Terrible, Annoying Show
rodatkinson-716465 March 2017
I lean left. The trump era is ripe for comedy. It writes itself. This show does not take advantage of that. It's too preachy. Too self-absorbed. Too agenda oriented. I enjoy Colbert, Jon Stewart, SNL and all the other shows that take prez cheeto to task, but this show? This show simply sucks.

DRIVEL -- 1. saliva flowing from the mouth, or mucus from the nose; slaver. 2. childish, silly, or meaningless talk or thinking; nonsense; twaddle.

I looked forward to this show, and had high hopes for it. We have a large group of friends that are a part of the LGBTQ community, and thought that the show would be a voice for these groups, and bring to light fun issues that people have to deal with. Boy what a let down! It reminds me of a VERY bad high school skit that was thrown together at the last moment. The gay host is atrocious, obnoxious, not funny in the least, and almost every word that comes out of his mouth is a gross exaggeration, or an outright lie. He is like a rich bitchy little school girl who just can't keep her opinion to her self. And speaking of ladies, what is the female host's trip. She is like a spastic schizophrenic that has forgotten to take her medication. The show on the whole makes about as much sense as a bag full of doorknob parts. I am still trying to figure out how to block this show without blocking the entire TVLAND channel. It is so bad that I don't even want my satellite dish to receive the signal from space. On the whole, I gave it a 1 in the rating, but only because there are no negative numbers in the IMDb rating system. I think there are a lot of issues and events that could be dealt with with this type of show, and it could be done well, but this show delivers nothing but DRIVEL!

Awful on every level

The show just isn't funny. The idea that a 30 something very gay man is always cute and a 40 something year old matronly, single, and preachy woman is funny just doesn't fly here. Together the chemistry doesn't work, she is annoying, loud and often wrong. He is simply not funny and not overly intelligent. The old sitcom Dharma and Greg about a straight Jewish woman and a gay lawyer was well done, funny, and the chemistry worked. People liked it because they were easy to love both apart and together. To make this combination work in a comedy "talk show", there has to be a good balance of chemistry but also requires an openness by the cast to accept criticism and be open minded to the audiences difference of opinion. Being loud and stereotypical can work but not here. They don't work. Really hard to watch and hopefully people won't have to much longer.

Understand Progressive Politics
DiscoVinyl15 February 2017
I've been listening to their podcasts for several years. It's always enjoyable and funny. Generally their political information doesn't break any new ground. It's usually stuff I've already heard somewhere else first. But in any case I think they are informative and can shed some insight on topics that sometimes get brushed over.

The Throwing Shade t.v. show features some skits that sometimes work and sometimes don't. But I appreciate them in any case. There really isn't very much of this type of comedy being done, particularly on television.

Don't trust the score. This program is clearly being trolled because it has a particular audience. As far as it being false news that couldn't be farther then the truth. There is enough going on out there in the news that there sure is no need to be faking the news. Particularly by this pair who've got a reputation to preserve. Yes they are comics but this isn't propaganda. It's mostly preaching to the choir.

Unfunny- failed left-wing attempt at humor. The hosts need to learn that they are not in their teens anymore.

Horrible, and unfunny. The show is nothing more than a pathetic attempt at slanted, left-wing humor, and they have failed badly. Half the statements are false, and the other half is just not funny at all. Added to the uncomfortably cringe-worthy vibe are the two hosts, who reminded me of a couple of middle-aged adults trying way too hard to be cool, and fit in with the "in crowd". Hopefully this pathetic fiasco will get the boot soon. Just garbage.

Hilarious, pointed, needed.

Bryan and Erin do an excellent job of representing minorities in their fight for equal rights and against the bigotry and hate that's so rampant right now. Clearly, that bigotry and hate seeped over to IMDb (because apparently, no place on the internet is sacred) (not that IMDb was sacred to being with, but still) and the trolls are out in full force. As soon as the word 'fake news' comes out in a review, I immediately see a Trumpett drowning in a sea of MAGA hats. It would be great if instead of one-star bombing an excellent show, they could point out the so called 'fake news' points and leave a constructive review.

Then again, when have Trumpetters ever done anything constructive?

I sincerely hope this show stays on the air because these two provide a much-needed voice in television!

Could be so much better

Warning: Spoilers
From the start it's all about patting neo-liberals on the back, full of inaccurate information, perpetuating the fake news media narrative. There is so much real material if you want to be a partisan observer and just attack the other half of the country, but they just decided to go the easiest way. I really tried to watch it, but nothing was funny and I was constantly annoyed by lies. Trump is such an easy target if you just use the actual things he has done and said, why make things up to portrait him like a monster from a book? Is that like a mainstream thing now, and they just jumped the wagon to cash in on it? Same thing could have been done without it. This kind of behavior only widens the gap between people. It makes things more viral, for sure. Is that what entertainment has fallen to? Do anything just so it's viral? Demagogy has become basis for any kind of content on the internet and in media. Conflict drives ratings, buzz and reach.

So great, as expected!

Love these two and their chemistry! It's a certain brand of humor I'll give it that, but I think a lot of the negative reviews on here are a tad extreme. Almost as if they have ulterior motives. This show, just like their amazing podcast is so funny and makes me laugh out loud constantly.
