If you can deal with scenes involving the dissection of human body and are a fan of medical dramas that involve inspiring content and amazing actors then this series is the right place for you to come to.

First Part was much better
eli-stuttgart14 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The first season was longer, it wasn't boring for a second, and I couldn't tear myself away. The tension was held by the interesting characters and their special personality as well as their life situations. Each episode created a lot of emotions, probably because more feelings were put into it.

I've seen everything from amusement to grief.

The hot kissing scene at the beginning surprised me the most, especially since it was really already in the first episode and therefore original.

The only thing I found a pity was that the focus was no other relationship than that of Dr. Kang and Yoon. I mean maybe Eunsoo with Dr. Do wäre the second pair.

In the second part I missed the focus of the main couple. The relationship between Dr. Sei and Dr. Cha was a bit bland because they were rarely shown. For this, the couple Nurse In-beuk and Dr. Ah-Rehm has been able to develop.

The "most wanted" Boo Yong Joon was then replaced in season two. His impossible way, which simply went on everyone's head, suddenly disappeared and he became an angel who only creates peace in the world. In contrast to its soft core, I missed its sassy side. The other characters from the first season should have been more integrated, at least give more information about them. Well, you don't really get to know much and, unfortunately, you don't see them.

Over time it got boring, because the villain was already known to everyone, it had nothing mysterious, but was predictable where all this would lead to.

And another thing: can it be that the second season was less realistic?

Regret is worse then failure
alaningle71 February 2021
Well the title suggests a light fluffy romantic piece but this series is in fact a brilliantly acted edge of your seat hospital drama. A wrongly disgraced doctor works at a small local hospital where his brilliance attracts young like minded talent. The characters in this drama all have excellent back stories and the incidents that happen daily with death and trauma make for riveting and often emotional viewing.

Dr romantic
bilalkamaran8 September 2019
It took me so much time to find the right words to express how much this drama is a gem. So basically, I would say that Romantic Doctor Kim is a master piece. I have rarely been immersed in a drama this way. No wonder it became one of my few all-time favorites. To me, this is definitely the best medical drama ever. Amazing scenario, great plot, high accuracy with the medical jargon and techniques. Excellent acting from the entire cast including actors cameo. I mean some of them got me really crying with their painful stories... And what would be a good drama without life lessons? The trappings of our world are wonderfully depicted through the lives of the characters. The casting director deserves an award. He surely made no mistakes in the selection of the actors. The cast is flawless and the OST is perfect. 'Mention spéciale' to the talented Han Suk Kyu that I discovered in this drama. Happy he received the Grand Prize for his role in this drama (Dr Kim is a hero). He truly deserved it. Do not let yourself be fooled by the title of this drama and just watch it. You will understand a fewepisodes later the true meaning of it.

Healing drama
zforouzan21 August 2021
It's the best medical drama I've ever seen. Along with treating the drama's patients, the characters heal your painful heart too.

As a medical student, meeting a professor like Dr. Kim and living my life in a hospital like Doldam became one of my pleasant dreams💫💙

BEST MEDICAL DRAMA
nananeribudoy4 July 2023
I have watched a lot of medical drama's including the good doctor and Grey's anatomy but nothing will ever bet my admiration for Dr. Romantic ever since I watched it. The drama itself awake the passion and driven to became a doctor and it's makes me to admire passionate doctors more. Teacher Kim's words of wisdom pierce through your heart . It's like healing your broken hopes and dreams. Every line is a comfort to every struggling person. The Doldam Hospital and Cast gives comfort to my almost giving up passion. Please continue to make us love our life, continue to remind us what we live for and why we live for. Thank you Doldam Family for lighting up our romantic soul, for giving us hope.

