Actually a good twisted movie

Warning: Spoilers
Inspired To Kill is a 2017 thriller about a young woman who is drawn to a tablet that belongs to a guy called Paul Reese. Strange things start happening and the young woman's life spirals out of control.

We later find out that the young woman is actually the villian the whole time as she created Paul Reese as she suffers from mental problems meaning she had no idea that she was killing everyone and thought it was Paul who was really her as she was talking to herself the whole time and her actual name is Paula Reese. The film ends where she sees a nurse that looked like the guy she invented in her head.

I thought it was a good twisted movie as you wouldn't have guessed that the sweet and innocent Kara(name of young woman) was really a delusional nutcase.

I'm giving it a B

Enjoyable

Warning: Spoilers
This is not your average LMN/Lifetime movie wherein the main character kills everyone that gets in the way of her love life. This is a rather clever whodunnit. The writer teases you with a clue to the real killer when Kara finds Charlie and Jason hugging. She gets very angry and Charlie tells her she's acting insane. It is then you get a glimpse of the real Kara as she tells Charlie to never ever call her insane. Yet, you still find it hard to believe that this gullible but strong young woman could be a killer. Very well done. The acting is also good.

Actually quite good

For a lifetime movie it was quite good. The lead actress has a bright future ahead of her. It's crazy how some of these films get zero distribution from lifetime. There's something wrong with their business model. This a good TV movie. Netflix should license it on the cheap turn it into a hit. Just like You.

High Rating From Me !

You know what ? , usually I find myself picking faults with these types of movies, but, not this one !

I thought it was great, a clever plot, well written , well directed and well acted.

From the very beginning I was intrigued, and it did not disappoint throughout. It was original and different .

Also I think the cast deserve a mention , the acting here was good and convincing , not like so many wooden performances we see all too often !

Do watch it ! You will not be disappointed !!!

Kara's Karma
lavatch17 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Young Kara moves from New York to Los Angeles after the murder of her boyfriend and publisher, Alan Sheldon. Yet, Kara seems unable to flee from the violence that seems to follow her in her new location. The name of Alan Sheldon will be critical in understanding the twists and turns of "Inspired to Kill," which is the story of Kara's karma.

Kara is an aspiring mystery writer. We learn that she grew up in Chicago and always had a fascination with murder mysteries. Yet, her seems to have gone nowhere. Now, in Los Angeles, she is devastated to receive another rejection letter for her prospective novel with the not very inspiring title, "Deadly Love."

Taken in by the kind Charlie Fratelli, who treats her like a sister, Kara is given a large room in a beautiful house and offered a job at the Bella Luna café as a barista. When a customer leaves behind a tablet, Kara contacts him, learning that he is a mystery writer named Paul Reese.

One thing leads to another, and people in Kara's life begin to die. The dirty old man who is Kara's writing professor ("Professor Molester") drops dead after being poisoned. And Tony, the hard-driving boss at the Bella Luna, is shot to death. Were these deaths mere coincidence? Or, was Kara's new beau Paul possibly the perpetrator?

The filmmakers succeeded in developing dramatic tension and suspense around an interesting set of characters. Kara's devoted friend from the Bella Luna is Tony, a law student, who is a loyal supporter. Charlie was a lively, fun-loving friend and landlord, until she met her unfortunate demise. Detective Fredericks has a keen nose for the truth and begins to connect the dots in his investigation.

The key to unlocking the mystery may lie in the book that Kara picks off of Charlie's library when she first arrives in L.A. It is "Murder in the First Person" by P. K. Reese. The chilling tale of "Inspired to Kill" exposes the darkest caverns of the human mind, which at times may be stranger and more evil than fiction.

Twisty thriller
phd_travel18 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A writing student moves to LA. She has a bunch of men in her life a predatory writing teacher, a crime writer she meets, and a student at the coffee shop she works at. Karissa Lee Staples plays the lady well.

There is a good moderately unexpected twist. And a full and satisfactory explanation.

Stay till the end.

Better than most made for TV movies
GladtobeGrey20 November 2019
No big star names in this TV movie, however, it kept my interest right to the end unlike some. The cast were good, especially Miss D'Abo in the lead. Worth watching.
