Binge Worthy!
Noveljoan1 September 2019
This show was a pleasant surprise. Without knowing the lead, I started watching based on the trailer alone (nice job on the trailer xD) and I just kept watching. Unlike many shows that sacrifice character building for action, or vice versa, this show managed to balance these well. The tension was tight enough to keep me needing to know more, but time was also taken to show that the characters were human, with all the baggage - both good and bad - that goes with that fact. At the end of episode 10 (completed a day after having begun episode 1), all I wanted to know was: How long do I have to wait for season 2?

Binge worthy

Why so many comparisons to the original movie when it's a series ?. condor hooks you in from the start and is unpredictable throughout. Enjoy it for what it is.

Really enjoy this show

Warning: Spoilers
This show hooks you from the start. I love the acting in the movie. Love seeing Brendan Fraser in this role. He is great, playing a nutty bad guy. My only complaint is that they killed off the only real relationship(person in his corner) with the main character. After her death, I felt a sense of hopelessness for the main character, which was frustrating. I have 2 episodes left to watch, but I hope they get picked up for a second season.

Why all the negative reviews
felix99118 June 2018
In the TV Category, I give this a 10 and that's how this show should be rated. This is not some summer blockbuster they spent a 100 million on and it's way better than a lot of the TV shows out there of this genre. Having spent most of 30 years watching all the popular TV shows of the past I feel that the series so far deserves a watch. I put in the 1st episode at the end of the night just to check it out and wound up staying up until 2am watching ep01 and ep02 and yes Brandon Fraiser's acting is a little hard to watch which I don't understand because he used to be a better actor in the past but he doesn't have many parts so we can overlook that.

Some other reviewer wrote: The plot is tedious??? The plot is the same plot that is in every terrorist about to take over the world series on TV and a lot of movies. Nobody CIA analyst discovers a threat to the nation and bad guys want him dead and of course there is already plants in the government that cover up the intel and paint a target on the good guy so that all the police want him too for murders he didn't commit so now he's on the run to save the world. Kinda sounds like Jack Bauer right?

I cant speak for the rest of the episodes until they come out but do yourself a favor and watch the first two and see if your not hooked. If you liked Blacklist, Shooter,The Brave, Seal Team or Taken, you will like this.

An Amazing Action Series after such a long time
guptaraghav-2423 June 2018
Surprised...... !

Surprised over the fact that some of the people are still stuck in those action drama that is more of the flare and fantasy world while in this series the whole story sounds genuine rather than complete BS.

Without giving away the story line, just wanna stress here that the story gives 1) a fresh outlook of things with 2) just the right pace and 3) covers every aspect of the waves that any event creates in a persons life.

Acting is decent, suspense in the story keeps it real enough.

This series comes from some seriously BIG production studios thus the stage set up for each action scene and camera work along with editing is just make it worth watching.

Among all the recent action TV Series out there this year, glad to find this one in the shadows.

Entertaining spy thriller
mholmez7 August 2020
I really enjoyed the first season of Condor, it has everything I enjoy in a TV series, action, suspense, plot twists, great acting and character development. If you like spy thrillers then this doesn't disappoint.

Season 2 however is more of a slow burn, there is less action than the first season but more suspense including a few twists and turns, it does however ramp up towards the end of the season and left me feeling satisfied.

I do hope the show is renewed for a third season.

Worth Watching
nowego17 June 2018
As a fan of the original movie starring Robert Redford and Faye Dunnaway, I started watching this with some apprehension hoping that the story was not treated too badly like other great movies that have been turned into TV series. Not many TV Shows that are based on movies or books that have been made into movies compare well. So far this does a pretty good job.

This review is written after watching 2 of the 10 episodes of the first season.

Max Irons is no Robert Redford and may never be, but he has done a reasonable job so far. Katherine Cunningham is pretty good and Leem Lubany looks good for her part and I have to assume she has taken the part played by Max von Sydow in the movie.

Much has been changed, but enough is the same to for me to want to see more and I will be watching to see the rest.

Enjoyable series

Warning: Spoilers
Years ago, I watched the Redford film Three Days of the Condor.

This show is a worthy successor to that movie. Max Irons does a very good job as Joe Turner, the analyst turned man on the run. William Hurt is aptly cast as Bob Partridge. The rest of the cast does well in their roles.