Best medical drama!
balletteacher3 July 2023
I have seen all three DR. ROMANTIC seasons and am wanting a season 4!! It couldn't come soon enough as this series has the most incredible actors and directors, writers, photography of real or implied surgeries, and music to enhance it all. BRAVO!!!! Every episode was thrilling, gutsy, and heart-wrenching at times. Each character was so well-written, the actors were perfectly cast. The romances were sweet, but not the focus. The little daughter Byeol stole that episode 6 for me. What a cute and professional little actress!! The wonderful surprises at the final episodes were also a plus...perhaps leading into a final season? Han Seik Kyu (Master Kim) is my favorite veteran actor - so natural and heartfelt. EVERYONE from Season 2 got even better this season. Thank you to all!!!

Even better than the first season!
hanalisss13 May 2023
I actually enjoyed this season more than the previous one, although I do miss some of the characters and loved to see the guess appearance of my beloved Yang Se Jong.

The first one was a bit more frustrating to me because they kept dragging the inability of some of the doctors to perform, and it got a bit too repetitive and tedious.

But in general the saga is entertaining and I love to keep watching cases coming and being solved.

I really enjoyed the love story in this second season as well, I thought it was very well developed and never too centric to the series.

I am looking forward to the 3rd season now, but Im sure it won't disappoint!

One of the best medical drama!
shareen_shany4 May 2022
Season 1 The title is deceiving as not much romance happening other than lies, deceit & corrupted people who abuses their power either because their position or money or both.

The best part of this drama is teacher kim! He is so awesome as a doctor!

There is a talented doctor, dong-ju, & the female doctor Seo-jong who is talented as a doctor. Good chemistry!

The bad guy here president Do clearly the president of the hospital who wants puppet & doctors who willing to bow down to him. He uses everyone even his own son. He destroys everything if he doesn't gets his way. He is pure evil! Plus his lap dog!

Other supporting casts - the head nurse Ms.oh, doctor nam/own a restaurant, nurse park, the president do son doctor do & manager jang - the dream team!

Almost each episode is captivating & an edge to your seat especially the surgeries!

Season 2 The bad guy is still there. Worst than ever, a new president & his lap dogs.

Doc. Kim is still the best, a new talented doctor Seo/Ahn HS - he is awesome here as in the new drama Business Proposal! , doctor Cha/Lee SK - she also is in the medical drama Doctors, she is irritating there as in this drama. There is no real chemistry between her & doctor Seo!

The new doctor Bae is cool, doctor Jeong + others from season 1 are awesome! Mr Gu is such a bear!

Every surgeries are intense & in season 2 there are more fights, tears eyes!

Wonderful ending for both season!

Other than the bag guys, this is one of the best medical drama other than 'Doctors'

Ridiculous!
taishor23 July 2022
Mostly Ridiculous and from time to time entertaining story about a doctor, a hospital middle of nowhere, another hospital evil CEO who does everything to take down the main doctor. Title dr romantic applies to the way the doctor is viewed but serie contains very little romantic if any.

Dont think that u will see so many romantic scene by watching dr. Romantic. It is classical doctor drama no more no less. I dont like this type dramas thats why I was disappointed, but if u into medical issues, this can be a good drama for you. Briefly i think it is overrated.

Season 1 is best. Season 2 is childish
tpradeepkkumar13 March 2021
I found season 1 of Dr romantic more interesting than season 2 . Right amount of suspens and excitement . But season 2 was too childish for me as it only focused on the main couple instead of Kim Sabu.

Good Enough
PennyReviews29 February 2020
" Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim " was better than I have expected.

Even though it was twenty episodes long, the pace was great adn it didn't get boring or tiring to watch. They handled the main story nicely and the small cases in every episode were interesting.

The romance, moreover, was subtle and sweet, progressing on a nice pace. However, they never dealed with the leading lady's mental problems. They only talked about it in the first episodes and then they just "cured" her? So, that was not well handled. On the other hand, the performances were pretty great.

So, overall, eight out of ten. " Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim season 2 ", as a stand alone drama and without comparing it to the first season, it was okay.

