I had not heard about this movie prior to getting the chance to sit down and watch it. And being a lifelong fan of horror movies, of course I took the time to sit down to watch it.
I will say that the acting in the movie was really good, and that was definitely what carried the movie most of the way.
The story, well, let's just say that it was mundane and generic, and something that has been used countless times before in the horror genre. So you shouldn't expect anything groundbreaking or innovative here.
The special effects in the movie were good, although there weren't used in an abundance.
This was more of a psychological take on the mother's mental state than it was an actual horror movie.
I had hoped for more focus on the Lammashtu, but that wasn't the case.
All in all, an average foray into the horror genre, but this is hardly a movie that I will watch a second time.

A woman is having twins and the second one is still-born. When she gets home strange things begin happening and this turns into a quite a good horror film with subtle flavours of Paranormal Activity and The Grudge. So why then only a five star rating? It's the third act! Unfortunately, a few things happened which just made me shut off emotionally and shake my head in disbelief.
The first and second act I would give a six and the third act a three or four so I've given it an overall five stars.
I don't regret sitting through this and it has quite a lot to offer horror fans. The acting is good and it's pretty creepy all the way through so I would definitely recommend it - just remember it has five stars and not six or seven.

Let's put it like this, the beginning of Still/Born was promising but the second part of the movie was just a letdown. In the end it's just an average soft horror movie. They could clearly have done something much creepier and scarier with all those ingredients. The creepy parts were not bad but there were just not enough of them to make this a horror movie to remember. The cast was just about okay I guess. I'm not a big fan of some parts of the acting from Christie Burke. It didn't look real at some points. The story wasn't bad, at least for the beginning, but towards the end I was losing my interest. It's one of those horror movies where you look at the cover and you think it's going to be great but then you end up disappointed.

I don't see why this movie got such bad ratings. I found the plot to be somewhat different than most horror these days. I found myself on edge and genuinely frightened throughout most of the movie. One of the only probalems I had was the fact they didn't fully explain why the events that took place were happening. I would recommend this movie!

I went in with no expectations and came out thinking it was a pretty good movie. Have no idea where the title came from. It really has nothing to do with the movie. Pretty good acting and kept my attention throughout. Really makes you think what a woman goes through after child birth. I wouldn't say its great, but definately above average and worth the watch.

I went into this movie with low expectations, and it surprised me. Has a few scares that actually gave me goosebumps. The story keeps you guessing. A must watch for a horror fan

The film itself starts off really good. You're unsure which turn the film will take as you keep watching. Which is good. But then it sort of disappears in the middle. Nothing much happens and it drags on and on really pointlessly with little or no plot to carry it and don't get me started on the ending. There's no resolution or satisfaction with the ending at all. I have given it a five however as the acting is good, visually it's really good with some good moments in it and it's not hammy at all but has a real good atmosphere. It just felt like it was lacking something still to be born.

Mary (Christie Burke) delivers twins but one of them is stillborn. Her husband Jack (Jesse Moss) supports her and when he notes that she is not well, he takes Mary to the psychologist Dr. Neilson (Michael Ironside), but she lies to him. She does not tell that she has hallucinations and overhears voices. Mary befriends her next-door neighbor Rachel (Rebecca Olson) but she believes a demon wants to take her newborn son.
"Still/Born" (2017) is an underrated Canadian horror movie, with an ambiguous story of a traumatized young mother that believes a demon wants to kidnap her son. Christie Burke has a great performance and convinces as a woman delivering a baby that goes crazy due to the loss of a baby. The conclusion is dark and the open end a cliché of horror movies. My vote is seven.

