- Ava Sharpe: What do you mean you already have a link to Sara's soul?
- John Constantine: Well, let's just say our souls have been one. Leaves a metaphysical connection, love.
- Ava Sharpe: Don't call me "love."
- John Constantine: Oh, pardon me. Pet.
- Ava Sharpe: Sara and I also share a very, very strong metaphysical connection, so...
- Gary Green: Wait. I can't believe... you both slept with Captain Lance?
- Ava Sharpe: Gary.
- John Constantine: Did we, now? Well, then, we both have excellent taste in damaged women.
- Ava Sharpe: Sara's not damaged.
- John Constantine: Yeah. And I'm the bloody Pope.
- John Constantine: What you have got on your socks there, squire?
- Gary Green: Oh, it's Beebo. My Aunt Stacy bought them for me. Do you like Beebo?
- John Constantine: Once, I was on a massive bender, I put a spell on that toy to make him talk. He told me things that'll make your toes curl.
- Gary Green: Oh, like what?
- Ava Sharpe: Okay, Sara's soul is trapped in the realm of a demon and her ship and entire crew are lost in time. Who cares about Beebo?
- John Constantine: Well, his Aunt Stacy does. You're wound tight as a bloody drum, aren't you, love? Pardon me. Pet. You know, you need to loosen up. And then the work just flows.
- Ava Sharpe: Oh, is that work you're doing? Sorry, I couldn't tell.
- John Constantine: This isn't exactly a paint-by-number spell for locating a spaceship floating through a temporal stream. My business card says "master of the dark arts", not "Doctor Ruddy What's-His-Face."
- Ava Sharpe: Who?
- Gary Green: Who.
- John Constantine: Exactly.
- Ava Sharpe: So, who's John?
- Sara Lance: What?
- Ava Sharpe: Soon as you called out his name in your sleep, and I was trying very hard not to be jealous.
- Sara Lance: Oh. No, it's... it's probably John Constantine. He's a demonologist that helped me with Mallus. And he kind of looks like Sting.
- Ava Sharpe: And he's just a... just a friend.
- Sara Lance: Yeah, you could say that. Though we did sleep togther, but...
- [Ava groans]
- Sara Lance: It was the '60s, and everybody was getting wild.
- Ava Sharpe: The '60s, huh?
- Sara Lance: Mm-hmm.
- Ava Sharpe: I thought I waited a long time between partners.
- Sara Lance: The year was 1969, but... it was, like, three weeks ago.
- Ava Sharpe: Three weeks?
- Sara Lance: Yeah, well, three weeks before I had a girlfriend.
- Ava Sharpe: Did you just call me your girlfriend?
- Sara Lance: Maybe. I mean, why not? John's fun.
- Ava Sharpe: Oh, please don't talk about John.
- Sara Lance: Well, he is no Ava Sharpe.
- Wally West: Hey, what happens if we don't repair history?
- Ray Palmer: Working theory: time is frappéd together like a smoothie, so instead of just dealing with Julius Caesar in Aruba, we have to fight off Genghis Khan, a herd of wooly mammoths, and a swarm of locusts from the Old Testament.
- Nate Heywood: And Mallus is freed from time jail, so he could rule over this giant mess.
- Wally West: Mm. So, worse than Flashpoint?
- Ray Palmer: Uh, is that what we're calling the thing that Barry did?
- Wally West: Mm-hmm.
- Ray Palmer: I think it's something similar.
- Sara Lance: Do me a favor, Gideon, get John Constantine on the line.
- Gideon: I'm afraid Mr. Constantine does not currently own a phone.
- Sara Lance: Because God forbid he'd do anything normal.
- Ava Sharpe: You know what, Gary? Let's just get out of here, because Mr. Constantine has wasted enough of our time.
- John Constantine: [finding a foot in his coat pocket] Oh, that's where you are.
- [kissing it]
- John Constantine: You beauty.
- Ava Sharpe: Okay, so you have a foot, but you don't have a phone? I-I just... I really don't understand how Sara could've...
