The Hole Truth About Awesome Cabe
kiathros24 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I haven't even gotten over Cabe almost dying in that desert and they make him almost drown here, too. What I love though is Sly and the other guy hesitating so Cabe says "Great, send the old guy down." That was so underrated, especially since he started taking off his coat as he says it. Cabe, despite almost dying and of course the countless ridiculous and UNSAFE situations he's in or about to be in, NEVER hesitates to do it. (Except maybe this time for the comedic effect of the three of them looking at each other lmao). This is one of those moments that remind me how much I love the old man. :)

I love the writing in this episode. Paige's Mom's quote about Walter being Pinocchio and becoming a real boy someday was really nice. Now, it's a bit bothersome for me why everyone is okay with this and Cabe even giving fake IDs but FAMiLY, amiright?

Awesome thing with QUINTIS being worried about Walter. Even with their own social interaction and emotional expression problems, they still help Walter deal with the chief. Supposedly Paige's job and I understand what she thinks she's trying to do but she was brought in the team for that very reason. Also, not a fan with Happy still addressing to her as a waitress, given that they had spent a lot of time already and Paige should mean more to them than being the waitress. Maybe this is Happy subconsciously implying that the waitress can do better job than them at handling the Walt problem or it's just a nickname. I don't know. Maybe this was also to remind us because Paige brings up when she meets the bad guy later. As if we forgot what she used to do before Scorpion.

Anyway. So much about that.

Overall, good episode. No romantic Quintis scene like I want to see but this was more of their friendship. I love that they work together on this.

Still don't know what to feel about Sly and the whole election thing.

Sand dogs or mudrats?

Very clever episode. I love that Walter is slightly sinking without Paige's help. I think the way they solve Veronica's situation is brilliant.

The conversation between Paige and the bad guy is very moving and Katherine McPhee is amazing.

Uhhh why not just pay back what you owe???
TwistedCyberChik6 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Paige's mom HAS THE MONEY she owes the "bad men". Why on earth would Scorpion encourage her to fake her death and run off with the money rather than, idk, GIVE IT BACK? Now Paige is saddled with a debt that she too won't simply pay back? EXCUSE ME??????? In what world does this make sense x_x Pay. Back. What. You. Owe. Does that dude really seem like the kind of guy you want gunning for you? ...no logic.

And now it's saying my review has to be 600 characters long... so... The following is from wikipedia:

Scorpion is hired by the US Army Corps of Engineers to help a sandhog unit locate a leak in a municipal water line. The micro leaks they find cause the soft soil to create a massive sinkhole that is ready to swallow up a silo filled with chemicals, along with a worker trapped on top of it. If this happens, the drinking water supply of one of Southern California's most prominent aquifers will be tainted. Meanwhile, Toby and Happy have to help Walter, who is slipping down their "EQ" scale, as he has been too sharp and insensitive to people's emotions ever since Paige decided to leave him to his own devices. Paige also has to help Veronica get back the con money she buried at the abandoned factory where they found the nuclear device, which is now being worked on by a demolition crew. She devises a cunning plan for her mother to cheat the men who want her to pay for her sins; however, it forces Veronica to part ways with Paige for good. She leaves a large cache of her dirty money to Paige in Ralph's name.

Is American virtues concealing criminals? It's a plot that I don't understand. Why did Paige also receive the duty money?