The medical cases of the first part were interesting and there were some others that were emotional and touching, but that's about it. The rest of them were few and unfinished. The only character that was interesting, in addition, was Doctor Kim, of course, and probably the second couple, which, however, didn't have any solid time to have character development, or get ot know them. The main characters however, felt watered down. There were some scenes, but very very few, that showed a bit about their past, but they never really explained things about them, like why the girl was getting nausea in the operating room, or some more details about Woo Jin's family. The two didn't have any chemistry and the few romantic scenes that they shared did not help them at all. The characters, overall, where boring and too typical. The political drama was just okay. There were however some nice notes to this drama. There was some character development for doctor Kim and we got to see a more human side of him. The nostalgia with the familiar settings and well known characters helped with the entartainment of the drama too.

Now, compared to the first season, this one was not as good. The political drama was boring as we already knew the "bad" guy and it was more like been there done that. The first season had more interesting characters whom we had time to get to know, which helped a lot with the romance. The characters had chemistry too, which this season was lacking. The medical cases were better too. Finally, there was more time to get familiar with the hospital and the crew.

So, overall, six out of ten.

So gooood.. This drama doesn't disappoint! NOT A SINGLE BORING EPISODE amongst 21 of them!
Giselle171022 November 2020
As a medical professional, I avoided this drama as much as I could but had to watch it bcz of so many recommendations and honestly I wasn't disappointed. A teacher like him is truly precious. Everyone needs a teacher kim in their life to point in their faults and teach a lesson. But it was so hilarious how they diagnosed rarest diseases with just mere symptoms! Lol. I felt bad for Do's son! But u can't just go around saying lies about the surgeries u haven't done at least once. It's not easy! But overall well portrayed. Will miss the lead couple in season 2!

Great cast, poor character development
jaldred-661201 May 2022
The most frustrating thing about this series is that it had potentially very interesting characters but none of them showed any real development. A great cast and if you don't mind a lot of operations and heart attacks an entertaining series in parts but slow direction sometimes. The first series was better but also a lot of unexplained things. It was nice to see Ahn Hyo-Seop cast as something other than a successful businessman but Business proposal is a lot more entertaining and just as fluffy. And if you can stick with it, Yoo Yeon-Seok is much better in Mr Sunshine (totally different story of course).

Review for season 1 and 2
neha-8506014 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Season 1 It was a good drama. Well enacted by the actors with an interesting plotline.

However, dang ju was an extremely irritating character for me. He is childish, obnoxious, and so freakingly.irritatingly narcissistic. He lashes out at Kim and accuses him without even considering his own actions. He is a doctor for heaven's sake, yet his actions border on tantrums and extremely tantrums. He is always angry, frustrated, and self proclaimed righteous.

I didn't like him - even the villains were okay for me. But dang's character was urrrghhhhh. And while there was chemistry between Yun and Kang, I really failed to see what Yun saw in him. *Shrug emoji* *rolling eyes emoji*

Season 2 How in the world did eun Ja become a doctor ???? It baffles me and will always baffle me. I cannot stand that woman... She nags and nags and nags and yaps. Eeww. It's like watching a high schooler dressed in a doctor's coat trying to act adult but failing miserably.

Such a beautiful drama both seasons
arnosan24 February 2022
This is a simple but efficient drama. There is no redundancy between each season. You get used and love each character naturally. Dr Kim's generosity is comforting and I hope there will be a season 3.

DEFENITION of PERFECT
arezookn14 June 2022
I've watched enough k-drama to know, that this one was a masterpiece!

  • Drama and the storyline was ideally screened
  • Videography and color grading, are perfect!

  • Characters and acting, are perfect!

  • Character interactions, their story, and how they screened it, again perfect!

  • a slight comedy throughout the story to spice up the mood and not get boring, is perfect!

  • The message they gave us with all the stories, was beautiful

I felt fantastic after watching this drama, this story touches your soul, It was so good I had to come here and share my thoughts for the first time.

Hope they create more drama like this.

I strongly recommend it to all K-drama fans!
