During a last minute holiday in the European country of Calpurnia, a young woman named Maggie Marks finds herself meeting a local who turns out to be Prince Adrian who is on his way to becoming the new King of Calpurnia. Prince Adrian of tiny (fictitious) kingdom Calpurnia is about to be crowned king, succeeding to his late father, ending the regency of bossy, old-fashioned queen-mother Beatrice. On one of his regular incognito motorbike rides in the capital, he literally bumps into American tourist Maggie Marks, recently graduated and reluctantly looking forward to a career in corporate law. Her accompanying friend pushes her to end a life without dating and enjoy charming Adrian's hospitality blossoming towards a relationship, before and after they find out he's the heir to the throne. The entire aristocracy is against a commoner intruding, as they oppose Adrian's desire to make his crowning the first in public, and Beatrice resorts to dirty tricks, but Cupid finds a way, aided by Adrian's devoted footman Felix.—KGF Vissers