I loved Grave Encounters, so when I saw this movie is from the same creators/producers I immediately wanted to watch it. The first act was kind of slow yet intriguing but the actress playing the mother is incredibly annoying and I was rooting for the father who really looks like Christian Bale. There are dumb moments especially with the baby and his cot. After all the drama why was the baby still left alone in his room? Naturally you would put your baby in your room if there's any signs of danger. But nope baby was alone despite all the facts presented. There were other odd moments that didn't make any sense or added no action to the plot. The acting was good though and quite believable. The villian had little screening time which was another negative point to add. Overall, a very forgettable movie that could've been executed much better.
Disappointed.
Disappointed.
I'm not familiar with any of this actors other work, but this role has made me take notice. This film in itself though is pretty cliche. You will see more than one scene that looks just a little too similar to others from popular films in the genre with no sense of homage.

This is a well made and acted interesting story.
I don't know why it has such a low rating here - it is worth watching if you fancy a bit of supernatural suspense
Without giving anything away, there are a few twists and turns that lead the viewer along different paths of possibilities - which makes it interesting, because there are times when you have to think about what you are watching.
All-in-all not the best movie of all time, but certainly viewable.

Following the birth of her child, a young mother becomes increasingly more convinced something is stalking her and her newborn son, but as no one else believes her she takes it upon herself to save her child which only manages to cause others around her to believe she's insane instead.
This one wasn't too bad of an effort. One of it's better qualities is the rather enjoyable build-up this goes through in setting up the central premise at play within this. Offering several impressive techniques here with the manner in which this helps to sell her mental deterioration, ranging from the idea of her convinced of two laughs coming from the baby monitor to the fleeting flash images of somebody in the room on the baby monitor and the shots of a dead baby in the crib, all manage to bring out a rather fine building block to the story here. As well as the burgeoning friendship with the neighbor which doesn't help matters at all, the idea of the supernatural force coming after her soon makes for a much more prominent proposition in the later half once it's revealed she's been stalked by the demon the entire time which is where the film picks up considerably. From the demon voice in the house which starts the investigation into the actual being that's attacked in the past and the realization of what she has to do to save him, the idea of helping to break her down even further as the demon begins to put its plan into motion as the shift from the baby being the target to her which ends up driving our sympathy towards her in the situation given all that's been revealed throughout here. There's some creepiness to be had in the finale where she gets placed in the hospital because of her psychotic breakdown and watches the demon snatching the baby up through the monitor which launches her final desperate race to get her son back which ends up revealing the film's biggest issue. Since this one never really makes it clear what exactly the demon is or what it's doing, the scenes of it interacting in the physical world don't make any sense and there's never any kind of concrete answer given to the events that are caused throughout here. It's all mainly due to the last half where the final reveal doesn't do anything to flesh out the series of questions involved in the storyline and nothing is really explained about where it comes from since the psychological aspect of her psychosis doesn't answer the question of what's involved in the storyline. Coupled with some questionable decisions throughout here, there's not a whole lot to really hold it back.
Rated R: Graphic Language, Violence, smoking and intense themes of infants in jeopardy.

I really enjoyed this. It was pretty creepy at parts and they mixed in a good bit of psychological horror as well, leaving you guessing "is she crazy or is it real?"
It wasn't amazing, but I watch about every horror movie that comes out and this was better than average IMO.
It could have gone more towards the horror side and would have been more scary, but I liked the mix of the horror and psych aspect.
7/10

I would rather fall off a cliff than watch this movie again. Not good.
Felt like certain scenes and story line were coming out of nowhere. Absolute gaps and holes in certain parts of the story and scenes. The husband was rarely included and when he was it didn't mesh. Over all i wouldn't watch again, however not the worst movie. Entertaining in a way to say the least.

I can't imagine the reason why Michael Ironside accepted being part of this bad excuse for a movie. Its awful. The plot is riddiculous. The acting is so very bad. The tension is almost "0". The ending was totally predictable. The final part, where the mother tries to invert the situation with the other babe is histerical, horrible, almost comic. I really can't imagine the reason why someone would wanna make such a bad movie like this one. I swear I could do better than this; and I never did it, not even once. But worse than this, I think it's not possible...
I have still to understand the title of this movie. It has nothing to do with the actual plot. That being said, it wasn't too terrible of a movie. I think its good for a one time watch.
