put together so well, its actors give their best portrayals and the writing is at a peak. So far, season one has been my favourite but my two favourite episodes were the back to back predecessors to this one, and this one itself is shocking but definitely up there in the top ten of the series I would say. I think if I were to rank my ten favourite episodes, this one is probably ninth or tenth. I love the bewildering, complex, unique aspects but also the setting, atmosphere, tone, and the entire psychology of the show. Once again indulging in its latest offerings, I am still hooked on this smart, wonderful psychological tech-thriller. I just can't believe we've lost two more characters, it's getting serious. Highly recommend.

Top of mount everest
alci35010 October 2022
This episode started with a bang and went on to be a mushroom cloud of all episodes before it. The intro, the awesome Knight Rider references and Joey Bada$$'s acting were next level. He is so good you can only do that if you mean it, Marlon Brando style! So much is going on in this episide, you need to rewind a few times to grasp the new realities. The acting, the story, the sidestories, the music, the filming (desert scenes especially), they were perfect and brough out the extremes/limits of the characters. It's hard to say 1 specific favorite episode of show if you like it, but this one was worthy of an award!

Rewatch, 9.75/10

This is definitely one of the most underrated episodes you will ever watch if you get to this. This shows alot of very important scenes and information that helps throughout the storyline if this show. My favorite characters in this episode were Mobley, Trenton, and Leon. My favorite things about this episode were the Antagonists, the action, and the ending. I personally believe this episode should be higher rated on this app, because this was incredibly and emotionally put together at the same exact time. This was another episode that showed how good Mr. Robot season 3 and 4, or the whole series in general, is.

Very Decent [7.5/10]
panagiotis19932 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
My Reaction / Review for Mr. Robot Season 3 Episode 7: Episode 6 was great and I gave it a rating of 8/10. Leon, Trenton and Mobley are back? Damn. Elliot is losing it, I feel bad for him, all this conflict and confusion. Tyrell wants to see his wife and child, isnt his wife dead or am I missing something? All Tyrell wanted was to see his wife and child, I feel bad for him. Krista wants to tell police about Elliot, Elliot shouldn't trust her. Angela is losing it. I always love the conversations between Phillip abd White Rose. They killed Mobley and Trenton? Damn that sucks. Now everyone believes that the ''bad guys'' are dead, another trick form White Rose. Overall a decent episode but not a masterpiece, my rating is 7.5/10.

What If We Are Being Recruited???
wandernn1-81-68327412 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Man reading some of the reviews, I expect every episode to be really impressive and usually they just aren't that great. Not sure what I'm missing.

The opening of this one is funny tho. A tribute to Frasier and Knight Rider!!!! Given to us by Leon! +1 Star

Then we have Eliot crying as he sees a news report that 71 ECorp buildings have been damaged or destroyed in a 'coordinated attack', worldwide. This is just something that is not possible. Even governments with unlimited resources couldn't pull something off like that. I find it unbelievable. -1 Star.

Angela showing Darlene video in rewind was disturbing. She's obviously lost her gourd as well. How many people in this show are mentally ill? +1 Star for annoying me with that

So we consistently see Slater / Robot in place of Eliot when Eliot is that personality. The pistol whack to the head to render someone unconscious. That's always a risk because odds are you'll kill someone before knocking them out that way. -1 Star for that old outdated TV gimmick

Price and convos with WhiteRose continue.

5/10.
