Toei Studio's 1960s output is highlighted with a series of action packed Yakuza; ninkyo eiga, films. Director Kosaku Yamashita proved himself to be a master of the low budget gangster film , he produced some of the best and most memorable films of the genre. The marvellous stories have a similar foundation, loyal Yakuza souls caught in conflicting predicaments, tales of hardened characters torn apart, challenged by their honour bound obligations to brothers and family. A strong cast, Kôji Tsuruta as always is excellent, Otoko namida non hâmonjô, has some terrific action, plenty of knife weilding bloodshed, with some truly amazing unforgettable imagery, surprising this excellent film is in need of five ratings ! . Highly Recommended.
