I followed so far because this series has a relatively strong plot and ensemble cast. Usually series work better when several characters are equally strong, because there's just so much you can do with a single character.
Ribisi as Pete is good enough to carry the role of the con artist digging deeper into a dangerous situation and making it worse with every move he makes. He loves his brother Eddie, but he's also having some feelings for his fake family, which as dysfunctional as it may be, is still better than his real one.
Audrey and Otto are two strong characters, both playing their role well, especially Otto, who's totally convincing in his desperation. Lance is appropriately slimy and Julia on the fence between him and her family. Needles to say, Vince played by the great Cranston is a memorable villain.
This episode developed the situation in such a way as to corner Pete and his "family" into a tight spot: everything planned went the wrong way and at the end of the episode, even if the money is finally in the bag, Pete is left with Lance, Otto, a cold-blood killer and a corpse to deal with. I wasn't expecting that, therefore bravo for a decent cliffhanger.
PS the part with the cat litter may be risible, but then nothing is perfect and as long as most plot makes sense, it's good enough for me.
