Character piece(s)
kosmasp31 October 2019
This is quite the tour de force. It is a role any actor might wish for. A lot to do and a lot of emotions to portray and convey. Now if one is not vain, they might envy the lead actress in this. Her role is not likeable and she is flawed as can be. But that is what makes that character so endearing (to play and to watch) after all, no matter your take on her.

If you are not too judgy (which can happen while watching), it is quite slow and there is a lot of mixed feelings and a main character that will bring you to certain edges when it comes to understanding actions. There is also nudity and adult situations and drama galore. But while these are just words the main character has to live through them - for better or worse

Haotic

This is one of those sad movies, completely haotic. Don't expect much, but keep in mind that it will make you value life more at the end. Low grade goes because it is unorganized at times.

one lady's drama

Warning: Spoilers
I just LOVE that title. Written and directed by Che Sandoval. Martina (Antonella Costa) is a singer in Argentina , and has lost her mojo. The title says it all; energetically. Sexually. When Fran and César (Dindi Jane and Pedro Campos) find her missing cat, a new adventure is opened up. Fran thinks that she and Martina are long, lost sisters. The verbal dubbing translation isn't so good, but we can see the english captions, which are better. César and Martina hit it off, and she seems to have found her mojo. With many guys! But now she's hooked on César, and follows him back to Chile. Where she sees Fran again. This one takes some left and right turns...we're never sure just what Martina will do next. Which is her problem as well. She's always been a sex addict, but now she thinks she wants something more. With César. It's a crazy, south american adventure. And not knowing where we're going next is part of the fun. Ends on kind of a downer, but i guess Martina has taken back control and will start over again. It's an interesting last 15 minutes. On netflix.

Total garbage

Warning: Spoilers
The story of a woman who becomes fridgid (Dry) after some great lover who left her? Complete waste of time. No plot, random scenes that don't segue, bad acting, gratuitous sex. I wish I had my hour and a half back. I should have just had a dry martini.

Not worth watching

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is difficult to understand because it cannot decide what it wants to be. Does it want to be serious or does it want to be satirical or does it want to be a soft porn movie with lots of dialogue? The story is just so far-fetched that it is frankly ridiculous. For example, she flies to Santiago and sits on a bench in a park where she meets this random man (whom she doesn't know from a bar of soap) and then decides to have sex with him. He then pretends to work for the Post Office in order to find out where her real lover lives. As luck would have it, he only lives two blocks away in a city with 5,6 million people! Then there is this weird question whether she and the other girl could be sisters but that is neither here nor there. In the last 15 minutes she strolls around the city like a female cat on heat and the scene with the truck driver is frankly silly, to say the least. Maybe that was the purpose of the whole movie? To show the similarities between the cat and its owner who are both on heat? But why make a movie about it?

Feels like reality
ericobnn27 April 2020
I'm not sure why exactly, but this film feels almost like reality. Maybe it's the great acting, sincere script, the mundane things they do, or the most likely culprit: how thoroughly flawed and rather insane all the characters are, which give them a powerful dose of believability not found in most other movies. Of course, there are still "surreal" dialogues and situations in the script, but overall, this film feels exquisitely real to me.

However, it suffers from being aimless at times, especially in the last half hour or so, but nothing too bad. I give it a 7.5/10, and it's worth watching!
