In line with the exciting world of art
alenkabbrown24 February 2021
For those involved with the the world of art, this movie won´t be weird because it shows one of the many possible dark sides of negotiations over any painting that is suspected of value. It is a very interesting movie as a movie in itself and as a documental proof of art business too!

Amazing emotions
saarailonanurmi14 September 2018
This movie is filled with all the possible emotions you can imagine. And when watching it, I experienced all the emotions and feelings by myself. From love to hate, for happiness to desperation, from friendship to bitterness. All in one movie. All the elements of a great movie are linked well together without any special effects. It is so enlightening to see a classical, well made movie in modern times.

Great in every way, a good screenplay also the acting, casting, cinematography, soundtrack are excellent.

I don't know why such films go so unrecognised.

Genuine hidden gem !

What a lovely story !

Casting is very impressive with the old man with old school approach of doing business, from an other era, unexpectedly connecting with his grandson.

Discover a genius painter that you probably never heard of before.

Hidden gem of a painting, hidden gem of a movie.

A wonderful movie!

A wonderful movie!

Such a heart-warming story, coming from the cold-climate Finland.

Even the small details make a big contribution: the pastries from the cake shop look so tasty.

And, the recorded message left on the machine from the Swedish art gallery contains a great truth (given in so few words).

If the movie title is literally translated from Finish, it would be The Unknown Master.

And yet again The Master Is Stretching His Arm to us and Is Offering to us a chance to do the right thing and redeem ourselves.

Even though, on many occasions we do not understand it, He Is always here for us.

It is never too late to repent. Glory to God!

Disappointing film
Indep-Thinker12 May 2023
The protagonist is an old man who tends to buy low and sell high. He teaches the same to his teenage grandson.

Despite the fact that the main character works in the field of art, he does not bring any inspiration or uplift to the plot and his attention is focused on completely on the money.

However, there were several moments in the film that could serve as the basis for introducing a deeper metaphysical or spiritual layer into the film's plot.

For example, the impetus for this could be the moment when the main character shows his grandson a picture with an old man and a child, and subsequently beat why Repin painted an icon of a saint instead of a portrait of a rich man.

This could work great for completing his own life story and a lesson for his grandson - material things aren't all we're here for.

The more expensive the picture the more beautiful
sorokous25 September 2019
This movie thought me that the more expensive the picture the more beautiful and valuable as a peace of art is. (with VAT included).
