Fun and bustling comedy about an unlucky young who carries out a kidnapping at a video club
ma-cortes5 April 2020
It begins when young Rai : Santi Bayon, a videoclub owner, learns his girlfriend leaves him to go working to Malmo, Sweden. Shortly after, a fifty-year old man entering at the shop and threatening to kill, but he falls down, then Rai decides to abduct eight hostages at his video club. He only wishes a simple request : he wants to see his sweetheart again. A few roles appearlng at the movie and being kidnapped : a wheel-chair geek young in charge of the video club along with a young girl , a wedding couple, a mature assailant, and while a rogue teen manages to broadcasting alive everything that happens from the inside and furthermore, a police inspector who interrogates to Rai. All of them result in turning the kidnapping into a media circus and social networks, twitter, instagram, whasapp, with thousands of followers. On the other hand the hostages are divided between those who are in favor of staying interested in the situation of Ray and those who prefer to return home.

Funny and bemusing comedy in low budget and short running time, approx one hour. It deals with a bungling kidnapping , including hilarious set pieces, disconcerting scenes, twists and turns. There are some nice jokes at the movie and the unknown and newcomer cast make cosy fit .This is a juvenile and embarrassing, at times, account of botcher people in grotesque situations, packing silly incidents, funny plot twists, and, above all, humor.

It takes a simple concept a bungler kidnap, planned and executed by an enamored young depeloped into a closed location in similar style to other Spanish films that were located at banks, Bares or Estancos as the classy "Atraco las tres by Jose Maria Forque or its sequel Atraco a las 3 y media by Raul Marchand, La Estanquera de Vallecas by Eloy de la Iglesia, Hermana pero que has hecho? by Pedro Maso with Lina Morgan, El Palo by Eva Lesmes, and El bar by Alex de la Iglesia" . And at the movie the characters while talking, they regard the following films : "Swordfish by Dominic Sena, John Q by Cassavetes and Dog day afternoon by Sidney Lumet" , though the film is more "Clerks by Kevin Smith" style than the previous movies . The motion picture was regularly directed by Pedro Abreu .Rating : average 5/10, but it will appeal to youngsters.
