Fine movie on a legendary boxer

"10 Seconds to Win" is a biopic on heavyweight and legendary boxer Eder Jofre (Daniel de Oliveira) and the practice he acquired with his father (Osmar Prado), a talented boxing trainer. From Jofre's humble beginnings trying to prove to his family that he could be a good fighter just as his dad was to his rise to fame and world championships. It's all in the story but there's the impression something's lacking.

Esther it could that the story flows too fast or too jumpy, or it's a strange device of the makers in speeding everything. It's not much of ambitious film but it pays a fine tribute to the fighter. Daniel is always a fine performer specially when it comes to portray real life figures (Santos Dumont, Cazuza, the Comando Vermelho leader, among others) but here he gets outshadowed by Osmar Prado, as Kid Jofre, who is a towering presence as his dominant father/trainer. Main reason why he got several accolades for his role. The actress who plays Eder's girlfriend is also very good.

Thumbs up to the movie. It's interesting, nice to follow such a magnificent character but maybe the rhythm isn't so great as say "Raging Bull", for example. But you will support those big characters, love the fights (a better staging of some of them would help too). Minor obstacles don't defeat the Project. Blows far from the ropes. 8/10
