Warning: Spoilers
Arthur Darvill as a Villain is the best thing in this season. Ray is going so childish. Sometimes it can be very frustrating. Aaaand ofcourse: Guinevere is a lgbt. Every 4 out of 5 woman was a lgbt in history? They exaggerate this pc thing.

"Camelot/3000" - I see what you did there
imakk200121 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Mick was the highlight of the ep, per usual. But he wasn't alone.

What started out as tropey bickering will they/won't they Amaya/Nate was quickly (mercifully, to be honest) dialed way down, so much so each actually had her/his separate story with only 1 glance or 2 between the two.

Ray finally gets his ep as the hero complete with a really blinged out saber that was kinda cool. What should have been cheesy mccheesiness was actually kind of sweet and inspiring, and Ray's personality made it believable. Likewise with Nate trying to have Ray's back the whole time.

Amaya/JSA get more screen time to tell their stories and show where the legends are going next. Did the Sara/Amaya/Star Girl arguing over the holy lance scene pass the bechdel test? There was that 1 mention of Arthur as the reason why Star Girl was staying put... Still, it was about the spear, and they talked it out, settled it without coming to blows, and came out each wishing the best for the other.

Martin/Mick: I almost wanted Mick to go fe fi fo fum I smell me a thieving professor. Even though it was obvious how things would turn out with the mind-control thingy, it was still fun to watch Mick messing with Martin and Martin having to acknowledge some times smart isn't everything.

Mick standing up for Ray, that's Snart's Rogues credo right there. That scene of the crew 1 by 1 following Mick's lead without it being a knock against Sara, just wow.

Rip's even more diabolical in this ep, I don't know how they're going to make redeeming him believable. I almost thought he was going to do something to Darkh but nope.

Least I forget: tip of the hat to Sara Lance A lot.

Score: 8

Legends of the Round Table
ThomasDrufke23 February 2017
Isn't a trip to medieval times ten times better than going to the 1950's or 1960's like last season. Just by those choices alone, this season is much more enjoyable than Legends' freshman outing. As I've always said, I embrace the ridiculous with this show. My god it's so ridiculous.

I'm starting to believe that there's absolutely no reason to try and bring Rip back to the good side of things. He's too far gone at this point, and I don't see the point in ruining the current chemistry of the team as it stands right now. But the real problem with Rip's presence on the show is that it makes no sense. Not only has there been a lack of a real explanation as to how he's alive, but his reasoning for going after the spear of destiny makes no sense either. Let me get this straight, Rip joined the JSA in 1956 to find the spear and keep it out of harm's way, correct? They chose to break the spear to ensure its safety, but it took the JSA to different time zones. And now Rip is going through time to get the parts of the spear back? Didn't he make the decision to break the spear into pieces in the first place? Isn't that a bit of a contradiction?

One of the noticeable highlights tonight was the action and CGI. That opening shot of Detroit in 3000 felt like something out of a science fiction film, not a small budgeted TV show. I also liked the bird view shots of the Camelot castle, and don't even get me started on the final battle. Everything from the fight choreography to the lighting and cinematography was bada**. They have really one-upped themselves since last season. When this stuff is firing on all cylinders, I could care less how ridiculous or awful the plot is.

I've never had the fascination for King Arthur and his knights of the round table, but leave it to the Legends to make me smile a few times in a "make believe" world. Ray igniting a "lightsaber"? Rory mind controlling dozens of medieval soldiers? Sara making out with Arthur's wife? Or should I say Sara Lance(a lot)? I mean, I would expect nothing less from this show. Overall, this episode didn't really have any impact on how this season will turn out since Darhk got away and it sure looks like Rip is going to escape next week, but it was fun watching the team travel to Camelot with chaos always right behind them.

+CGI

+Action & ending battle

+Rip should stay bad

-Rips backstory with the spear makes no sense

A trip to medieval times, that was worth watching
michaelafamfulikova22 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was taking place partially in the year 3000 and also in the medieval times. And it showed us some disagreements between the Legends team. Fortunately, they were short-term looking. This is in my opinion best Ray Palmer episode, and the best ever Brandon Routh acting, too. Ray had finally shown why he may be called a hero, and if I was considering any sharp words against Nate Heywood character in the previous episodes, I call it off. He may be crazy at times, but this was not the case. I cannot understand on the other hand, why the scriptwriters try to pair Sara Lance with as much women as possible. She was with the English Queen, and now the kiss of Guinevere?! Though Caity Lotz is great actress despite these story line flaws. I was surprised in the positive manners about improving relationship between Mick Rory and Martin Stein. Perhaps the heart-to-heart these two had some time back, helped the former to behave better towards Stein. The following note is not regarding Stein, but his actor. Am stunned how frail Mr.Garber looks. He stays though in my opinion one of the MVP's of the cast and his character is a mentor-like,too. And to end with my opinion of Rip Hunter- I still do like the actor of his, though the character did turned evil.

Best acting performances: Nick Zano as Nate Heywood Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter Caity Lotz as Sara Lance Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe Victor Garber as Dr.Martin "Marty" Stein

It's a saber of light
cobi-8062022 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
My thoughts for this episode were initially "another random year visit where the heroes do nothing but mess around" and I was right about that but this episode was more surprising than previous "mess around" episodes. It had a medieval sword battle that was pretty good to be honest. I think this might be the first time we actually see blood and people actually getting visibly hurt by weapons in this show. At least it feels like that.

