I'm from India and really I'm glad to see my kind of people didn't lose their identity even after leaving the homeland decades ago! Love to see mosre good movie like this coming from foreign Indian communities <3

I watched this only because my husband wanted to have a movie night with local films, and I heard the hype about this film. Wow, was I disappointed. The acting is pathetic. The story is ridiculous and so predictable. Actors are not easy on the eyes. And not at all relatable to South African Indians. We don't have co-ordinated dances in our lives and functions. This is a very inexperienced director and writer, Quite evident. I will not be watching the others. Spoils local films, no hope.

Excellent movie

This is a simple movie with a bunch of great actors. No fancy effects or over-dramatic scenes like the bollywood stuff. It takes a comedic approach to one of the hidden agendas amongst the Indian population in South Africa but at the same time, also relatable in most cultures globally. Highly recommended to watch and is safe for the younger viewers too (though i might add some PG is needed).

Utter trash

This garbage shows how unrepresented this community is, and that they should accept trash like this. When the filmmakers PAY people to go watch their films, that says it all. Filling in cinemas by getting sponsors including the government departments to purchase tickets and then giving it away just to hype this silly production. At least get some real talent , and a proper director . This was tedious to get through. Even Mnet rejected this movie on the first cut and they asked for an entire recut of the film. This shows that the film makers don't know what they are doing.

Performance of all the acting crew is good, typical indian filmsy script without any hype. Keeping everything natural over very tightly packed emotional funny script.

The parents are both not happy when their children fall in love with each other and go to extremes trying to break the couple up, but eventually the get married. Keeping up with the kandasanys is a 2017 South African Indian comedy film directed by jayan moodley , and was the first south african Indian film to be screened widely in theaters. The setting is beautiful and quality of the setting top notch. Keeping up with the kardashians has the likes of Jailoshini Naidoo.
