By default Husband is the only oppressor in Marital laws

Every Male & his family members must watch it to know the darker truth when marriage goes wrong in India before they get married. This movie shows a true picture about how a law made to protect the bride is biased & has been grossly misused as a weapon to take revenge & extortion. It covers the interviews of the male victims (husbands) &/or his family members in case the husband is dead (suicide) & their plight in fighting a biased law favoring only the bride blindly. It also covers the opinions of the law practitioners & their hopelessness towards the cruel law. As a debutant Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj has done an excellent job without dramatizing the sensitive topic. The facts/statistics are enough to shake you, which the mainstream media has been hiding since long.

A bold step to showcase the real picture

Thanks a million to Deepika for bringing up such an eye opener. The documentary talks about men and his parents and siblings getting trapped in the very famous gender biased laws of Indian judiciary. These laws were supposedly made to protect women but unfortunately these are misused by some brainless and shameless females as an extortion tool. There is no fake or made up characters all are real people (law abiding citizens) who suffered the pain, harassment and insult by the protector of laws. This is a must watch more for the females and her families who should understand how painful it will be if their own brother / father has to go through with same gender biased laws.

A must watch documentary on one of the most misused provisions in India.

A big thanks to Deepika Bharadwaj and her entire technical team for making a wonderful documentary on the most misused provisions of India 498A. The documentary explains very well how the law has been misused by the women in India hence men and their family members suffered throughout their life. It is an eye opener to the society where men are assumed to be cruel to the women but the other side of the truth is that women are more cruel to men when it comes to misusing women centric laws in India. I recommend everyone and specially the judiciary, police department, cabinet politicians, NGOs and law makers to watch this documentary.

A must watch for all Indian men and every woman related to men...

An unconventional topic explained so conveniently. A heart touching stories, a very thorough research work and very unbiased prospective. It brings into light every aspect about the (in)famous law. It raises the question of why men are prone to commit suicide. It really takes guys to tell the other side of story specially when no one wants to even talk about it.
