Sex & Nudity

  • A teenage boy demonstrates his powers to his friend by making a pornographic video appear on all the televisions in a store. The only portion of the video we see is a loop of a woman's bare breasts being groped (her nipples aren't visible).
  • Episode 4 A man holds down another man and tells him to "suck it." We see the man briefly struggle, then forced down to his waist, where he is told to "keep sucking till I come."
  • A woman is seen nude (without explicit detail) after being drugged. A man threatens to rape her, but is stopped.
  • A teenage girl is mockingly referred to as "Pube-head" once.
  • During the opening song there is one shot of a naked woman. We see her from the side and her knees are up to her chest, so we can only kind of see the outline of her body.

Violence & Gore

  • Strong violence and sadism, including a teenage boy who breaks into people's houses and shoots them at random using his special ability to use his hand like a gun. At one point, we see him kill an entire family, including a small child who is implied to suffocate under his father's corpse.
  • Some violence is presented in a "justice" fashion, such as a group of yazuka who are severely injured/bloodied, but aren't killed/are left alive to suffer.
  • A man walks in front of a train and is dismembered by the wheels.
  • An extended sequence shows numerous people being shot in the head after making fun of a character's suicide. The most graphic part is when a person is shot in the face in slow motion.
  • Two characters are shot to death. This isn't shown but their bodies are briefly seen.
  • A police station full of officers is shot dead by a teenager. Most of the deaths aren't seen but it's still very intense.
  • A man has a firearm placed under his chin. You hear a gunshot and it cuts to blood and brain matter dripping from the ceiling where he was shot.

Profanity

  • Frequent use of mild to moderate coarse language ('damn', 'goddamn', 'hell', 'ass', 'asshole', 'bastard', 'bitch', 'sh*t') in the official subtitles.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • References are made to a woman having been drugged.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The strong sadism present in Hiro's character and the number of people who he murders without a second thought may disturb some viewers.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • At the end of the second episode, a family is brutally murdered inside their home by a teenager. The mother is shot in the stomach, causing blood to splatter over a wall, before she is shot around 4 times in the back. The father hugs his son in a bathtub and is shot in the temple (blood splashed onto the white walls) and the son is suffocated by the father's corpse.
  • A group of reporters are brutally shot to death. Blood is shown splattering from their heads, backs and chests.
  • A man is shot in the leg and collapses. He is then very suddenly shot in the cheek, and the invisible projectile goes all the way through his head, tearing open the back of his skull and his other cheek until it splatters onto the wall behind him. The face shot is replayed numerous times on videos.
  • One hundred people are shot in various parts of the head in a ten minute-long sequence.
