When they are geocaching, they announce they are lost when the kids lose service on their cell phones. Just seconds later, once they have figured out how to find their way back, they get signal again to find the geocache, yet they still have to use the alternate method to get back (not to mention the foolishness of being lost and deciding to keep going).
Dana runs into Steve's tent because she fears a bear in hers. He goes out to chase the bear away only to discover it was a raccoon. Although he maintains the ruse to impress his daughter, Dana later indicates she knew it was a raccoon although Steve never reveals the truth.
When Steve's ex-wife arrives, they change tents so the boys are in one tent and the girl's in another. The next day, Dana's son comes into Dana's tent and lays down on a bed as if it's still his. It isn't until a later scene that the ex announces her plans to leave.
