Worst. Screenplay. Ever.
Top_Dawg_Critic4 September 2018
Even if your budget is only a few dollars, beg borrow or steal money instead of letting amateur writer Sean Mick write his first ever screenplay for a full length feature film. Start with short films, go to film school, let a pro proofread the garbage you wrote, something... but don't ruin a film with the worst cliches, actors scenes and dialogue a 5th grader could have better written.

From the annoying whispering tone of Johnny Messner to the full time toothpick in Tito Ortiz's mouth, these cliches are 1980's writing. Many scenes where too long and convoluted.

The directing was ok considering the script Timothy Woodward Jr. had to work with. The acting was typical for this type of film, but would have been better if the director directed his cast better and had a better script to work with. The story in itself has been played over many times, but I could live with that... I just couldn't handle the cheese that made up most of the screenplay. The fight scenes where poorly edited and choreographed. Even Danny Trejo's shotgun blasts at the end where so obviously pathetic 1970's gunpowder effects. The score was also annoying for most part of the film. The cinematography was adequate.

It's too bad this flop could have been avoided had the proper resources been part of the production, as I'm a fan of all the UFC and lead actors. This one missed the mark in a huge way. A very generous 4/10 from me.

UFC Fans and Danny Trejo Fans, Don't Watch This
gringopaul9 September 2018
Like many people, the only reason I watched this film is to see legendary MMA fighters Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. (OK, I've never missed a Danny Trejo movie either.) You expect the action sequences to be awesome. About 20 minutes in the mumbling hero faces off with Chuck Liddell, who plays a cartoonish bad guy. This little Hollywood twerp intimidates Liddell, who pulls a knife too small to peel a potato. Chuck Liddell pulling a knife? From there, it gets even worse. The action scenes are terrible, choreographed without any serious attempt at realism. Danny Trejo plays a Latin Godfather. He's sappy emotional, weak and with bad judgment. Tito fares a little better, but not much. If you want to see Chuck Liddell on screen, watch his brief scenes in 2007's Bobby Z. Watch any other Danny Trejo film and see a real life badass show genuine menace. This doesn't qualify as a B Movie. Bring back the Death Penalty. The writers, director and producers should be taken out and shot. I give it three stars, one each for Danny, Chuck and Tito.

Get the kid, kill Locho, have a beer
nogodnomasters4 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Frank (Johnny Messner) screwed up in Iraq as a sniper and doesn't talk much. He has bad dreams and works as a mechanic having spent time in prison. When someone accidentally kills the daughter of Leonard (Danny Trejo) his former boss, Leonard has a job for Frank, one where Frank freezes. Leonard takes it home and makes it personal.

This is your typical special ops revenge film without Liam Neeson or Jason Statham. Nothing new.

Guide: F-word, clothed sex. no nudity.

Poor movie
tayseer-ms13 September 2018
Poor storyline, poor acting from the lead star and poor effects. Gives one the feeling that a whole bunch of amateurs tried to make a movie.

My Gawd
fbmike29 September 2018
Where do I begin with this movie? Holy smokes. And not in a good way. Can acting get any worse than this? I still have this scene in my head of Tito Ortiz with a tooth pick in his mouth trying to be cool dude. Wonder who thought that one up? Chuck Liddell? Oh mighty gawd what's up with this Chucky? I was half expecting Brock Lesnar to show up in this movie and beat them both up. The writer and director need to be tied to a chair and forced to watch what they created. Can't think of any worse torture. Or they could tie me to a chair and beat me up for actually sitting through this. That wouldn't have been as much torture as I already suffered watching this. Danny Trejo has been in some stinkers before, but this one might have beat the others ones as far as the stank. Heard of B movies? This was a Z movie. This movie doesn't even deserve a 1. It's more like 1/2.

Sometimes it is great to watch a bit of junky action, where bad guys get killed in a spectacular fashion. This film didn't deliver. Acting awful. Script awful. Story awful. And worst of all, action awful! Do something more fun like watching paint dry.

Someone actually gave this 9 out of 10????
richard_markham22 November 2018
Man I have seen some bad ***** films on Netflix, but this takes the cake.

Some of the worst dialogue and acting ever.

Plot totally devoid of originality.

How can anyone put a film like this together and then sit back at the end and think job well done... The mind boggles....

If you really don't have anything else to do, like cleaning hair out of the plug hole, emptying the bins or just contemplating mortality, then waste some hours of your life watching this.

I had to finish it just to see how much worse it got.

Unbelievably slow
gjosiban-124 February 2019
The tale has been told a thousand times, so nothing new here. However the pace is excruciatingly slow. not in the sense that more mayhem is required, but rather the plot remains stagnant and the characters remain one dimensional.

