Poland tries Sci-Fi action, only partially successful Warning: Spoilers
"Legendy Polskie Jaga" is a 13-minute live action short film from 2016, so still relatively new and fresh. Apparently, this is one of several "Legendy Polskie" short films from pretty recently and they got directed by Tomasz Baginski, an Oscar nominee who is mostly known for his animated short films. But here he enters the genre of live action once again and I never stopped thinking that it would perhaps look better as an animated movie with Baginski in charge. The female title character was never as impressive to me as intended. And honestly the male protagonist speaking about how he wants to be King of Chaos never felt really that authentic as he was honestly more of a joke as a villain and never really scary. Visually the film was fine, but story-wise I expected better, even if it is not a failure by any means. This one received many many clicks on Youtube in the last months. I myself cannot really share the praise and I hope the other "Legendy Polskie" clips are better as the potential is certainly there occasionally. Still a thumbs-down from me overall. Didn't like the closing credits song either.

an experiment

A sort of conclusion of serie. Unfortunatelly, a bad one. Because the mix of Slavic folklore and the Sci. Fi, in this case, is reduced at status of copy of video game. Same fight scenes, same precise recipe and rich use of technology without proposing a real significant story.