The exception is Joubert, in my opinion. This character could have been written better... and the actress is not the best choice for the role.

Spy thriller with a lots of potential, but towards the end losing its mojo
akcenat18 August 2018
Like the film, a mid-level CIA analyst, stumbles into the deepest reaches of dark operations, which results in all of his co-workers being killed. Not only is he on the run, but his boss, is convinced that someone in the CIA has to be responsible.

So, there are endless conspiracies and the villains are a bit on the nose. It isn't turn off your brain dumb, but it isn't gritty realism either. Although the show looks very slick, especially in the beginning, the script towards season finale falls into every amateur trap you can imagine. After all, this is an adaptation of an adaptation, so something definitely was lost in translation.

Promising start, average ending.

6/10 ... just because of William Hurt.

High paced fun!
muamba_eats_toast27 April 2020
I've never seen the film or read the book but I loved this series it just never let up high pace from start to finish plenty of twists and turns along the way and genuinely kept you guessing. Already excited for season 2. Only improvement would maybe have been an extra episode as the second half of the last episode did feel a little bit rushed to me personally but it still didn't ruin the episode or series as a whole. Certainly worth watching!

gorantornqvist-9786918 August 2020
Season 1 was great and I couldn't get enough. On episode 4 now season 2 and it's nothing like the first. Soooo sloooow ... They should have kept this as a mini series. ..

Warning: Spoilers
I might be alone in my low score. I see that many of you are saying it's the best thing on tv in a long time, but what about Jack Ryan or Spy? Bodyguard? Blacklist? I guess I'm not sure what is meant by "on tv." I'm usually not too much into spy shows, because it divides issues too starkly. There's always a good guy, which is patriotic and a bad guy that is usually another race, who is also patriotic. It's too predictable, but after the first episode it looked like the entire show would be the main guy being chased. They needed to elevate it. It's not that exciting with a lot of filler and people debating plots. We all know the debates, we've already decided terrorism is wrong. The lead guy's perspective isn't new or original.

Best thing on TV for a while. Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to a second season. Really wish some of the first season cast could have remained, but look forward to meeting some more.

When is season 2?
timonguerras18 April 2019
Dang I hate when they give a great show a short season then make you wait a long time before it picks up again. This has everything a good thriller needs. I could tell you all the good stuff but I don't want to ruin it for you.

One of the best series in a very long time!
onceshy12 July 2018
Finally....a suspenseful, edgy series that serves up a really entertaining, edge of your seat thriller, and it's on television! I am a great fan of the original movie, and Robert Redford was fantastic in the original. This made for television series is never meant to replace or duplicate the original. But it has done a great job of capturing the suspense and plot twists of the original, but expanding the storyline to turn it into a series. From the first episode, I was hooked, and really have looked forward to each new episode. I just watched tonight's episode and it did not disappoint! The acting has been good, the writing and production qualities have been better than most of the shows and even the motion pictures that I've seen in a while. I never post ratings, but had to make an exception for this one, as it is worth praise!

The best new spy drama as Condor is really the real deal and Homelands successor
Br4ve-trave1or30 July 2020
I believe when it comes to any dramas, I have a great eye for the good series to the incredible dramas.

I am STUNNED by the negative reviews pertaining to season two. While I REALLY feel this series deserves a 9, I cant get past or forgive the writers for being overzealous not substituting the Russians. Yeah sure, some scenes spoken in Russian you can get a feel for with the context surrounding the scene, but with most, you are just watching Telemundo.

However, the reason s1 is a solid 10 is because these same writers, that have wrote respectful series before, wrote the hell out of it resulting in EVERY episode captivating.

It felt so fresh. A new breathe with what we've become accustomed to watching. The characters are written beautifully in this series but the BEST attribute to this shows depth is it's all out for EVERY character being killed etc.

Not many showrunners have the guts that this series does having NO PROBLEM killing off important people that you will care about. All shows that consist of this kind of fearless writing are most likely excellent shows.

The twists and turns, of course but again, a fresh breathe at how they capture and execute everything so flawlessly, more so s1.

S1 is a 10. S2 in all honesty is no where near as bad as people are saying. Sure, everything is subjective but please listen to me and watch this series because you will be lost for three days in a binge attack.

