sincere and authentic
fatihkan127 February 2019
This movie felt me like it's real in every way. Story is fairly realistic. I was sick of youth movies that everyone in it is throwing parties and they are sure about the life and seem they know everything what's coming. The girl character made me feel so sad. I just wanted to hug her and he hugged her as well in the end. It's a tv movie but it has more in it than a regular tv stuff should have.

another good drama, but.
ariqakbar11 January 2019
Is a really strong story, really powerful and warm. i like that they came up with not just one single problem and still solve it little by little all the way to the end. but in the other hand there's nothing that can make this movie can be different than the other good drama movie. but to be sure its already good guys.

i would say that some of the actors was in good performance and the other are kinda have some scene that their dont seem pretty good.

One important life lesson
PaxtonMalloy30 December 2020
This movie is not only great because the both leads Travis Tope and Katherine Hughes are great as well as Michelle Forbes as the mother.

It is great because it is more than "just" another coming of age story. When it starts you think you know where this is going. The shy underdog making a move on the popular pretty girl and then the plot will surprise you.

It is heartfelt movie with timeless themes like loss, family, parenthood and love. But what will stick with you is one important message. One that is so current in an age where everything is based on performance, everything is rated, everything is about eating better, walking more steps and optimizing everything you do at any given time so basically no room for failure, mistakes and struggle. And that message as Travis Tope's character will say is: "It is ok that we don't have all the answers".

A movie that is beautifully real
huyzer15 December 2018
What a beautiful movie. There are lessons in there that I will take to heart, hopefully for the rest of my life. Thank you. I am hopeful that I will grow and take action.

The actors, their emotions, their facial expressions, everything in movie, felt real. They truly have their craft down. Saying that feels like it's a mechanical thing, like a negative. It is not. They truly understand human nature, and it showed. Thank you.

I am so glad I watched this. GREAT job everyone. <3

Too real
LukeCustomer228 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
You go to the movies to have a little bit of a break from the real world. But in this endlessly depressing piece, I felt if I had actually hung out with these people. And, this is not a good thing.

Sam is the main character. When we meet him he is a few years out from the suicide of his father. It is his final days of high school leading into the summer before college. Due to a car accident he has no license and must get a job for the summer. It is through that he gets more friendly with his high school crush, Ellie. Ellie comes on super strong as soon as he starts working with her but unfortunately she is another one of those modern women stereotypes. She is hanging out with a bad bf that treats her bad and is pregnant and having an abortion. She could have been presented as someone to care about, but as usual for this kind character, when presented with a good guy (Sam) she starts treating him bad for no apparent reason.

As another side plot Sam finds some old photos of an old boyfriend of his mom and tries to set them up together. This does end horribly as mom is upset at the interference.

Everyone does a fine job and the script isn't bad it just isn't something other than a faithful telling of real life, endlessly depressing real life.

Life Is Full Of Questions
EggOrChicken19 May 2019
Life is full of deep questions. This movie asks the deepest to these young-adults who are barely equipped to answer any of them, and a few adults who want to know the answers just as badly. This movie askes, What if we can't find an answer? And answers it with a beautiful song. I hope it's good enough!

Authentic
luisanotarangelo26 April 2019
As someone from the same area as the director / writer and had the chance to see him answer questions at a screening. While it's not autobiographical, each character was very authentic to the people I grew up with. While of course dramaticized, this movie kept true to itself and is funny.

This movie has such a soft, beautiful touch, so real and authentic. Nothing glib or "as usual." Great scripting, acting and composition. Just, WATCH IT!

beautiful
mayakirl26 February 2021
On the surface, it looks like a cheesy dramatic move-and you know what? sometimes there are parts to it that are. but the majority of the movie is raw and real about emotions and the actors portray their characters so well so there's nothing wrong with their acting. this is a wonderful coming of age movie that i won't forget.

Watch out for Travis Trope, Nick Nevada and Katherine Hughes...
Bill-i-am23 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
...they are going on to great things.

I guess I like these tragic coming-of-age movies. I like a redemption story. I like stories that highlight the resilience of humans, particularly young humans.

I first noticed Michelle Forbes in Dandelion nearly twenty years ago. I like her style and think she is highly underrated. It was also great to see Sam Trammell in his small role, although I think that character could've been better developed, and would've strengthened the story.

The stories that unfold in the shadow of a suicide are a special kind of sad, and Nick Nevada captured that in this film. I will be there for whatever he decides to do next.

A Nice Movie
roneyb-4471026 March 2024
Wonderful movie to watch at any time. The poetic touch to the movie, make a good experience. While watching this movie, i feel like having a love life that similar to the film. Each character in this movie has its important and nothing made it out of the line. Also each one played their rolls wonderfully. The boy who played sam is a good actor and weight to the that character in this movie was huge. I don't know the writer, but he has given a wonderful work and the presentation was also good. I really enjoyed every bits of this movie. I didn't feel any of bad vibe in this movie. I really recommend this movie to every one and will ask to review it.

A very well handled drama/romantic story with absolute realism
rakeshkarmaker30 June 2023
A very well handled drama/romantic story with absolute realism. It felt real in every aspect. In present modern ways of movies it is always highlighted that life is only sunny and sunshine, DJ party One night and sorts. The story showcased real world where real people has real problem and how people would be naturally responding to them. The movie was extremely simple and so was the protagonist and the story itself too. But it was enough to touch my heart.

Good acting, good story, good visuals. To sum it all up, an absolutely beautiful movie. A good watch for those who are growing up toward becoming an adult. The movie could teach you a lesson or two.
