Toba Tek Singh is a must watch for people who watch cult and critically acclaimed films.

I cried during and after watching the movie. The movie is very crisp and hard hitting. One of the best films made on partition. There will be strong scenes in between the film that will strike the hardest. Very beautifully crafted, outstanding acting by Pankaj Kapoor & all the cast and a tremendous direction.

The people from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh will never forgive the people who were involved in the partition for their own greed for power,

Manto was an amazing writer, And this Story is another level. Thanks to Director Ketan Mehta for portraying it so beautifully. A Must-Watch Movie for those who wants to feel the real pain of Partition.

One of the best movies that I have seen my life, but It is a heartbreaking fact that our directors can't really utilise Pankaj Kapoor the way I have seen him in this movie.

Let Manto not be remembered through this talentless and pathetic piece of

Pankaj Kapur is a great actor and the reason I watched this. He plays his role wonderfully, as wonderfully as he played all the other roles I've seen him in. I've never seen anything by Ketan Mehta and this film is the reason I will never knowingly watch anything of his again.

Where do I start? Did he even ever read Manto? Or did he just watch the Doordarshan adaptation and decided to make a really bad copy? Who is this nauseatingly correct and good-natured clown? Manto?? There are so many things wrong with this picture that it's not even a picture anymore. Pathetic, completely untrue, talentless piece of. Seriously. If you want to know about Manto, read Wikipedia, it will give you a better picture. If you want to watch Toba Tek Singh, watch the Doordarshan adaptation (which is not very good, but way better than this one). Or just read. Any of his stories. Such a talented writer deserves to be remember. Not distorted beyond recognition.

Pankaj Kapoor is a reason enough to live. His eyes speak. Pain is written large on his face and and you feel it yourself.

Pain of Partition

This film is just one of the best. The last scene just made me cried uncontrollably. I have already read this story and I knew how it will end but still I watched the whole movie. The pain of partition is real and really ugly. The hate of some people have destroyed every thing. Even today the majority of people n Pakistan and India may never hate each other but still those people of hate are too powerful and today they got nuclear weapons. May God have mercy on us and make the people of good prevail.

Insider's Insight: 'Toba Tek Singh' Review from a Native Resident
samu-0751013 March 2024
I'm currently lived in Toba Tek Singh.

Toba Tek Singh" offers a profound exploration of partition through the lens of Bishan Singh's journey. As a resident of Toba Tek Singh, the film's portrayal of Sikh migration struck a deeply personal chord, resonating with the shared history and struggles of our community. Director Ketan skillfully captures the human cost of displacement, making it a must-watch for anyone with ties to this historic land.

Through its poignant storytelling and evocative cinematography, "Toba Trk Singh" immerses viewers in the emotional landscape of our region, shedding light on the complexities of identity.
