I love Brokenwood mysteries, and I have watched every single episode, in all (so far) seven series many times.
This one is my all time favourite. The writing, scenery and acting are brilliant and so funny. And the elder people (some with early dementia) are simply so sweet and lovely.
Here is the old man who keeps forgetting that his son has been killed. An elderly lady is playing and winning poker with "the charming young man with the beautiful red hair".(Breen)
Another old dear uses her walker to move fast inside the nursing home. She speeds up every time a policeman gets close.
My favourite is George, Kahlu's uncle. He is so full of love and kindness and he has to hug and cuddle with everyone he sees, including Mike.
We also get to meet the paranoid neighbour to the nursing home, a young man Christopher Kramer, who has something captured on his CCTV that may crack the case. Its just that what he has on film is so extraordinary that its hard to figure out what it is. Or maybe, Batman is really an alien?
The murder, mystery, scenery and most of all, the characters, makes this an absolute 10/10.
