BIzarro plot but a pretty good ending!
Chartreuse14 October 2020
Victoria Pratt is the only reason we watched this. Besides being stunningly beautiful, she's a very good actress playing Mom to a daughter, Amber, who is dating Alex, an older man. Trouble is her good friend, Kelly, is also dating him and when Amber finds out, it doesn't go well and the 2-timer ends up dead and Amber gets arrested as a suspect. Yikes? Whodunit? You'll just have to watch it. ]The supporting Canadian cast does a fine job with Christina Cox being the other Mom who's been in many Lifetime movies! I would watch again ONLY if nothing else better was on.

There are worse films out there, but
r96sk15 July 2020
About as predictable as a film could possibly be.

'My Daughter is Innocent' certainly doesn't throw you off the scent, I called exactly what was going to happen as early as the first few scenes... and that's not to big myself up at all, it's just incredibly obvious.

I kinda like the plot but I simply couldn't connect to it due to the aforementioned, with other things like the cinematography (how many drone shots does one need?) and acting being just as poor. The four main cast members are likeable but their performances are substandard, though they aren't helped by the writing which makes the characters act bizarrely in most scenes.

There are worse films out there, but that doesn't stop the fact that this is a rather dismal effort - and that's coming from someone who respects and is able to enjoy made-for-TV productions.

Not another lifetime movie
texxas-12 February 2018
This was made in the year 2008 but for some reason in the UK it's being credited as being made in 2017 and under the title "my daughter is innocent". This is a so-so lifetime movie about 2 underage girls (who happen to be best friends) who get two timed by this older man. One of the girls later get arrested for murder when the guy mysteriously ends up in a coma with a fractured skull. Predictable and dull.

Too easy to figure out early in the movie
deedrala11 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Too predictable - I had the secret figured out about 25 minutes in - that Kelly's mom had an affair with Alex and killed him for choosing her daughter over her. It was so obvious that I thought I had to be mistaken and it would end up being someone else that killed him, but it turned out I was right.

I was pleased to see that neither of the two main characters - the moms, and their daughters Kelly and Amber - lived in huge fancy mansions like the leading ladies do in most other LMN movies. Their houses were still bigger and fancier than run of the mill middle class homes, but they were more believable than the ritzy mansions that Lifetime usually has their heroines residing in.

Lastly, I really don't like the fact that Lifetime shamelessly changed the year this movie first came out from 2017 to 2020 and called it the "premiere" to promote it as a brand new movie. Very dishonest and tacky, and this is only one of many they've done that with to delude people into thinking they're new movies to get them to watch them.

Only So So...........
carolynocean11 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I think the problem with this movie is that, it was just too obvious that it was neither of the two grls that pushed Alex down the steps . So ,apart from them, there were no other suspects , bar the two moms !!

And , again , obvious that it was not Victoria Pratt ( she is always the good character ) , so that leaves Christina Cox ( usually plays the bad character ) .

Also, I am a bit baffled that any of the three of them found Alex any bit attractive !, I mean , the guy was chewing gum while kissing at the same time , yuk !!! And, he was trying so hard to be cool , it was cringy !

Try to keep count of the amount of times Victoria Pratt said " my daughter " I wanted to scream !

So , all in all it wasn't really that exciting ,not a lot to figure out, or keep me interested .

I don't know what movie t-1 is confusing this with, but I can confirm that this was shot in 2017.

Love is Precious and Vicious
lavatch26 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Early in "Deadly Double Cross" (a.k.a., "Precious Things"), a mother comforts her brokenhearted daughter by telling her that love is both precious and vicious. The film weighs those two factors in a grim episode of a police blotter.

Kelly Davies and Amber Mitchell both fell for the same man, a smooth-talking charmer named Alex Cosgrove. Driving a Corvette and laying on thick the romantic facade, Alex julggles relationships with multiple women.

Eventually, one of his jilted paramours retaliates, and Alex dies after being knocked down the stairs at the local reservoir. When young Amber Mitchell is arrested for murder, her mom Lisa moves into action as a private eye. She even mounts a storyboard on her wall at home as she sifts through the evidence.

The filmmakers kept the action flowing, especially in two gargantuan cat fights. One is between the two besties, Amber and Kelly. And the other is between their two mothers, Lisa and Heather. Like mother, like daughter.

The only evidence that Lisa has is that Alex was a "player." She has to find the "other woman" who was responsible for Alex's tumble down the stairs. There was quite a good climactic scene where the dramatic revelation occurred. The final takeaway was that the vicious side of love trumped everything that was precious in the lives and loves of four women.

Good drama and a great cast
hoops-5343622 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
We really enjoyed this one and, contrary to some reviewers, the unveiling of the real killer surprised us. This movie provided the best of Lifetime movies- Drama, murder, a few laughs, and two hours of entertainment. The twist was great- a guy sleeping with a girl AND her mother (not both at once) and trying to add the girl's best friend to his list of bed partners. It would be difficult to get a better cast- Victoria Pratt was wonderful, as was Christina Cox. And, although you didn't get to see as much of them as you would like, Sarah Fisher and Hannah Vandenbygaart were great as the two best friends. One of only two (so far) Lifetime movies I would watch again.