The visit to the future and the 3000-part in the episode title was bad. These JSA members continue to die and I was hoping they would be there to help the Legends fight the Legion of Doom at the end of the season. Too bad they decided the best story was to just kill them off in 1-minute scenes before we even got to know them. I still wonder what Dr Mid-Nite's powers were.

Like "Raiders of the Lost Art" this episode also had Star Wars references. One soldier utters "it's a saber, of light" and then Ray responds with the trademark line and then Nate's eye-roll "trademark, really?". Funny stuff. The lightsaber looked cool in action too, I thought it was going to be Excalibur but I'm glad it wasn't, Ray invents a lightsaber just like that.

Only half of the Legion of Doom are in this episode, Rip and Darkh are here to get one of the pieces for the Spear of Destiny. The story in itself hasn't been all that interesting so far and the things saving it are the Mick scenes, the comedy and the every so often cool action scene. I really hope we get Reverse-Flash back soon.

One missed opportunity: have Malcolm Merlyn be Merlin, he was named "the magician" by the League of Assassins. I was expecting it to be him, however, I'm okay with it being Stargirl but still it could've made for a funny reveal. I mean, why wasn't Merlyn here? Is he and Thawne off stealing another part of the spear?

All in all this episode was good due to comedy, a surprisingly good medieval battle and Ray's lightsaber.

Not interesting
Abdulxoxo9 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the least interesting, if not THE least interesting episode this season so far, the use of futuristic tech to mind-control just doesn't work for me, the fight scenes at the round table was clumsy, and Rip assigned Stargirl to the medieval Camelot with the piece of spear of destiny? why? which Rip first? the evil Rip or good Rip (if he was ever good) and at which point in time? why would Rip trust the JSA members? 'cause the legends last encounter with the JSA didn't go that well, so why them? and Stargirl pose as Merlin but why do they still call her Merlin? wow. And Lance falling in love with every woman she encounter. urgh.

Amaya's head seems to be in the game lately, maybe she should be the captain.

They captured Rip now, which I'm sure by the break of dawn will be out, ohh and there's an empty threat by Jax, just shut up dude!

on the contrary, the battle scene at the end was surprisingly well-shot, and well-choreographed, it's just spectacular. And Ray's sword was pretty cool. Mick continues to be one the best part of every episode, his lines are hilarious.

If only.... Warning: Spoilers
So the team gets the piece of the spear and Rip is locked up. Well, we know for previous episodes that there are two absolute certainties: 1) having the team in possession of a piece of the spear is the LEAST secure place it could be, and 2) it will take Rip only about half an episode (if that long) to get out of his cell.

And of course at the end of the episode the writer simply had to get his bltq agenda into the story.

Again full of bad decisions and plotholes
ioanaalexandramircea20 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Who writes these stories, I am yet to wonder?!? And for what audiences??? 3 year olds??? 1. Decisions with no base: no, I will not give you the spear, I was meant to protect it. 5 lines of dialogue later, with no argument in between: here, you take the spear and protect it. What the...??? 2. Sure, bring the former, now evil, captain of the ship on board. It's not like he gad bloody keywords to control the AI, under HIS command. What could possibly go wrong??? We'll see in the next episode in which Rip will probably escape in the first 5 minutes and wreck havoc on the ship, steal the spear and escape.... Bad story writing, tons of plotholes and embarrassing jokes ...and does Sara really have to be Captain Kirk and get it on with every skirt she finds? Seriously. How is that different from when a male captain does it. Is that NOT demeaning towards women cause its lgbtq friendly!?!!? PS: don't kid yourselves, there were no warrior queens in that period as much as I would've liked that. And altering history to boost children's self esteem and force gender equality and representation in the medieval times is just bad parenting if you ask me. Better show them how bad it was and why things needed and partially still need changing

Truly atrocious!
Andrewmcal1 November 2018
Camelot 3000 was a great Arthurian inspired DC mini-series. This mistitled episode of Legends deficated on the Arthur myth, DC comics, and good people everywhere! I'm not sure which was worse, the truly bad writing or the atrocious production values! Actually, I'm sure! It was the the writing! It may be the worst dialogue in a tv series ever! Watching competent actors forced to regurgitate the bad lines in this shabbily constructed story was the equivalent of a colonoscopy without the anesthetic! Please save yourself and skip this episode, I wish I could use The spear of destiny to erase this one from my past!

No.

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoy this show for the mindless entertainment and the time-travel element, something I've always been fascinated with. I started watching the DC shows and have been hooked. I never reviewed a single episode until now. This shows seems to have taken every beloved character and turned them into a caricature of their former selves. Ray Palmer was a favorite of mine in Arrow, a brilliant and kind scientist who wanted to change the world. He still holds those same values, however he seems to have lost all common sense when he made the decision to board the Waverider. Now I'm almost every episode he makes questionable choices that endangers everyone else, just to make sure he's remembered as a "hero".

I overlooked Jax's lack of judgment when he refused to shoot Rip in the previous episode (apparently the gun he held could only kill, not wound) because he's still a kid, and the entire team's judgment last season when they had multiple opportunities to take out Vandal Savage, or at least take him out of commission until they could figure out what to do with him (thank goodness Kendra is gone), but this is getting ridiculous. They are an extremely smart crew, and no one on the planet could possibly make as many dumb mistakes and decisions as they do. They act like a group of spoiled children, acting out if they don't get their way, regardless of the consequences to anyone and everyone around them. Taking Rip as a prisoner will work out well for them, I'm sure. Gideon is completely sentient and will totally know the difference between bad Rip and good Rip's voice.

This show has so much potential, but the Legends themselves are ruining it.