- John Constantine: What, shagged me in a mental institution?
- Ava Sharpe: [disgusted] Oh, my god!
- John Constantine: Ah, you have nothing to be jealous about.
- Ava Sharpe: I am not jealous! I'm just...
- [restraining herself from strangling him]
- Ava Sharpe: Ugh. Okay, maybe I'm a little bit jealous.
- Amaya Jiwe: [Sara rubs her temple in pain] Are you okay?
- Sara Lance: Yeah, do... I'm fine. All right, that's it. No snazzy send-off. Mama's got a headache.
- Nate Heywood: Even when you don't try, you still got it.
- Ava Sharpe: John Constantine, age 36, one older sister, both parents deceased. Huh. He's part of the Newcastle crew. He accidentally summoned a demon that dragged a child, Astra Logue, into Hell. Sounds like a real weirdo.
- Gary Green: He's a warlock. You know, I happen to be a level nine warlock.
- Ava Sharpe: "Dungeons & Dragons" doesn't count, Gary.
- John Constantine: [capturing a rooster loose in his loft] Oh, there you are. All right, aww, nice one, lad. Oh, you're a feisty little bastard, aren't you? Are you guys from Housing co-op? Because it's perfectly legal to win an apartment in a duel.
- Ava Sharpe: We're here about Sara Lance.
- John Constantine: [handing the chicken back] Ah. Right, well, uh, Mrs. Veras, we will have to continue the ritual tomorrow. But not to worry, luv. We'll have your son married in no time, all right?
- Mrs. Veras: Gracias, Señor Constantine.
- John Constantine: [closing the door behind her] It's a gig economy. I have to take the work where I can find it, you know?
- Ava Sharpe: I don't understand. Who sleeps with a warlock and then turns around and starts calling me her girlfriend?
- Gary Green: She called you her girlfriend?
- Ava Sharpe: Yeah. And I really wanna believe her.
- Gary Green: But?
- Ava Sharpe: But I don't think that Sara's really a one-woman woman.
- John Constantine: Well, if the price of admission is looking like a fool or getting your heart broken, then, well, I'd say Ms. Lance is pretty well worth it.
- Amaya Jiwe: This totem wasn't meant for me. You have to use it.
- Mick Rory: Forget it.
- Amaya Jiwe: You've spent your entire life obsessed with fire and heat. What if this is the reason why?
- Mick Rory: How many times do I have to tell you I'm not a hero? Sara's a hero, and look what the Death totem did to her.
- Amaya Jiwe: That was the work of Mallus. Most people who've seen what you've seen would've succumbed to darkness, but you didn't. You chose to become a Legend. You may try and hide it, Mick, but you're a good man.
- Mick Rory: What if you're wrong?
- Amaya Jiwe: There's only one way to find out.
- Ava Sharpe: Sara? I know you are still in there. You are the strongest, most fearless person I've ever met, and you never back down. Don't you remember? When did a Legend ever go quietly? I'm here. I'm here, Sara, and I need you to come back to me. I need you to come home.
- Ava Sharpe: Listen, I can't pretend to understand what you went through, or... or what happened to you, but I know that wasn't you, Sara.
- Sara Lance: That's just it. That was me. Just like fire is to Rory, there is part of me that... it's always been there. And I really tried to pretend that that wasn't true. But deep down, I am death.
- Ava Sharpe: No. Sara, okay, so we can fight that part of you together. Just tell me what to do.
- Sara Lance: Hey. Ava, you read my file.
- Ava Sharpe: But I still showed up at that restaurant, in that horribly uncomfortable dress trying to impress you, because I don't care about your past, Sara.
- Sara Lance: Well, maybe you should. You are wonderful. And I... and I've never been this happy in my life.
- Ava Sharpe: But this doesn't look happy.
- Sara Lance: Look, I don't deserve you.
- Ava Sharpe: Yes, Sara, yes, you do.
- Sara Lance: No, Ava, I don't. You deserve better. You deserve so much better. And I care about you, but... I'm not gonna do this. I won't.
- Ava Sharpe: Sara.
