I loved that this show was truly unscripted. I also love the idea of a social experiment (although already done to a degree) of bringing together four different girls to form, what I think, is a pretty cool band.
The dynamics between the girls is sometimes fraught but often encouraging of each other.
I won't spoil it but there is one stand-out girl who makes the show.
I highly recommend this show. Nasty Cherry does represent 'girl power' and it made me feel empowered to chase my dreams.
I liked these girls and I'm going to keep my eye on their success!

I didn't really have high hopes for this show - knowing it would be insufferably self-indulgent. I like that they at least call it 'unscripted' as opposed to reality because, let's be honest: COPS is the only true reality show. But right from the beginning, the manager looking directly into the camera and saying 'you never know... what can happen'. Well... the people that cook the situations on this show... yeah, they know what will happen. You've seen all of this before. If you've liked the past shows of bands that are concocted and manufactured - singing one cliche after another - then you'll probably like this show.

As an aspiring musician, while I do realise this is a very different experience than what many musicians endure, it was very interesting to watch this band unfold. Seeing the song writing process as well as the end stages of playing the music live for a crowd was really interesting.
I'd be thrilled to see more of this show or at least the concept put towards other new bands not just nasty cherry.

Was this a reality TV show? Fiction? Non-fiction? It was hard to tell it was so scrambled with no plot or direction. The idea I guess was to throw 4 women into a house, then create a band. So was that sort of like the Monkees having fun on screen? But wait, Michael Nesmith actually had musical talent, none of these women have any talent. Well I take that back, Georgia Somary has some talent., but in the Art Department! I nominate this one for a Golden Raspberry Award.

Found out about this band through the sake of being a Charli XCX fan. I liked one of their songs but wasn't really quite invested in them as people. However, after a friend suggested the documentary to me, I was instantly drawn in. 4 women from very different backgrounds trying to be in a successful band. Out of shear curiosity, I watched all 6 episodes and instantly became a fan. I empathised with all of the members, leaving me conflicted when they had their little spat. It really showed the hardships groups go through and what it means to really share your ideas with others that may not see your vision. It was a nice insight into the industry and how it can impact a person. I was moved by all the girls' desires and really gravitated towards their beautiful souls. They are very lovely people and I wish we got to see more of this from their social media. Online, they seem very arrogant, mysterious to the point of delusion. They want to keep up this unattainable facade that they're greatest band in the world (they are very talented and their music is amazing) but for a starting out band, I think clicking with an audience and just being genuine is a better marketing ploy which the documentary did a great job of highlighting. I hope they can take this on board and be more themselves online. They are funny, witty, creative and down to earth girls that don't need a manufactured personality. Love you Nasty Cherry!
