A bit of a defining music take on Milfs

I must admit that I don't think I have ever come across the band Fountains of Wayne before and I guess after hearing their song "Stacy's Mom" now, it is my loss. But first things first. The director here is the prolific Christina Applegate errr. Chris Applebaum who worked on many other (good) music videos already, including some favorites of mine like Mandy Moore. Here we have a work from him that was released back in 2003, so it has its 15th anniversary this year. The most known cast member here is not the protagonist, but the woman who plays the title character, namely Rachel Hunter, a mildly successful actress, who is most known for being married to singer Rod Stewart and she still was when this music video was made. She plays the one adored by her daughter's boyfriend and there are some funny scenes I guess overall when the daughter thinks the boy is paying her the attention she craves, but really he is all about her mother. Funny little video, catchy song, yeah no depth here really lyrics-wise, but this is not a problem. It's actually better this way than them trying to make a significant song and music video while the outcome is just try-hard and pretentious. So I thought it was easy to enjoy this one, song and video, for what it is and while I probably would not put it anywhere near the top of my 2003 list, I still don't need to hesitate to give it a positive recommendation and thumbs-up. 3.5 minutes of pointless fun and nice guitar rifts.
