A runaway bride's tale!
Reno-Rangan24 February 2018
It was kind of a road movie, but it all had ended sooner than the rest of the story come into effect. The story of a runaway bride. She hits the road with her troubled little sister. They decide to go to the place where they grew up together. Along the way, they encounter a few things. Like doing some mischievous things, shopping, et cetera. When they reach their destination, they try to make the most of it like nothing had happened. But it always keeps haunting them, which leads to quarrels between them. So what happens later, how their unplanned trip ends were revealed in the remaining parts.

It was so simple. But there's nothing new. The cast, especially the two sisters makes it looks decent. Personally, I liked the little one. I thought it was predictable, and in the most cases it was, but there were some unexpected new developments happened. Particularly the new romance. After all it was not a bad film. But if you think so, then it's just you are not the audience they aimed for. Maybe if I was a woman, I could have liked it better. I've enjoyed watching it, but in the end, I felt it was an average film. I hope the film finds its audience, one of them could be you. So choose it wisely.

A Muddled Film To Say the Least..
stellbread22 July 2018
I watched this film because I found the story of a young woman, jilting her beau and going on a journey of self-discovery--with her flamboyant sister no less--would present interesting conflict. If this was a vanity project for Shelley Long, she needs a long look in the mirror, because instead of a worthwhile story, what the viewer gets is a formulaic, meandering 99 minutes that ends predictably, but could have been so much better with a few tweaks. The problem is underscored by the movies ending, when Millie--the runaway bride--has her epiphany, which comes with such a suddenness that it seems as if the writer centered the entire premise around that one scene. Two, the grandmotherly advice given (Shelly Long) at the end would have better served both Millie and Ellen (her sister) had it been imparted before the sisters hit the road; in this way, it would have given a believable reason for the sisters' on-the-road conflict. However, the film does offer two solid performances by the sister, played by Emman Bell (whom viewers might remember as Amy Harrison on The Walking Dead) and Hope Lauren. But Long comes up short as the sage grandmother, and the men are cookie-cutter softies and horn dogs whose presence is largely irrelevant. In short, the film comes off as out of sequence and a waste of time unless you literally have nothing better to do than waste an hour and a half.

Runaway bride and her sister
avakay-9828724 March 2020
Runaway bride and her sister take off on a road trip. Bride acts like it's no big deal that she just broke her boyfriend's heart and wasted thousands of dollars of her parents' money and embarrassed them. She just changed her mind. The sister is just as self centered. Guess this was made for 15 yr old girls. Sure hope they don't think this is the way to act. Nothing funny about this movie.

A Real Snoozer!!!
LongJohn462 April 2020
Comedy? Not that you'd notice. Cameos? Nobody you'd recognize. Who is rating this as 10/10? How much were they paid for such ratings?

Avoid this, It's a waste of your time.

A great movie for every boring, bland, white feminist.
dvanimcfadden28 April 2019
Basically, it's supposed to be a story about two sisters hitting the road for a trip, the bond of sisterhood and girl power but the entire story fell flat. It's been done before, and much better. I'm surprised at how positive many of the ratings are but then again I remember the demographic they're going for and it all makes sense.

boring
gothicus-332165 November 2017
not the worst movie I have ever watched but the story really sucks I mean was this supposed to be comedy? I won't even bother spoiling this since there is nothing there. actresses are average looking at best they are BORING. everything they do together is boring. watch it if you want to prove to yourself that girls are boring when they're out doing things without their boyfriend. a total waste of time.

Can't believe the reviews praising this giant yawn, the best things were the local exhibits like the ball of twine and the farmlands. shelley long came across as a crabby old grandma. and could charley have any smaller pin point pupils !

Fun Movie!
gggshannon14 January 2018
I watched this movie on a friend's recommendation. This movie took me by surprise. It has some really great acting and many cameos by some well known stars. The lead actresses have such great chemistry they really do seem like sisters. This film is about relationships and those can be complicated. This movie really takes you on a road trip journey with beautiful scenery and quaint small town visits. I absolutely loved the music. This movie is well put together and well directed. Very compelling story. Highly recommend!

Emma Bell (sigh)
malabenne19 October 2021
Emma Bell is the best part of this movie especially given the poor dialogue. Quite charming.

This is clearly a chick flick because only women could be patient enough to deal with the slow pace and introspection.

As a guy, I liked Emma who incidentally has beautiful legs which you see a lot.

As movies go this one is neither good nor bad.

Relationships are complicated and so are people, but we need them both.
rvprasanth5 November 2017
Relationships are complicated and so are people, whether they are friends or siblings. But we need them both. When i watched this movie i more or less felt the same. As we have seen in various movies were the bride is desperate to get married and the groom has the cold feet. But here it is the other way around.

Though the genre is comedy, i didn't felt any. There is no real emotion or a punch line that you would expect. I think its tries to explore the relationship between sisters rather than the marriage or following ones need, but i don't know how far it has succeeded on that part.

