- Artist Christoph Niemann's work is the subject of the first episode. He was born in Southwestern Germany where he studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart before moving to New York in 1997. It is here in New York city that Niemann experienced success as an illustrator, graphic designer, and author of several books. This documentary goes from his covers of the New Yorker magazine to Instagram. He describes his process when developing an idea turning it into finished art. In order to 'loosen up' he and his family moved to back to Europe. In Berlin he was able to escape the deadline pressure of New York city and concentrate on ideas. Niemann feels having his world turned upside down by art "is the greatest thrill I know". Not planning leads to magic moments. The film tries to capture his creative process by moving his drawing table to different locations, through animation and computer graphics pads. He keeps trying different vehicles because then the muse will come.