- Sara Lance: I'm sorry.
- [last lines]
- Gary Green: [hosting his D&D friends] Fresh from a successful crusade, our team knew the fight was far from over. In fact, the true battle was only just beginning. In order to defeat the demon and his cabal of evil, we need to be at full strength, which is going to be hard given the losses we sustained on our last quest. Some wounds are so deep, they never truly heal. So the question is, are you prepared to join us on this mission most deadly?
- John Constantine: [taking the die Gary offers] Well, tonight, squire, I'm all yours.
- Ava Sharpe: [Sara wakes from a nightmare] Here I thought you gave nightmares, not have them.
- Sara Lance: First time for everything.
- Sara Lance: So, Z and Amaya, you take the time courier to Billings, Montana in 1997. The Mona Lisa is about to make a very special appearance on the Antiques Roadshow. Nate and I will pick up Einstein in the Ice Age, and you two are on the jumpship to... find and return a dog named Laika to the Soviet space program.
- Mick Rory: No.
- Sara Lance: Excuse me?
- Mick Rory: I'm not chasing a Ruskie pooch.
- Ray Palmer: Uh, I could actually use Mick's help re-formig the Fire totem.
- Sara Lance: Fine. Nate, you go with Wally, and I'll go get Einstein alone.
- Sara Lance: It calls to you, doesn't it? The Death totem chose you.
- [seeing an apparition of herself as the Black Canary]
- Sara Lance: You're...
- Sara Lance: [B.C] You. After you died.
- Sara Lance: This is the Death totem.
- Sara Lance: [B.C] It yearns for a new bearer. Imagine all you could do with dominion over the dead. You could banish that little girl from your dreams, bring back your sister.
- Sara Lance: I'm no totem bearer.
- [the apparition vanishes]
- Sara Lance: [B.C] You've conquered your demons. You're strong enough to wield it. Pick up the totem, Sara. It's the only way to defeat Mallus. The six totems need six totem bearers. Who else on your team was born to wield death?
- Zari Tomaz: Gideon, we need to reach Sara. I-is there any way to message her in the Ice Age?
- Gideon: There's no need. The jumpship never left its hangar.
- Sara Lance: Amaya?
- Mallus: She can't hear you.
- Sara Lance: Mallus.
- Mallus: You've always secretly feared you're a monster. And now, a monster is what you've become.
- Nate Heywood: What happened?
- Mick Rory: It's Sara. She's wearing the Death thingy.
- Zari Tomaz: The Death totem? Why would Elvis' totem make Sara evil?
- Amaya Jiwe: The totems work by amplifying the true nature of... of whoever wears them.
- Zari Tomaz: But Constantine warned Ray that Mallus' power was inside Sara. Make he's taken her over.
- Wally West: So, if Elvis could raise the dead with a totem, what could a former assassin connected to a demon be capable of?
- Ava Sharpe: Hey, um, so I was thinking about the whole GF conversation we had earlier, and I...
- [seeing Sara is different]
- Ava Sharpe: Whoa. You look... uh, good, great. Just sometimes these holo-feeds can really wash out your skin. Did you do something different with your hair?
- Ava Sharpe: What the hell is going on here? Mr. Rory, would you please move?
- Amaya Jiwe: Sara's bonded with the Death totem.
- Ava Sharpe: What?
- Nate Heywood: We think Mallus tricked her into wearing it.
- Ava Sharpe: Look, the woman on that bridge was not Sara. All I care about right now is getting her back.
- Amaya Jiwe: We need to find John Constantine.
- Ava Sharpe: The demonologist?
- Nate Heywood: Yeah, I know, he wears his tie a little too loose for my liking, but he has saved Sara from Mallus before.
- Mick Rory: Door's locked. I'm gonna kill that witch!
- Amaya Jiwe: If you kill her, then Sara dies, too.
- Mick Rory: Better her than me.
- Nate Heywood: Dude, how can you say that?
- Mick Rory: By moving my lips.
- Jesse Wells: Wally. Hey. Never thought we'd see each other again. You look good.
