Mediocre Anna Span effort
My experience with the cinema of Brit Porn pioneer Anna Span suffers from the Law of Diminishing Returns. At first struck by her well-hyped different point-of-view (a woman's) to Adult filmmaking in the video era, further viewings of her DVD releases has shown results not all that different from the male-dominated mainstream. Her claims of including a significant % of shots from the femme protagonist's angle, and other anti-misogyny elements are not borne out in the dozens of vignettes in circulation, which often resemble stag films or loops that could have been made by anyone, including male chauvinist pig directors.
For "Hand of the Law", designated as #10 in her on-line Diary series, the theme is police and criminals, but the five unrelated vignettes are mainly trite excuses for XXX humping.
Alexis Silver stars as a prostitute in "Escort Me to the Station", an IR exercise verging on gang-bang as Ian Tate (in his early Dirty Dog moniker era) and a couple of other officers do the big-bust queen in her abode. It's not up to Silver's better roles by a long shot and the improvised banter is a big nothing.
Regulars in the Span stable Steve Hooper and Avalon get it on in "Cleaned Out", with the reversal that Avalon is the cop, investigating a burglary that has cleaned out Hooper's apartment.
Cocaine smuggling is the theme of "Hidden Goods", but pegging is the sexual content as a femme cop takes strap-on dildo to the posterior of the male perp, with CFNM another element novel only to the uninitiated in the way of outre porn. No-name cast sinks this segment.
A reliable performer from Eastern Europe, Jana, shines in "Assess the Damage", another segment about a burglary investigation. Another obscuro talent "Elizabeth M." is featured in "On Duty Police", wearing an ill- fitting uniform that attests not merely to the low-low budget filmmaking but a disinterest in detailing. This story of a male/female police team goes nowhere.
