Ashley Greene and Seth Green are ready to dish out laughs with a romantic comedy feature offering a modern take on relationships.

The pair are set to star in director Peter Facinelli’s forthcoming film Grace Period. Hailing from Wango Films, the movie will be introduced to buyers at Cannes this month ahead of a planned production start in August.

Grace Period centers on Willa (Greene), who impulsively decides to freeze her eggs with the help of Dr. Rubin, played by Emmy-nominated actor Matt Walsh. Things get complicated when she soon meets her ideal guy, Greg (Green), and ends up navigating this journey with the help of both men.

The indie film reunites Facinelli with Greene, his former co-star in the Twilight franchise, and Green, who starred with him in the 1998 teen rom-com Can’t Hardly Wait. Facinelli helms the feature from a script by his real-life partner, Lily Anne Harrison.

On Fire is a survival drama film co-directed by and starring Peter Facinelli, highlighting the desperate escape of a family from a devastating wildfire. The film sheds light on the real-life struggles faced by families worldwide due to the increasing frequency and severity of wildfires, emphasizing the threat of climate change. Exclusive: Francesca Eastwood (Old) and Milo Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge) have been tapped to star in Clawfoot — a cat-and-mouse thriller from Yale Entertainment, which is currently in production in Los Angeles.

In the film penned by April Wolfe (Black Christmas), an upper-class suburban housewife (Eastwood) is psychologically terrorized by a manipulative contractor (Gibson), leading to a twisted battle of wits with deliciously unexpected results.

The film’s director Michael Day (As They Made Us) is producing alongside Yale’s Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman, with Kade Thomas, Scott Levenson, Jason Kringstein, Lee Broda and Colby Cote serving as exec producers. Yale’s recently launched sales banner Great Escape, led by Nick Donnermeyer, will handle worldwide sales.

Most recently appearing in M. Night Shyamalan’s Old for Universal Pictures, Eastwood has also been seen in such films as A Violent Separation, The Vault, M.F.A., Outlaws and Angels and Final Girl, among others.

Exclusive: We hear that Film Bridge International will be handling the international and domestic rights to the Milo Gibson-Laurence Fishburne sports drama Brother’s Keeper. Deadline first told you about the project coming together in August 2018 from Minneapolis-based upstart production company Winsterstate Entertainment.

Brother’s Keeper follows the true story of West Texas’ ’09 Abilene High School football team — underdogs who rally against the odds to form a family and win their state championship. Exclusive: Peter Facinelli, Michelle Visage (RuPaul’s Drag Race) and Kelly Mantle (Lucifer) have been tapped to star in God Save The Queens, a drag queen dramedy from writer/director Jordan Danger. The pic marks Danger’s feature-length directorial debut. She’s perhaps best known for starring in the Syfy series, Eureka and also starred in the Facinelli-directed dark comedy Breaking & Exiting, which she wrote.

God Save The Queens, which is set to begin production next month in Los Angeles., follows three different Drag Queens, in La, New York and Las Vegas, all navigating their way through their careers and personal struggles.

After a very successful festival run, Jenn Wexler's punk slasher The Ranger finds a home at Shudder. It has been officially announced that Shudder acquired the film, with plans for a North American and UK release in 2019. AMC’s dedicated genre streaming service Shudder has acquired Jenn Wexler’s punk rock slasher “The Ranger” which had its world premiere at South by Southwest festival in the Midnighters section.

Shudder picked up North American, U.K., Australia/New Zealand and Germany/Austria rights. The deal was negotiated by Shudder’s Emily Gotto and 79th& Broadway Entertainment’s Andrew van den Houten, on behalf of Hood River Entertainment and Glass Eye Pix.

Described as reminiscent of “Return of the Living Dead” and “Class of 1984,” “The Ranger” follows a group of young punks who are forced to flee the city and run into a park ranger who shares a mysterious past with one of their own.

The film stars Chloë Levine (“The Transfiguration”), Jeremy Holm (“House of Cards”), Granit Lahu (“The Sinner”), Jeremy Pope, Bubba Weiler (“Puzzle”) and Amanda Grace Benitez (“School of Rock”).

Exclusive: Milo Gibson — the son of Mel Gibson — and Laurence Fishburne have signed on to star in the sports drama Brother’s Keeper for Winter State Entertainment, an upstart production company out of Minnesota started by husbannd/wife indie film producing team of Hamid and Camille Torabpour.

Brother’s Keeper is described as an inspirational sports drama that follows the true story of West Texas’ 2009 Abilene High School football team — underdogs who rallied against odds to win their state championship and is said to be in the vein of Friday Night Lights. Production is underway, and the film is expected to wrap in November with its football scenes staged at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene, TX.

One may not be quite sure who is actually getting robbed in the cheeky romantic comedy Breaking & Exiting--the random owners of the unprotected homes in the movie or the audience watching this limping love story about a roguish house thief (Milo Gibson--son of Mel Gibson) that burglarizes a particular domicile while unexpectedly finding love in all the wrong places. The sorely predictable bad boy-meets-troubled tart premise is meant to be impishly clever but never quite registers beyond its woefully generic gimmick. The only thing remotely catchy about this hapless romancer is the film's playful title...and even then the cutesy play-on-words feels like a creative stretch. Quite frankly, this rudimentary slice of lovey-dovey home invasion hokum is definitely cringy for those that prefer their darkly light-hearted...

Exclusive: Milo Gibson has signed with Alchemy Entertainment for management and is also joining Millennium Media’s Rod Lurie-directed film The Outpost based on CNN anchor and chief Washington correspondent Jake Tapper’s novel.

Adapted by Oscar-nominated The Fighter writing duo Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson, The Outpost tells the true story of the 53 U.S. soldiers who battled a force of some 400 enemy insurgents in northeastern Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The pitch for this is rather odd - it's about a thief who breaks in to a woman's home and discovers her about to kill herself. So, as the logline says, he "decides to save her from herself, sending both of them into a darkly comedic journey of self-discovery and love." But of course. Exclusive: Freestyle Digital Media has acquired domestic rights to Breaking & Exiting, the directorial debut of Peter Facinelli. Milo Gibson stars alongside Jordan Hinson and Adam Huber in the dark comedy romance that centers on the world of suicide prevention. An August 17 theatrical release in 10 cities including Los Angeles and New York is planned.

Gibson, the son of Mel Gibson, plays Harry, a charming house thief who gets more than he bargains for during an attempted burglary when he stumbles upon Daisy (Hinson) and decides to save her from herself, sending both of them into a darkly comedic journey of self-discovery and love.

Hinson wrote the screenplay and produced with Kali Pictures’ Martine Melloul and Cecile Cubilo. Andrew van den Houten and Melloul are executive producers.
