This is the only known fictional show to end because it became true.
In April 2019, actor Volodymyr Zelenskyy (Vasiliy) was elected president of Ukraine, just as his character was on this show.
During the 2010s it appears that many international broadcasters had decided not to show the series originally, most likely as it was subtitled, and it was then considered "just another" political comedy. However, once the 2022 conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and it became widely known that the real President Zelensky, had been elected in part due to this fictional TV series, it then re-gained traction as a must see series. Social media by then had also shared extracts from his earlier comedy shows, his Dancing with the Stars, Ukrainian Paddington voice acting, as well as his embracing of social media as the actual President of Ukraine, the series gained a (perhaps morbid) curiosity value.
Pavilion number 1 of Expocenter of Ukraine in Kyiv doubled as the president's palace.
The series starts as a clearly fun political comedy, but by the end of series 3, it had evolved into a more serious political drama, which was understandable considering what the underlying story was about - corruption, nepotism, etc.