i had fun with movie nothing to hate about it
nikola178 December 2018
People what do you expect when you watch a B-Class action film those days ? what do you expect ? a perfect storyline, better script ? well this is B-Class old school revenge kicking ass flick it is theirs nothing to hate about this movie at all, it was just a normal old school revenge film, with old school UFC fighters like Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell they did fine in movie not best performance but still good looking badass guys in this movie, specially i watched Tito vs Liddell 3 in golden boy fight after i was watching this movie, i thought shot of this film was very well done made. now it's not best performance or great script but at least if you enjoy B-Class movies action, fun packed. this is type of movie that i think it should have a decent budget but it's shame. a Disgraced alcoholic veteran A screwed up in Iraq as a sniper (Johnny Messner) known for tears of sun, perfect weapon with seagal, Equalizer. Frank was in army Afghanistan war then in 10 years later he is living with his girlfriend Cass (Nikki Leigh) and with her daughter Shannon (Kai Scarlett Williams) Frank doesn't talk much. He has bad dreams and works as a mechanic fixing cars specially he is working for Ocha (Danny Trejo) his daughter Nikki (Sofia Esmaili) is killed buy hit and run they know who it was. Ocha gives frank last job to kill guy who killed Ocha daughter Nikki. frank could not do it because the guy who killed Ocha family has a family as well he couldn't do it. since Ocha got upset he decided to kidnap frank daughter Shannon. his girlfriend Cass got shot ended up in hospital. and his friend who was in same unit in army Timothy (Tito Ortiz) who is teaming up with frank to go Mexico to look for his daughter out for revenge, Nelson 'Nels' Salvatore (Chuck Liddell) who defeated Tito Ortiz in UFC he got involved in few movies like War pigs, Altitude, Riot. he is villain as one of Ocha guys his acting is alright not best. but it was shame for Chuck and Tito not facing up each another in film, i wanted to see them fight in film, it doesn't happen it at all but it doesn't destroy movie for me. I would recommended just for action fans who loves B movies, this isn't Oscar's or perfect storyline or script nothing like that. this is just simple plain old fashion revenge flick like john wick b-class movie that is a lot of fun to watch.

A very bad story line filled with bad actors!
Chopstix218 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is an LOL kind of movie.

The random bar fight scene? Why is it even in the movie? So many big tough guys that are trying to relive their highschool bullying days in this.

Please pay attention to the hit and run driver. Why does he scream and cry like that? Why is he crying like an animal?

Strip club, no nudity for a rated R movie? Whatever that's okay, but the bar in the club? It's litterally like the hostess booth!!! The guy barely fits behind it and they told him to keep quite if he knows what's best (as they flash their gun at him)....How is that supposed to be intimidating to someone thats a guard for the cartels money laundering operation?

Jokes!

Should be a comedy instead!

Enjoy!

Mediocre
compugor9 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Messner doesn't quite carry this droll, low-action bore fest with his deadpan delivery of an alcoholic vet haunted by war memories, ho-hum. Throw in Danny Trejo as the top crime jefe, a hottie girlfriend for the protagonist, and a host of sub-thugs and some erotic bar chicks, and you still have nothing much more than a drawn out, dreary crime drama with the unrealistic hero-and-his-buddy-take-out-all-the-bad-guys formula of saving the daughter and taking her home for a happy sappy ending. The fast forward button is your friend and may help avoid queasiness from watching this.

Boring and predictable
Wizard-813 December 2018
I had a feeling before coming to the IMDb to write my comments on this movie that many other viewers before me would have savaged this movie, and I was correct. Not that these people are wrong in giving the movie a big thumbs down, though having seen thousands of movies in my lifetime, I can say safely that this particular movie does not deserve the lowest rating. I have seen MANY movies that are far worse than this effort. For what was obviously a painfully low budget, the movie looks okay (though I admit that a higher budget would have helped.) And it's always fun to see Danny Trejo, even though he does seem to be going on autopilot for this particular project.

But yeah, the movie all the same is not good at all. I summed up why the movie is bad in the subject line of this review. The script provides absolutely nothing new - if you've seen your share of action movies, every plot turn and every character will be extremely familiar. Though you've probably never seen these elements unfold in the painfully slow fashion this movie choses to do so. Making matters even worse is that the movie is painfully weak when it comes to action. The first hour of the movie has almost no action; the filmmakers have to throw in a totally gratuitous bar fight to keep the audience awake. And what little action there is in the first hour or the last half hour isn't executed in a particularly exciting or engaging manner; it is strictly by the numbers.

As I said, the movie isn't the WORST, but it is definitely BAD, even if you have a hankering for B movies as I often do.

Slow, slow, slow
docm-3230430 January 2021
When you call a film an action film, it would imply that there's...action. This is yet another poorly made "action" film. We need a new Arnold or Angelina as nobody seems to be stepping up to the plate.

Enjoyed this action film starring Johnny Messner, Danny Trejo, Tito Ortiz, and Chuck Liddell. Very entertaining and the action was solid. Trejo gives one of his best performances. Total check out.

Hi
campbel-1199812 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I was gonna give this movie a 1 star review, but then I realized the main character reminded me of hardened alcoholic Bert from a Family Guy episode and then I laughed. The main character whisper talks the whole movie; like, who are you? 85 year old Clint Eastwood?

Eh, it was good background noise though.

Please. Do not watch this movie.
lava-700094 October 2019
Okay, sooo this was just truly awful. The plot is forgetful and shallow. And it's packed full of the most overused Hollywood action tropes you can ppssibly imagine. I was so busy bouncing between being shocked and/or insulted by how appalling the acting is in this movie, I barely had time to notice anything else. I will say the lead pulled off a convincing, 'struggling addict' routine in the beginning. But that's about where this movie begins and ends. Was there scoring? I suppose so, but it was so boring I hardly noticed.

To be totally honest here, I lost interest in this movie unbelievably quickly. And as a result I actually had to stop watching it, a half hour from the end. Why? ... Why not? The characters had no connection with the audience. Every single aspect of this movie is so painfully predictable, why would I think the ending would be any different? I didn't care what happened in either case. I don't remember the last time I actually had to give up on a movie it was so bad.

I feel bad for those involved in this production. I hope they went on to do better things. Please, don't make this thing, whatever it was, again.

And for those of you intending to watch this movie, your time is better spent on literally anything else you can find.
