Worth seeing because it's short
Flavianomatos30 October 2016
This is just a comedy explaining why Thor does not appear in Captain America: Civil War. Just for some laughs, Thor is interviewed alongside the random Australian office worker he's moved with. The little jokes about the differences between our culture and that of a Norse god is worth seeing, provided you know something about Norse mythology, or Marvel's Thor, which is loosely based on the former.

Worth the whole 3½ minutes it take to watch. Especially considering that you can watch it for free on Youtube! It's good to watch some comedic antics from someone who don't fall on the mistake of taking them too seriously.

A subtle introduction to "Thor: Ragnarok"
Gordon-1126 October 2017
This short film tells the story of Thor, the God of Thunder, going to Australia for a holiday.

It is a fun idea to do a short outtake of Thor. It is a short story that is seemingly unconnected to the new film, but it actually gently introduces what happens in the forthcoming film "Thor: Ragnarok". The introduction is so subtle that I did not find out about these clues until having watched "Thor: Ragnarok". At times, the short story portrays Thor to be a bit to silly, such as having the hammer in bed under the sheets. Other times, the humour works well, such as Thor talking about emails.

While Steven and Anthony didn't invite THOR to the Civil War
ThunderKing619 July 2021
This is what superhero shorts should be. It's not full on toilet or obnoxious like those Deadpool shorts. If you want potty humour then you don't belong on team THOR.

Team Thor is about Thor being humanized while on Midgard. He wasn't sent an invite to the civil war so he decided to spend his days basically chilling on Midgard. He teams up though with Darryl.

There was no hammer smashing in this, its still a good short pre-Ragnork.

Last Words: I highly recommend Asgardians and Thor supporters to watch this.

We Need More Darryl
Ltufano2323 April 2024
As the beginning of the end for one of the MCU's most charming ideas, Team Thor kicks off a trilogy of one-shots set throughout the 3rd phase of the Infinity Saga. Following Thor (Chris Hemsworth) through his absence from Civil War, he takes us through a mockumentory of life with his new friend Darryl (Daley Pearson). As an introduction to director Taika Watiti's humorous take on the God of Thunder, Team Thor accomplishes its goal and shares some witty moments. Especially since it was shot prior to the filming of Ragnarok, I am very impressed with Marvel for greenlighting such a silly, yet star-studded short. The Marvel One-Shots certainly go out with a bang with the Team Thor trilogy.

Funny...
RosanaBotafogo5 June 2023
I watched Civil War and didn't even realize that Thor and Hulk didn't participate, because I'm not a fan, quite the contrary, there are several restrictions on most of the superheroes it participates in, except, of course, Spider-Man, and this documentary came to justify it fictionally in his absence, he has a lot of creative and fun... Silly, but very insightful...

Even the poor actor thought he was going to be fired for his exclusion from the film, later it was justified to maintain the balance between villains vs heroes... A short that could have joined the first one that is also equally short, but wonderfully funny... Pobi Darryl, now the villain has gone to live with the people, nobody deserves it, simple and a lot of fun... How did they manage to do something so pathetic, almost a shame, but I love it...

It's a mini Ragnarok
briancham199429 January 2022
The first Team Thor is a little microcosm of Thor: Ragnarok, which would be released the following year. Even better, it's about as short as it needs to be. Thor is stuck on Earth as a fish out of water, tries to live in an apartment with an average human and becomes rather bitter about being left out of Captain America: Civil War. His character becomes a bumbling, immature fool. There's not much else to it.

The joke gets old very quickly
Horst_In_Translation23 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
"Team Thor" is a 3.5-minute live action short film from this year that shows us what Thor is doing while the rest of the gang fight in the new Marvel movie "Captain America: Civil War". Nothing too spectacular actually. He lives everyday life together at an apartment with a random regular guy who works at an office. With the camera crew interviewing him in this one, he tries to prove he doesn't mind not being part of the newest movie, but of course it was the intention by writer and director Taika Waititi to show us that the exact opposite is the case. Tony Stark does not return his calls, so Thor (Chris Hemsworth) creates his own team, the one in the title. To make this more interesting, they also included Banner/Hulk (multiple Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo) towards the end for a brief scene. Maybe Waititi realizes himself that the joke was getting old fairly quickly, even for this short runtime. I personally cannot say I really enjoyed this little short film and while it's a solid little add-on for the franchise, it still offers nothing memorable where I would say "yes you have to see it". Really only worth checking out for the very biggest Marvel fans.

Hilarious
tylerdburns-8132212 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The twenty first entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Team Thor: Part One is a hilarious setup towards Thor: Ragnarok, a future installment of the MCU. Only one person was additionally cast, Daley Pearson as Darryl, and of course he was perfect. The plot and dialogue was hilarious, with Chris Hemsworths character being so inept and confused to the workings of humanity. Mark Ruffalos character even appears at the end, further setting up Thor: Ragnarok. The film also helps explains Thor's absence in the previous entry, Captain America: Civil War, showing Robert Downey Jrs. Character had no way to get in contact. All in all, this film is perfectly cut short before the joke gets old, and is just hilarious, point blank.

I'm going to start my own team
TBJCSKCNRRQTreviews9 July 2022
During Civil War, Thor is in Australia with his new roommate Darryl.

The first of 3 one shots to be helmed by someone who directed one of the actual films. Taika and Hemsworth fill this with the former's unique sense of humor. We get jokes about Thanos, Mjolnir, why he isn't in the third Captain America "solo"(yeah, right) film. The running time is 3 and a half minutes long.

This is currently available on Disney Plus. I recommend it to fans of the franchise. 8/10.
