Not meant for common people to see

Warning: Spoilers
The film is a documentary and re-enactment that takes place in the wilds of Latrobe co. Pennsylvania, the 33rd largest state in the union, so it has that going for it. Apparently the reason Rolling Rock beer tastes the way it does, it because Bigfoot lives by it's streams. The production is supposedly based upon the stories, journals and film footage of Frank Peterson, a story teller, who hates telling his story.

Most of the film is locals telling their story. The only thing worth seeing is the last few minutes (PLOT SPOILER). Apparently Frank and Randy shot and killed Bigfoot. They buried him because it wasn't for "common people to see" although when I look up "common people" in the dictionary it has a picture of Frank Peterson. A construction crew came through and apparently dug him up and took the body. There is an 8mm film at the end of Randy shooting Bigfoot. We see a dead carcass, something maybe the Polonia Brothers left behind. My only question is that there were 2 guys on the hunting trip. One had to operate the camera, you need to hold the button down. Yet we see them both cutting up Bigfoot with a chainsaw....who is filming that? Mrs. Bigfoot? Very boring. Might want to FF up until the last few minutes.

No swearing sex or nudity...none of the bad stuff. Unfortunately if had none of the good stuff either.

Blurs the line between fact and fiction

Warning: Spoilers
MOUNTAIN DEVIL is a rural slice of horror that blurs the boundaries between fact and fiction. All of the characters in the film are playing themselves and talking about the events of one night in which they were supposedly attacked by a Bigfoot creature.

This film follows the usual format of a cheap documentary in which a team head to the location involved, interviewing each other and various folk along the way. The atmosphere is okay, and those with an interest in forteana or the subject matter in general may find elements of interest here. However, it all boils down to a lot of camera shaking in the woods and not much else, as the almost entire lack of incident really hurts it.

Documentary Or Fiction

Warning: Spoilers
Documentary? The way it is made seems to suggest so. Did this Peterson guy really shoot himself a Bigfoot? I've seen better but I will give this one a 4/10.
