I didn't finish this Anime... This Anime finished me.

Story: The Story of the Anime is a classic "Your-in-a-buildng-with-monsters-survival-story": The protagonists are trying to get out of the place, while solving the mystery behind it. Sounds pretty simple, huh? Well it is, and it is a big accomplishment to fail at it this hard. My biggest Problem with the Story is, that the pacing is to slow. Like Snails. In Slowmotion. The fact, that's it's very generic, and that the action is shot so lazy and so boring, makes it even worse. Another big Problem is, that the scenario is never solved. There is a truckload of plot holes (to many to list them here)and an open ending. At this point, i have to say, open endings are not particularly bad, they just have to make sense (A perfect example: "The Lorax", the book from Dr. Seuss). But here you just have a blunt cliffhanger. It seems like the makers wanted to do a second season that hard, that they forgot to make a coherent first part. The highlight was the first episode, which wasn't that bad at all. Characters: a hard one. The characters are in the best case stereotypical. They tried to do a Group based Story. just bad, that the group splits up at the beginning and just re-units at the end. They don't have a balanced screen time neither and the forced love story between two of the main characters is just outta nowhere and unauthentic. The backstories are completely irrelevant and dull. Art style: The art style is OK. not bad, not groundbreaking, just OK. It has fitting colors and not too much bad CGI. Music: average All in all the Anime is just the slowest shot in it's own leg of a Anime studio that i ever watched. It's boring and uncreative. It pays no respect to the audience has one of the worst endings imaginable.

Great anime!

Opposed to the previous reviewer I find this anime fast paced and an adventure. I just binge-watched it in one go. It really shows that sometimes it is impossible to agree on a view of something. Granted, there is annoyingly much of crying going on at any emotional moment, and this is no spoiler, as they cry even if they just remember some nice scene from the past.. Aside from that, the rest is pure action from the first episode on. And in every episode something important is uncovered. Sure, there are lots of shows with a similar setting, but for me this one is one of the best precisely because there is a lot of action. I'm off to find the webcomic.
