The Ninja are celebrating "day of the departed" a national holiday in Ninjago. But when sensei yang brings back past villians and promises them that they can live again if they defeat the ninja, are they ready for this threat?

On the Ninjago holiday: Day of the Departed, the ninja remeber those who have departed. Jay visits his parents at the junkyard; Lloyd and Misako remember Garmadon in the Corridor of Elders; Zane remembers his father in Birchwood Forest and Kai and Nya remember their parents too. Cole, unable to fully accept being a ghost, visits Sensei Yang as he begins to fade from existence, but accidentally releases the spirits of the ninjas' past enemies, resulting in an epic fight.

Since Cole has been cursed to be a ghost for eternity by the ghost of sensei Yang he has not felt himself, but lately he has been losing his grip on reality and disappearing. As the Day of the Departed celebrations commence Cole's friends have completely forgotten him, as if he did not exist and all of the ninja's enemy's who have passed have returned as ghosts.

The Ninja break into McDonalds to feed the people Schezwan sauce and after killing Jay's secret brother they morn his death and after Wu loses the battle to the coffin (he dies) the ninja need to go the spirit world and get him back. While there Jay is dismembered by his brother before he kills Master Wu's ghost? Didn't know you could do that. Anyway Ed and Edna fall down the stairs like your grandma and Kai throws a hiss fit about getting long sleeved pajamas and they escape the spirit world after Jay regrows his leg. Then the ninja are transported to a massive temple in the Cloud Kingdom where the elemental masters are fighting Jeff Bezos who is riding a basket with a toy katana you can buy from Amazon for $29. He kills most of them but then P.I.X.E.L jumps in and she gets chucked out the window but then Dareth jumps in and destroys the cart before unleashing his brown power and resetting the universe where Dareth had all of Jeff's money. How cool is that. And that is Ninjago day of the departed. Oh yeah and Pythor, The Overlord, Chen, Clouse, Morro and all their armies team up to cripple Wu when his ghost's ghost is sent to hell for not warning the ninja about 50 different invasions resulting in millions of casualties. And then after that the chicken nuggets come to life Kai i stabbed and Oleg the movie meerkat jumps in and beats up the McNuggets. The Elon Musk e plants car noises into everyone so whenever someone speaks you can hear vvvrrrrrooooooooooooooooooommmmm from the back of their throats. Then Bill Gates throws a retirement party where he he announces he's the lion from Legend Of Chima so the ninja take him out and the world is saved the end.