- Wally West: This isn't you. You're not real.
- Jesse Wells: You sure about that?
- Wally West: Yeah. I've seen apparitions before.
- Jesse Wells: You know, I remember the first night I said "I love you." We were in the back seat of your car. You acted like you couldn't hear me.
- Wally West: Yeah, 'cause I couldn't understand why someone like you would love me.
- Jesse Wells: Why not?
- Wally West: Oh, come on, Jesse.
- Jesse Wells: Wally, you're a good-looking guy. Great smile. I know you've had girlfriends before me.
- Wally West: None of them were you. You're everything. You're, like, an actual genius, and the family you come from, and then I...
- Jesse Wells: You're just a speed junkie with a drug addict for a mom? I wonder why it didn't work out between us.
- Wally West: Oh, um, so you're just here to hurt me? Well, you can't. I'm... I'm actually glad that you broke my heart. You know, I traveled because of you. I found some kind of inner peace. I made new friends. One day, I'm gonna fall in love with someone, and that person isn't gonna be you.
- Jesse Wells: Well said. Unfortunately...
- Mallus: I can hurt you.
- Ava Sharpe: I'm here to save Sara. She's bonded with the Death totem.
- John Constantine: Oh, bollocks.
- Ava Sharpe: What does that mean?
- Gary Green: Oh, it's a British expletive used to...
- Ava Sharpe: I know what "bollocks" means, Gary. What did you mean by it?
- John Constantine: Well, about this so-called Death totem. Recently, whilst heavily influenced by ayahuasca, I came to learn why the sixth lost tribe of Zambesi was stricken from the oral record. This lost tribe, which had been entrusted to watch over the domain of the dead, sided with Mallus while the other five tribes rallied to imprison him, perhaps explaning why the Death totem is inextricably linked with our demon friend.
- Nate Heywood: Wally, can you hear me? Wally, talk to me, man.
- Mick Rory: Kid's dead.
- Nate Heywood: I gotta go after him.
- Amaya Jiwe: Just be careful out there.
- Nate Heywood: If I'm not back in five minutes...
- Zari Tomaz: Just wait longer?
- Nate Heywood: No, come rescue me.
- John Constantine: Sara's soul is likely trapped in Mallus' realm. Now, usually, I have to cast the demon into myself to rescue her, but luckily, I already have a link to Sara's soul. So I'll enlist Aken, the Eygptian ferryman of the dead.
- Zari Tomaz: So, any sign of the captain, Nate?
- Nate Heywood: No, but I found Wally.
- Amaya Jiwe: Is he...
- Nate Heywood: Alive. Sara must have shot him with the anti-speedster gun.
- Mick Rory: We're gonna need a bigger medbay.
- Zari Tomaz: Sorry, Gideon, this is gonna hurt you more than me.
- Behran: Zari?
- Zari Tomaz: Behran.
- Behran: I can't sleep. Will you read me a story, Zari?
- Zari Tomaz: No, no, this is... this is the Death totem messing with my mind. You're not real.
- Behran: Of course I am. Please. You know the one. "The Prince of Timbuktu."
- Zari Tomaz: [fighting back tears] Please stop.
- Behran: "The Prince of Timbuktu took a swim in the ocean blue."
- Zari Tomaz, Behran: "He met a tortoise who told him his purpose was to be the king of Timbuktu."
- Zari Tomaz: Behran. Goodbye.
- Gary Green: Our sorcereress was missing, feared dead.
- Ava Sharpe: Gary, how does any of this help us find Sara and the Legends?
- John Constantine: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Let the man finish his story, all right? As you were, mate.
- Gary Green: Zanatar the Unburnt wielded the Death Sword, one of the Six Swords of Sorrow. To defeat him, we needed...
- John Constantine: Another of the Six Swords.
- Amaya Jiwe: Mick and I will find Zari.
- Nate Heywood: All right, and I'll go get the Earth totem.
- Mick Rory: You're gonna die.
- Gary Green: The point of my story is even though we were defeated by Zanatar, we were able to track the mystical object he was wielding.
