I didn't shoot him.
nogodnomasters6 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
When one sheriff gets shot, an ex-sheriff and close friend of a different county goes to investigate. The story was simple and lacked complexity. It is a crime film that a family could watch. It is folksy and cliche and has a niche audience. No strip joints. No drugs.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

family friendly
ksf-26 July 2022
Tom wopat (dukes of hazzard !) is sheriff rockwell. Or was. On his last day as sheriff, the local troublemakers start shooting up the town. When a good friend gets shot, rockwell tries to figger out who-dunnit. The music alternates between feel good and suspense, even when they talk about serious things. So much serious music. So many dramatic scenes, even while rockwell is sitting at a red light. More dramatic music. Some good acting, and some not so good acting. Co-stars pat richardson (from tool time). Goes like a hallmark channel movie... some violence, but no swearing. Every scene has a warm, fuzzy feeling, even when nothing is happening. It's okay. The story is quite solid, if kind of silly. Directed by shea sizemore. Has won a bunch of film fest awards.

A hallmark movie without Christmas
Berlington15 October 2023
First things first this is garbage, almost ever scene you can here the cry of action and after a pause things slowly happen. The actors are the most unlikely to appear in any movie, the sound is like a tv movie, every element of plot is highlighted for the the most unobservant. The plot is like a dukes of hazard episode that's been dumbed down. HOWEVER it is consistently bad across every element which strangely makes it watchable, it is proudly and unapologetically poor. Every individual element is a 3 or 4 but for some strange reason this makes it watchable and I quite enjoyed it. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts in this case.

A rarely good and hard to find good Southern charm
MovieIQTest7 May 2018
This film is very good, actually everything with the Georgia State background story will be just fine. All the main characters in this film were well cast, male and female, old or young, performed so well and very likable. The screenplay is good, interesting dialog, good sound track. The possible heart attack anytime to the voted out sheriff, forced into retirement, then turned half-hearted pig farmer with only three pigs and three chickens, well, was such a wonderful created character, but also hanging up there over my head during the viewing, a hidden tension to keep the good movie going in the right direction.

Not easy to find good film under the weather of too much and too many Marvel's comic super heroes crappy, cliched schlock.

Very Watchable not Terrible
barrymuch25 March 2024
This movie is very watchable and not at all terrible. But it does have a TV movie vibe and plot. The acting fine, the sound and picture are fine and the dialogue is fine. Nothing innovative here but you care about the characters. The action is not special but it's not boring. So I don't understand the low score but I also dont understand the high scores. I think I saw there are a couple of sequels so I'll check them out if they are no charge. By the way the soundtrack is also decent. Say a Prayer by Geoff Lenox is a nice tune for example. There's really not that much more to say about it but there are worse time wasters than this flick.

I found the style and pacing weird
cinemagick1 December 2021
I found the style and pacing weird. Almost like a ironic parody of acting, even in scenes that were clearly meant to be sincere. The acting is strange, kind of amateur feeling.

Decent
fountainkitty3 May 2018
Don't know if I would call this a b or c movie - however for what it is, it's very nice. I really enjoyed this movie. It is probably safe for the whole family- it's a feel-gooder with some cool quotes and badass good guys/girls. If the cable and Wi-Fi were out I wouldn't mind having this on DVD. I could watch it over and over.

Not Much Of A Movie - Poor Everything
fredgfinklemeyer8 August 2018
08/08/2018 It's a movie, but that's about all. Lame plot, an even more lame storyline, poor actors. I'm glad that it's over. I do NOT recommend this movie. Bon Appetit

A Surprise
rnsjunkmail12 May 2018
I stumbled across this movie. I was surprised by this movie. I didn't recognize the actors, but I really enjoyed this movie and thought many of them did a good job.

Compared to too many recent movies it is good. I woulld definitely watch it again. It has some changes in direction that I didn't expect so that was good about it as well.

You'll have to watch it to find out about the changes.

I liked the primary actor the best and was impressed by how well he did.

Enjoy.

Got your script?
jayg_5826 May 2022
I admit it's not fair giving a 4 star review after watching 10 minutes, but that's all I could stomach. I wanted to give it 3. Tom Wopat looks like an over-the-hill alcoholic trying to cash in with whomever remembers Dukes of Hazzard, a masterpiece of bad acting and trite action. I was still hanging on until the female lead came on... reading from a bad script and implausible plotline. Oh well, if you're a Duke's fan, it might be fun.