Only problem is unfortunately not a good platform picked this up, despite its wonderful production, audience network sucks ass bc many people, most, do not have access to it bc why would you. Their best series are Kingdom, one of my personal fav series, and Condor.

William Hurt was brilliant as always and Max Irons is a savage and the new modern day Ryan Phillippe. Incredible acting across the board.

This series is amazing please dont miss out!

Good plot ruined by interpersonal relationships
jumpmuffin29 June 2018
Like too many TV thrillers they pad the run time with dialogue that does not contribute to the plot. Hit men discussing the philosophy of what they do. Characters who have already established dislike for each other, doing it again. Lingering shots of people feeling something, but the script and acting give no indication of what that might be. Dull and lengthy Family interactions. I like plot with a bit of character development. This has a fine plot but character development is people looking out a window or pacing. William Hurt is a great actor. He makes even the mundane interesting. But the other actors need something to be actually going on to be compelling. Record this so you can skip ahead 10 seconds at a time to get past the parts that you don't need to watch.

Basic Hollywood Trap
razan-alrowais6 November 2018
I made the mistake of watching this after I watched "Bodyguard"...Huge mistake. I would suggest you watch either "killing eve" or "Bodyguard" and not this predictable cheesy show unless predictable is your thing of course. I liked Leem Lubany from Omar but sorry her acing here is so bad :( along with everyone in the CIA.. Max Irons is the most decent one here but he fails as well due to the cheezy music along with him running.

I would wish one time you do your research well of the muslim/arab world, why wouldn't you just ask Lubany :(( *You can't have multiple people speaking lousy broken arabic and NONE of them share the same accent..oh and none were Saudi either. lol *You actually can go into Makkah without a male relative of yours (suprise!) *You cannot stay in a hotel while you're doing Hajj, you stay in a camp. Wealthy ppl stay in a fancy camp. but hotels are just so far away!! check booking next time. *and I save the best for last.. in a scene where u showed ppl praying infront of Kaabah, they had space between each other. This never is the case, every imam says before the prayer that ppl should stick to each other and form one line..in EVERY mosque, let alone the holy mosque. That was really funny to watch. Again, why did't you ask Lubany.. I'm sure she knew all of this. but yeah I bet you only care about the views and not the actual content. Basic Hollywood.

Watched the first episode - AWESOME!
Intrigue. Excitement. Mystery. Action. I may be overrating this, but it's at least an 8. So much better than 95% of the stuff on TV.

Watch the first episode. I guarantee you'll watch the second.

This genius sure makes bad decisions
denny32130 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
As a big fan of the film "Three Days of the Condor", I greeted the TV adaptation with a mixture of hope and apprehension. The plotline of the film was so taut I wondered how it could be stretched out into a series. After watching the first seven episodes, I learned the answer: they padded it out with nonsense.

Joe Turner is purportedly a genius but the decisions he makes are beyond poor. With full knowledge that rogue CIA assassins and every law enforcement agency in Washington DC is on his trail, he proceeds day after day to go visit everyone he knows, putting himself and all of his friends and relatives in grave danger. Apparently he does this because "cracking the case" is more important to him than the personal safety of himself and his loved ones.

With a trusted uncle who happens to be a highly ranked CIA agent, Joe could easily pass along his knowledge of the conspiracy and let the pros handle it while he disappears into the woodwork. But instead he insists on playing Nancy Drew, and puts himself and everyone around him at risk.

All of these bad decisions are necessary so the producers can satisfy what they seem to perceive as the viewers' relentless thirst for strained relationships, clever plot twists and endless backstory in lieu of plausible drama. "Condor" is not so much an adaptation of either the novel or the film as it is an implantation of their basic premise into the template of "Prison Break" or "Shooter", two series that obviously provided inspiration for this muddled mess, and that suffer from the same combination of overstretched plot and not enough good ideas to sustain them.

A second rate writing team should never attempt to portray a character as a genius. They'll only end up exposing their own limitations.

Its a really good and intense show. Just a few flaws, like The little hitman"girl" Who aint beliavable at all, rest of the actors are doin OK. Gettin silly to put females to be The worst killers/murderers in every show, pathetic actually... Otherwise a good show

I love this so far. Story Line not that different than many Government Corruption series stories but so far the intensity , action, and Characters are a cut above average. Worth the watch. Best series for me in a while and I binge a lot.