- John Constantine: The Sword of bloody Sorrow. Ahh. Mwah!
- [he kisses Gary full on the mouth]
- John Constantine: You are a bloody genius, Barry.
- Gary Green: Gary.
- John Constantine: Gary, right.
- John Constantine: I need the vial from my desk, mother's tears, and my ruination stones, and from you, Ava, I'm gonna need...
- Ava Sharpe: Oh, please don't say it.
- John Constantine: The foot.
- Sara Lance: You know, it's a shame that you had to join the family business. You were a sweet kid.
- Nora Darhk: Last time we were here, I was a little girl, but I was never sweet. Your friend Oliver made sure of that when he killed my father.
- Sara Lance: Oliver's not responsible for the path that you chose.
- Nora Darhk: You're right. You see, Sara, you and I, we're alike. The darkness has always been within us.
- Spanish Man: [Sara turns and witnesses a memory from her past] Please. Ra's al Ghul... Ra's al Ghul will never know you let me live.
- Girl: [shrieking as Sara kills him] Papi!
- Nora Darhk: Once a killer, always a killer.
- Nora Darhk: Why are you crying, Sara? You've done nothing wrong. Imagine what you could do if you just released your guilt. You can't erase your past, Sara, so just embrace it.
- Sara Lance: You want me to join your team.
- Nora Darhk: It's your destiny. Eons ago, the sixth tribe of Zambesi defended Mallus from their brethren. Their tribe wielded the Death totem. Now the cycle's starting again. You weren't just born to wield the Death totem, Sara. You were born to wield the Death totem for Mallus.
- Amaya Jiwe: Nathaniel? Nathaniel, where are you?
- [no response]
- Amaya Jiwe: Right, the Fire totem's our last chance to defeat her.
- Zari Tomaz: Oh, and here I thought escaping to the jumpship was a good plan.
- Amaya Jiwe: I don't care what she's done. I'm not abandoning Sara or anyone else on this team.
- Mick Rory: Well, too bad. You're down a leg, and you look like a cat stuck in the dryer.
- Zari Tomaz: That's not funny. I love cats.
- Nate Heywood: Get a grip, Nate. That's not your grandfather.
- Henry Heywood: Houston, 1970. I wanted to be with my wife and son, but you convinced me that was impossible. You were relieved when I blew the cargo bay door.
- Nate Heywood: I didn't want you to die.
- Henry Heywood: You were desperate to save your own hide. And what have you made of yourself, boy? You're a damn disappointment to your father, and you're sure as hell a disappointment to me.
- [he punches Nate]
- Henry Heywood: You think Amaya loves you?
- [he punches Nate again]
- Henry Heywood: You're not worthy of her love.
- Mallus: [speaking through Sara] There's somebody who wants to talk to you, John.
- Astra: John?
- John Constantine: You glamoured your voice. That's the oldest bloody trick in the book.
- Astra: You don't remember me? I know it's been a long time.
- John Constantine: Astra.
- Astra: Mallus will free me from hell, but you have to give him Sara. A life for a life. You know better than anybody. Magic always has a price.
- Sara Lance: You saved me again.
- Ava Sharpe: I had a little help.
- John Constantine: [off the fireball Mick is holding] Well, while we're here, uh... a light?
- Sara Lance: If you thought Mallus really would've freed Astra, you would have traded me, wouldn't you?
- John Constantine: In a heartbeat.
- Sara Lance: Yeah.
- John Constantine: Well, what can I say? I'm a nasty piece of work.
- John Constantine: You know, there's a reason why I prefer to walk this path alone. It's, uh, so I don't have to share with anyone how lost I really am. But you're not alone, are you, Sara?
- Sara Lance: Maybe I should be.
- John Constantine: She's a good one. Try not to hurt her.
- Sara Lance: That's what I'm afraid of.
- Sara Lance: I'm sorry, everyone. I'm really sorry.
- Nate Heywood: It's good to have you back, Captain.
- Zari Tomaz: Yeah, because evil you is a pain in the ass to fight.
