Good Movie

Sarvann is well made movie with a good story line. It is about the journey of Canadian criminal who after murdering two people in Canada escapes to India. Movie succeeds in holding your interest till end. His experience in India is the main theme of the story. The story line is engaging. I found it different and interesting. The movie is well made and likable. Music is good and songs are used well in the movie. The movie is of thriller category but cannot be called edge of the seat thriller. Amrinder Gill is in the lead role and is well supported by one and all. Punjabi movies are well made movies these days. I found the movie satisfying. It was well worth a visit.

Worth Watch

Sarvann is the first Punjabi movie that is being produced by Priyanka Chopra. From the point of acting, roles being played by Ranjit Bawa and Amrinder Gill are quite good. Ranjit Bawa has done a noteworthy work. Storyline of the movie does not have much practicality. At the start , it is being shown that Amrinder Gill is from Punjab. But he has friends in Bidar (Hyderabad or Rajasthan ??) and he landed in Mumbai. Nature of Punjabi's for dowry to foreigners is also exaggerated. All songs in the movie are good and relevant. It cannot be called a thriller but emotional that is being woven with comedy. And in this sphere movie is worth watch.

A must watch

Normally i stick to Hollywood movies but after recently coming across Amrinder's songs i started appreciating and connecting to Punjabi music in a whole new & meaningful way. Luckily enough, last week i saw Sarvann's poster in a theater and decided to see my first Punjabi movie in the US and guess what It was totally worth it. Moreover, it's really promising to see Punjabi cinema broadening its scope and seriousness instead of being more comically oriented.

I found Simi's style of acting and Ranjit's performance to be charming. The movie was great but seem to have ended a bit abruptly(?). One thing however didn't make any sense to me whatsoever is why Amrinder's character couldn't directly land in Punjab or Delhi when coming from Canada. After he lands in India, for a length of time the dialogues were Not In Punjabi which on a personal note was slightly offensive because it *appears* to have been done somewhat intentionally.

All in all, the story, acting, songs everything was qualitatively good. Altogether an enjoyable and emotionally gratifying experience which in the end is the most important reason for watching a movie. Highly recommended, go watch it!
