The finale was not what I expected but was still mind-blowing
stanb-219 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I have seen every episode of "This is Us". Why, because it is by far the best drama on TV today. I am sure everyone expected that we would learn how Jack died in this episode. Well we didn't but saying that it was still a great episode due to the tight directing of Ken Olin and the expert acting turned in by Mandy {Rebecca}and Milo {Jack} The argument scene was as intense and dynamic as anything you will see on the screen.I still have chills thinking about it. I believe I read in Wikipedia that they rehearsed 2 days preparing for that scene and believe me it came off as good as they could hope for. As a devoted fan of this show I enjoyed every week and is very glad that NBC has asked for at least 2 more seasons. What a great show.

Moonshadow (#1.18)

A nice season finale but somehow I am sad we didn't see much of the present. Yet the past stories were also good. We see how Jack and Rebecca met and also their big fight. The fight was very well done. And the story of how they met was actually interesting. I was sure they were set up with each other which wasn't the case. And the whole story of Jack and Miguel getting robbed after the poker game and him wanting to get the money back by stealing it was well written. Kind of beautiful how seeing her stopped him from making a bad decision.

Strong episode, but not all that we wanted in a finale.

Warning: Spoilers
This Is Us audiences have been wanting to find out how Jack Pearson dies since very early on in the season when we found out he had passed away and Rebecca was now married to Miguel. We've all been itching for that episode. We've all been wanting to know what happened. Here in the past few episodes, it's been teased that we may find out in the season finale. Even in the most recent episode, Kate hints to us by telling Toby that she feels responsible for why he died, so it was natural for us to expect we may find out in the finale. Not so fast! I'm not going to butcher this episode's rating because there were still a couple powerful scenes between Jack and Rebecca, but I don't think it's quite what we were all hoping for.

I love this episode how they plot. The beginning of love of story of Jack and Rebecca. It show nice way back story an finakky how they met. On the other way there relationship has some flip, conflict. They want take break or air. Now I don't end or what.

But great one love this show so much.

Overall, an excellent series

I've really enjoyed this show, and am quite intrigued by the cast - for the most part. However, there is one thing that just seems very incongruous. How do parents like Jack and Rebecca wind up having such a bunch of screwed-up offspring like these three? The parents are both conscientious, involved, sympathetic, responsible, communicative, etc. Yet the three kids are a bunch of psychotic misfits with virtually no redeeming social qualities. I enjoy every character on the show except for the "triplets". Especially so for Kevin and Randall, two self-absorbed, self-indulgent, spoiled brats. Well, at least all of the other characters make up for them.

Intensity with a Capital I

Warning: Spoilers
Where to start. First of all, let's face it. Jack has issues. It isn't just his jealousy. I can understand that because he can't accept Rebecca's need for something special in her life. He is really dense at times. Drunkenness is no excuse. He should have told her how much he hated her going off on tour, but instead he acts like the consummate jerk. That's even before he started on a mega-drunk. Yes, that guy did come on to Rebecca but he would have killed the guy and spent years in prison. We have flashbacks of what went on after Vietnam. I remember the guys having trouble with employment. It was ugly in the marketplace then and there were so many of them. So he was forced to live with his parents. The poker game was ridiculous. Those guys had every right to expect him to play at least a few more hands. To the writers--five card draw-a full house and four of a kind in the same hand. Come on. And then a plan to rob the bar and get the money back after he is beaten to a pulp. Finally, that argument is about as intense as one can get. They showed their acting chops. Oh, I think Ron Howard calling was way over the top. It detracted from the reality of the other events.