County Line
BandSAboutMovies4 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Alden Rockwell (Tom Wopat) used to be a sheriff but now he's taking life easy. One day, he takes his friend played by Clint Thorne (Jeff Fahey), a sheriff in a neighboring county, out to lunch only to watch him get shot and killed. Sheriff Preston (Grant Goodeve) promises to investigate but as the case grows cold, Alden wonders if there's some kind of conspiracy in his little town.

Directed by Shea Sizemore, who wrote it along with Jon Nappa and Jason White, this is a solid action film that seems like it would be something your grandfather would put on at 8 PM on a Sunday night.

Wopat plays a role outside what you may expect. His daughter is going off to war, his wife has just died and without them and his job, as well as the loss of his friend, he feels hopeless. Figuring out the conspiracy keeps him feeling normal and also leads him down to yes, an actual plot that he has to solve.

Fahey is always great and I kind of wish they'd not killed him off so soon. If you're into this, there's also a sequel, County Line: All In and a third movie coming out this year, County Line: No Fear, which adds Casper Van Dien, so you know I'll watch that. Was Eric Roberts busy?

Held My Interest, Would Watch Again
Kay197726 August 2018
County Line is well acted- all the major characters are believable in their roles, and the ending will come as a surprise. Violence is not very graphic and is used to promote the storyline and character development- not gratuitous. That seems rare nowadays. As other reviewers say, this can be watched by the whole family- no swearing. It also has something to say about dedication, loyalty and doing the right thing. A little cliche sneaks in, but if you are open to a good storyline and great acting, you'll like this film. Tom Wopat looks "lived in" and not tough guy glamorous, which earns his character credibility.

County drama! Lol
ginasharp26 August 2022
I rated this a 10 for a tv style movie. It's not an epic movie by any means but very good for a Friday evening watch! It has some great acting, a "Duke" boy, mystery, drama, love and friendship! Very nice date night watch and wings and popcorn at home!

An Honestly Good Movie
redlantern-196701 August 2022
What a breath of fresh air. Great to see Tom Wopat and a "Scooter" again. Superb acting, actors and story line combine to bring about a great movie for everyone to enjoy. No need to cover your ears or eyes to avoid foul language or explicit adult scenes. Highly entertaining and well worth watching.

Good story line
peteoliver-908455 June 2022
I find the low reviews incomprehensible. Enjoyable storyline, casually directed and well acted. Good performances by all the actors too - what's not to like? No pretenses at being an Oscar contender but a good yarn, well presented and an enjoyable 90 minutes.

Really really liked this one.
steve-aichele9 June 2020
I don't usually do these reviews. But, this one seemed worth it. Tom Wopat and Jeff Fahey have great chemistry as the sheriffs. The story is good, they sure seemed to pack a lot into 90 mins.I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel with these guys.

Family Friendly
ResidentEvil2Fan13 March 2021
This movie was a great watch. And it was good to see some people take the time and effort to make a family friendly movie with a positive message.

Tom Wopat was outstanding in this movie, but if you was expecting to still look somewhat like Luke Duke, then you will be disappointed. But he puts in a great performance. And his counterpart, Jeff Fahey, puts in an equally great performance and the duo had great chemistry on camera.

INSP Delivers a Good Ol' Movie!
JenExxifer25 July 2021
Hats off to INSP for making a modern movie with a classic westernesque story: good guys versus bad guys.

While the storyline is nothing new, the actors are enjoyable, from the recognizable names (Tom Wopat, Patricia Richardson, Grant Goodeve) to the supporting cast full of quality character actors.

Similar to a 'Jesse Stone' TV movie, but with southern charm!

The writing is witty and smart with plenty of tough talk; the actors do a nice job of getting into their characters without sounding forced or fake.

I do wish John Schneider had been cast in Jeff Fahey's role; not that Jeff Fahey didn't do a good job; I just think it'd be neat to see the good ol' Duke boys together again but not as the Duke boys.

I agree with another reviewer who mentioned it would be good as a series; and if not a series, it'd be nice to see more TV movies with the characters.

Thanks to INSP for a good ol' movie that's worth watching for anyone who likes the actors and likes good 90-minute movies!
