Outer Banks is a coming-of-age action mystery, replete with danger, romance, and good old-fashioned whodunit. The 10-episode season, which premiered on Netflix on April 15, features standout performances by a slew of relatively unknown young actors— many of whom, this is their first major role. Read our review here, and find out more about the cast of your new binge obsession below.
Outer Banks Main Cast Chase Stokes as John B.
Chase Stokes stars as John B., the charismatic leader of the Pogue crew. You may have caught the rising star in an episode of Stranger Things, or Daytime Divas, but Outer Banks is Chase Stokes’ breakout role. You’ll see him next playing Martin in Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets, based on the novel of the same name. You can find him being lightly self-deprecating and (and promoting Outer Banks) on Instagram @hichasestokes.

The Pate twins, Josh and Jonas, have spent the last two decades toiling away behind the scenes of the small screen, producing TV series that haven’t quite managed to capture the world’s attention enough to become heavy hitters. Aquarius, Believe, Blood & Oil, Surface and even Caprica were all perfectly fine, but they don’t tend to be talked about amongst the standout shows of the 00s and 10s. Now, together with Syriana consultant Shannon Burke, the twins are bringing a new teen treasure-hunting drama series to Netflix.
10 episodes of Outer Banks will hit the streaming platform this month, offering up a beach-heavy bowl of feelings, peril and hot, hot sand. Only time will tell if it’s coarse, rough, and irritating – or whether it’ll get everywhere.
As of this writing, season 2 has not been confirmed, but Netflix has been on a cancellation spree of its new series recently,...

"The events of that summer would change my life…"
As someone who enjoyed spending lots of time at the beach growing up, there tends to be a special place in my heart for films that are set at the beach and/or revolve around surf life. Today I've got a fantastic trailer here for you to watch for a wonderful coming-of-age film called Age of Summer, and it's the kind of film that speaks to me. There are a lot of things shown in this trailer that I can relate to.
The story centers around an awkward teen "who is a recent transplant to a small Southern California beach town tries to fit in with the locals in the summer of 1983. After his most precious possession is stolen he finds himself on a journey of self-discovery, as he attempts to reclaim it."
The movie stars Peter Stormare, Jake Ryan, Brian Van Holt,...

Starring Peter Stomare, Jake Ryan, Brain Van Holt, Diarmaid Murtagh, Percy Hynes White, Kane Ritchotte, and Madeleine Wade. It looks alright. Watch below.
