So after an impressive final few episodes leading into the break, Legends finally returned and to expectedly mixed results. On one hand, I found Matt Ryan's return as John Constantine to be full of charisma and fresh energy, but I ultimately did not care for the exorcism based plot.

It's always nice to see the show attempt at new genres and while the show flirted with a horror-themed episode a few times in the front half of this season, 'Daddy Darhkest' was most certainly a full-blown horror episode. However, there's no denying that this episode is riddled with horror cliches and uninspired plot choices. To this point in the season, I haven't been outright upset with the show's use of Damien Darhk, but it often feels unnecessary. With the revelation that Mallus is the true big bad of this season, I'm beginning to care less and less about Darhk and his daughter's whereabouts.

Sure, it's always fun to watch Neal McDonough do his thing, but the wandering direction this season feels indicative of the Arrowverse year as a whole. Hopefully the rest of the season can regain its focus and deliver the best season on CW so far in the 2017-2018 TV year. Albeit, that's not saying a whole lot.

Great ep picked up right where it left off, setting up the rest of the season in re to Sara/Amaya/Kuasa/Nora Darhk, sending off Leo but leaving the door open for his return, the nods to Firestorm and Mick as back up captain, just the right amount of humor that provides a breather without derailing the story, and of course Constantine. If he can't get his show back, he really should get an arc each season he fitted that well with team.

Score: 9

Bring back Constantine!!

Another fun episode which moves along swiftly and is funny to boot. Really enjoyed the horror elements taking centrestage for once. As a fan of the show that was cancelled by NBC after just one season, it was great to catch up with our favourite cigarette-smoking warlock (his last appearance on Arrow seems like a lifetime ago). Keeping fingers crossed that the CW will revive the show, and go where the mainstream network was afraid to trod, such as JC's sexually adventurous side, and him actually lighting up his ciggie on screen.

I personally really like the way the show producer try new genre now and then on this show. It allows the viewers to be freshened about the show's plot. Though time traveling is the main reason why this show existed I just love to see different genre within a show like this one.

I agree with the user below me about Damien Darhk. I love to see the actor's performance, but in my opinion seeing him this much in the show reminds of Arrow, which isn't something I really want. His presence is superfluous it would be nice if they send him off somewhere and/or kill him off. That way, it will allow new characters to have a chance to join the show,

Sum of parts better than whole

Great to get Constantine back. They did a great job with all the characters this episode and focusing more on Nora and Mollas, making you sympathetic for one and terrified of the other.

The downside is that the main plot taking place in the asylum was weakly paced. The time travel and the use of the head psychiatrist all seemed arbitrary and unnecessary.

Finally a good ep in the series...not saying much

Warning: Spoilers
John Constantine has become more regular in the series and since DC never continued his epic solo show from years back, this move to have the character in another of their shows was a smart move. Plus he gets with the hottest chick on the team. NOICE ^~^ 7/10

Time of the Season

This was a very good episode of "Legends of Tomorrow," mainly because of one specific thing ... or person! John Constantine is one of the best supporting characters in the Arrowverse. I wasn't that big of a fan of his solo show, but I always liked the character, and I think he has some huge potential as a recurring characters between these shows. His presence in this episode was great and it fit into the storyline that they have going this season with Mallus, who is a supernatural being. Right from the opening scene, he proved how much of a badass he actually is, and he didn't disappoint throughout the episode. He had some great moments and there were some great references to his own solo show, mentioning the young girl Astra who had a big role in his own show. I like that he is still connected to that show, but I think he is way better in this type of role.

I liked that the team is still a little shaken up about Jax's departure and Stein's death. Personally, I didn't think it was necessary for Jax to leave the show, but I understand that it gave some emotional punch to these characters, and I liked that there was still a somber atmosphere after their departure. It isn't mentioned that often, but there is a nice little scene between Zari and Ray where they give a little nod to the fact that they are now missing two team members.

I will also say thank you to Wentworth Miller for returning for these few episodes as a very enjoyable character, who gave the other members some great motivation. He didn't have that huge part in this episode, which disappointed me a little bit given that it is his final appearance, but I did enjoy the fact that he at least had something to do. I also liked his goodbye scene with Mick a lot, because it gave the characters a way to reconcile after everything that went down between them in the two first seasons. It was nice to see them as friends again, and not as enemies or something in-between that.

This episode also gave Mallus some development, and we learned that he is afraid of the six totems. I like that progress, and I also liked that they gave a good explanation as to why he decided to take over Nora Darhk and not a different host. Their explanation made sense and I liked that it did. I will say that the doctor who took care of Nora was a bad character. Not in the sense that she was a villain, but simply not a well-written character. I didn't like her personality and I thought they had a little too much crazy sprinkled in there with her.

This episode has some good humor, including a very funny running joke with Constantine and his smoking habbit. However, there were also some very cheesy moments, and those were the moments that I didn't really like. I didn't find them to fit in this episode, which was actually a bit darker than I thought it would be. It had a scary wipe to it, which I really enjoyed, so the cheesy moments fell flat for me there.

One of the things that landed the wrong way in this episode was the Legends seemed incredibly dumb. The worst possible idea ever is to take the possessed girl out for coffee instead of leaving her at the insane asylum, yet Zari and Ray thought that was a brilliant idea and decided to go with that. Stupid! Also, Amaya didn't have to go and talk to Kuasa and she should have known better than to do so. Nothing good ever comes out of talking to someone who probably can't be saved at this point, and then just letting her go afterwards, was a worse decision. I hope this trope doesn't continue and that the Legends get a bit of their A-game powers back.

I also didn't really buy the relationship between Sara and Constantine. It felt very rushed and like something unrealistic. It didn't bother me that much as it made for some funny jokes, but I don't want them hooking up to be a recurring thing if he ever appears again.

That woman can find lesbians everywhere
vathraq24 July 2018
Look, I don't mind homosexuality in any TV show...but what's with getting Sara Lance a new girlfriend every episode?

In fact she's had more girlfriends in three seasons than ALL the other characters combined.

Give me a break, it's not as easy to find a homosexual partner as these writers seem to think.

I suspect that the writers just found a pretty woman who would kiss another woman on-screen and decided to milk it for all that it was worth.

Is this an episode of The Legends or Supernatural? I think they are running out of story lines.
