New, Fresh, Scary, Amazing!

I loved this horror short film. The story is one of guilt and retribution but it is done in a different way. The monster, Rue, is incredible. It is well shot and the practical effects are amazing. This is everything that "The Birch" should have been with a great story for a great monster.

The acting was top notch. The lead actress really sells teenage angst and terror. The teacher is great at selling guilt and suspense. Even Sarah Grey, who plays the blonde student, does a great job with minimal dialogue. Her death scene is very well done.

This is my new favorite horror short film.

The image of Rue remains, for a time, in memory. The story itself is different by classic recipe. The message becomes more profound because it is a direct one. Very personal. Because each of us is defined by regrets. It is a well crafted film and the sense of "Well crafted" , in this case, is profound and large. It could represent a sort of surprise. In essence, it is one of good reflection support, becoming, scene by scene, more than a horror.
