Great acting by SJ and really applause to Nanditha. Somewhere selva's magic is missing. Mixed up Psychic thriller and horror.

The film really impressed me. The music was as good as the cinematography. S. J Suryav performance was perfect for the film flow even though he was known as an over.

The big flaw with the film was that it had an incomprehensible story..and without that I could not get along with the story quickly .. 3.5 / 5.

Personally I felt 'Nenjam Marapathillai' is a decent drama! Y a drama? The answer is here for me Nenjam Marapathilai never felt like a horror thriller cause it doesn't have any jump scares nor is it thrilling. Hence, we can say that the movie doesn't support the genre much. But if you look at the technical aspects the film is decent. To be frank at some places the technical aspects work but at some places it doesn't. If we look at the story you might have seen many movies with the same story. In screenplay Selvaraghavan sir has just done a slight change. Keeping the flashback at starting. Purely linear. But the movie is entirely carried by SJ suriyah sir and Yuvan. The music and the performance are top notch. The direction must be appreciated cause the movie has a lot of intresting scenes. Overall I felt Nanak marapathillai is a worth watch!

I have always been a huge admirer of SJ Surya and he has really raised the bar for deranged, lunatic character portrayals after giving us spellbinding performances in two 2017 movies- Spyder and Mersal.

His role as a henpecked businessman looking to take advantage of a hapless nanny seemed tailor-made. And most of the first half flies by due to his captivating mannerisms alongside a fine performance from Regina Cassandra.

Unfortunately, the trademark unpredictability of Selvaraghavan kicks in soon after, negatively, and in a big way. For a director that gave us the highs of Aayirathil Oruvan (2010) and Mayakkam Enna (2011) he has also given us dismal flops like Irandam Ulagam (2013) and NGK (2019).

Nenjam Marappathillai will go down as one of these failures for me, especially coming from a director who can deliver so much more for audiences.

SJ Surya is expectedly brilliant and some punch dialogues towards the climax really hit you hard but unfortunately, the movie falls apart around him. This was too over-the-top, even by Selvaraghavan standards.

You might enjoy this if you are a die-hard SJ Surya fan. For others, give it a miss!

I love movies which are different than the commercial ones. I like the theme of this movie and camera work, but sj surya has made this movie unwatchable. He delivers the dialogue like shivaji for the entire movie, so irritating. The two girls has acted really well and selvaraghavan has failed. The only good thing in this movie is the climax, how the angel win over the evil. Dont waste your money.

Definitely not a Selvaraghavan movie. SJ Surya did some great acting in recent movies and especially Mersal and Monster. He messed up the whole movie with his horrible acting. Finally got the answer the reason they didn't release this movie five years ago, because they know well this movie doesn't deserves to be released at all.

Aayirathil oruvan kind of psychotic movie. There's nothing comedy, horror, nothing.. characterization is very worst. Who is who..what's happening..everything is confusing..music was happier in the sad scenes. Not sure how and why they took this film..

The actor acts like a mad person. I think they have made this movie so that the actor can utilize girls. Stupid movie.

This classic retake on God vs Satan, has dark humor and madness throughout the film. SJ Suryah delivers a top notch performance as Ramsay. Though there are certain moments in the film that makes you wonder 'Meh', Yuvan's songs and background music ups the ante. Its almost the music is also one of the characters in the film given the lack of dialogues in this visually brilliant movie. Do watch it!!

Dont waste your time by watching this un logical film.

This film is just Selvaraghavan's take on horror comedy films like Kanchana and Aranmanai, except he replaced regular comedy with dark comedy. Remember, this film was made back in 2016 when horror comedies like Kanchana 2 and Aranmanai 2 were popular. He wanted to make a movie like that in his own style but failed miserably. Also some scenes were shot or rendered in 240p quality and was an absolute eyesore to watch.

I didn't know that this movie will be a garbage because the cinematography and screenplay are worst except the font letter. Actually the story was not good at all and also the horror elements were didn't satisfy the audience and also climax was stupid . To watch this movie if one of the kids don't know how to make a challenge for game I recommend you to watch this stupid movie as a punishment if they are out in a game . Verdict : nenjam marappadhillai is a worst movie of selvaragahvan and a very irritating climax.

Unwatchable movie, looks like the entire team thought the audience are idiotic to buy what they have sold in the name of a horror movie, it's a total fricking disgrace that everyone failed - script, acting, direction, music. Isn't there someone within the creative who would put sense into the makers before releasing such awful movies?

First try to witness the director's way of narrating a story and the screenplay in big screen.

Finally S J Suryah - A star has born. Awesome work overall.

Unwatchable bad. Overacting by S. J. Suryah trying to channel some Sivaji Ganesan into his role. Thin plot, flat comedy scenes, loud intrusive soundtrack.