Over all i give this movie a 5 for not being boring, watch it if you want to kill some time. All other aspects of the movie is fine i guess.

A Charming Delight
benminett0521 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Emma Bell and Hope Lauren's portrayal of sisters Millie and Emma's tumultuous relationship is purely delightful. The film, set mostly in the mid-west is warm, charming and relatable. Given a bigger budget and longer to tell the story I think this film could have been a cult hit. It left me smiling and wanting more from the two main characters. A perfect easy watch for a Sunday afternoon.

A Great Find-a new family favorite!
pookypuppy14 January 2018
I heard about this movie from a friend and decided to check it out. I am glad I did. My family watched it over break and there was something in this movie for everyone. The detail and care the director went to made this such an enjoyable film for everyone. Grandma Mildred, Shelley Long, was delightful in this movie. The setting in a farm town was very fun to watch. All the characters added so much to each scene; I want to go to the diner!! It is a story that captures you from the first scene and you want to see it to the end because each scene holds something new and interesting. I give it a thumbs up and will watch it again on Showtime.

Different Flowers is a good movie that captures you from the first song and takes you on a fabulous road trip.
johnnylester2 December 2017
I enjoyed this movie. It takes place in the heartland complete with farms, chickens, country roads and great characters. I was amazed how the story about two sisters finding friendship again with the help of Shelley Long, their grandmother, was so well done. The movie is a fun story that will capture you from the start and the cinematography and beautiful settings really add to each scene. I thought all the actors were allowed to give it their all in this movie from the main characters, Hope Lauren and Emma Bell, to the smaller roles including parts by Shelley Long, yes the famous Ms. Long from Cheers, and Sterling Knight from my Disney days. I really liked the story of this movie as it was not your classic film with female leads, the females in this movie were strong characters and you wanted to follow their story. I am a huge fan of Darlingside and was pleasantly surprised they were able to get that level of music throughout this film. Well done. Would watch again.

Different Flowers is about two sisters that take a road trip together and it is full of girl power, great music and beautiful cinematography
swifewife2 December 2017
This movie was an inspired movie that I thoroughly enjoyed. First time director, Dameron, allowed all the characters to reach their potential throughout the movie. The story of the two sisters coming together in a time of need is refreshing and full of girl power. There are so many delightful cameo roles in this movie that I watched it twice to catch all the fun scenes with the likes of; Shelley Long, Rob Mayes, Sterling Knight, Steve Agee, Romy Rosemont, and Sean Gunn. Each add their own wonderful presence to an already solid film. I loved the scenery and felt like I was taken back to my Midwest roots filled with the farm, countryside and good people you encounter there. The music in this movie is another positive. I was amazed how this independent film was able to garner such great music and use it to inspire this already beautiful story. I have sisters and I have already planned to give them a download code for a holiday gift. Well done and a movie worth repeat watching.

Different Flowers is a fun movie with charm and great characters!
kellyking-5426115 January 2018
Steve Agee, Shelly Long, Sean Gunn, Romy Rosemont and the list goes on for fun cameo performances from some heavy hitter stars. They add so much to this charming movie. I want to visit the diner, I want to go to the farm, I just enjoyed every single setting in this film. The directing really made the characters come to life and I loved their life. It captured me from the first scene and made me want to be there for the entirety of the movie. I enjoyed it and highly recommend it to everyone. It is great to have a movie you can watch with your family or your girl and just have a fun time watching a movie. It captures everyone with its charm and its great music.

A movie thats fun with great depth
kevinstross20 January 2018
I wasn't sure what to expect but the star studded cast made me intrigued. I loved this movie! It is a great story with female leads and they do a great job of carrying the story. Shelly Long adds to the story and still has what it takes. The directing was particularly good. You felt as if you were a part of the story and it really captured the what was happening and allowed the audience to be a part of it. I particularly enjoyed some of the small town scenes. It reminded me of Americana and it captured that vibe perfectly. This is a good film and you should see it. It is worth your time.

Loved it! Fun and full of great performances!
christiankemp-1034215 January 2018
I wasn't sure what to expect with this movie. It starts out in a beautiful city, Kansas City, home to BBQ and great music. The story is told from the viewpoint of two sisters and they sure do seem like sisters. The ups and downs keep the movie moving along. The great performances by the many cameo roles and big stars in this movie is another bonus. I loved the music, especially "Moon River", that is great rendition of that song. This is a great find and I would recommend.

Just.. Meh! Spoilers.
ts-00004 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Started with promise & went downhill. Bride & her sister abandon wedding,go for drive & stay at grandma's in a small town. Was no roadtrip of self-discovery,comedy,sisterly bond that left you satisfied. Had a few decent actors, even that couldn't save it. Maybe someone may find qualities, they can relate to but even still.. May not be,worth a watch.
