Makes me sad to see Beyoncés talent wasted like that

Warning: Spoilers
"Formation" is a song released by Beyoncé not that long ago, namely in 2016 and these slightly under 5 minutes we got here are the music video for this song. And I really cannot say anything positive about this one at all. Director is Melina Matsoukas, who worked with really many faous (especially female) singers on their music videos, but her effort here certainly doesn't show her experience or her recent success away from music videos in actual filmmaking. Beyoncé proved so many times that she is a marvellous singer with amazing range really, but this song we got here is almost impossible to appreciate. She fits in with Nicki Minaj etc here instead in making a creation that has nothing to offer vocally at all despite B's talent. The music video is hardly any better. Story-telling component is non-existent and the sets and dancing are entirely forgettable. Looks like the Queen (Bee) is dead creatively, but hey how can you blame her if works like this still get awarded all these honors. Truly disappointing and I am genuinely glad this is not the era I am growing up musically. Don't listen to this one. Don't watch it either. Highly not recommended.
